According to the 'how to' section on the website I should be able to search the maps by GPS co-ordinates, but the instructions given do not work with version 3.03. Is there a way to do this?I am using a 5800 XM.This is the 'how to' link.
View 4 RepliesI have tried saving the GPS co-ordinates to my contacts in my iPhone 4S but does not work. The problem is it is stored as the postal address,"5th cross, 10th main" and so on and their are several locations with similar postal address. I would instead like to store the GPS co-ordinates itself in the contacts.

Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.

Is there a known issue with the Search Screen Keyboard not hiding itself when you leave the search screen in IOS 5.1.1? Ever since I upgraded, if I go to the search screen, then flick the screen back to the first Aps page, the keyboard stays there in the middle of the screen and I have to click the off button off and on again.

I don't understand how this happening, I don't know where to turn this OFF. The menus were not so friendly actually. Emails, Internet connection setups, WAP Services something were all around. It's not been sorted out accordingly. The user is almost dizzy how to operate this "friendly" phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've searched high and low, it seems I may be the first to report this issue:not long after I upgraded to the new firmware, I noticed that I can no longer search my contact list; I can get into contact list, but when I try to type some letters into the search box, the letters do not "stay", it comes up for a very brief moment and then deletes itself :-/
I've tried typing in other languages: same.
I've tried typing in other application: works as normal
I've tried clearing the cache using y-browser: no good
I've tried reseting the phone - both the 7370 and 7780 method: doesn't really fix it -> 7370 reset will fix it for a while, but as soon as I load my contact lists back in, it either stops working or allow for one more search and then it's gone.I'm suspecting it's related to the new firmware... and that's pretty much the only thing I haven't tried, I don't know how to roll-back the firmware

I have a missed called from someone and I'm sure I know the number but can't figure out who the caller was because evidently I have it with two contact entries.I dont want to search more than 400 contacts!
I'm using E72, and I have big problem on this. It never automatic search GSM network when it lost it mean my phone coming to out of service until I go to. Setting -> Phone -> Network to manual search. And here the parameter in my cellphone: Network mode : GSM Operator selection : Automatic.

Why can't you set Contacts to search by company? The settings only allow you to sort by first or last name.
there is a new application in the extras-testingrepo. it works great and if you have a lot of applications installed and do not want to swap pages to search, this makes it easy to find any application with a couple of keystrokes.

I installed the newest version 3.03 and uploaded the maps of my country (the Netherlands) to the phone. I am able to pick a direction while using the map itself but when i enter an address in the search bar it give the error: no offline results found.Maps is in offline modus because of my subscription without internet.tried entering just the streetname, streetname and city, streetname city and country, different streets.

Subsequently the phone started thowing kinds of errors when starting apps. Had to uninstall OVI from my phone. Phone now works OK but can only access ovi via web. I would like OVI app back on my phone.

When I go to the dialpad, dialing a number doesn't bring up any contacts; and attempting to press any keyboard buttons (i.e. "M" for "Michael") does absolutely nothing either.I am sure I must be missing something. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two N8s..1st I purchased in 11 Jan 2011 and second one on 27 Dec 2011. Both have latest firmwares (025.007.C03.01) installed on them. But there is a difference in search option for contacts.The first phone (black in the pic) has normal old fashioned keypad which occupies the whole screen. And the second one (white in the pic) has qwerty keyboard which occupies half the screen.Why is so?I want qwerty in black N8 too.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Lumia 710 with OS version 7.10.8773.98. I believe it is updated to the latest. I see that there is still no way to search for text within SMS? The issue is that I have more than 100 SMSes of which some are from service providers whose number is not stored in my contacts obviously. And everytime I need some information from a particular SMS, there is no way to search for it other than scroll through each SMS till I find it. This way, I have accidently deleted important SMSes that I needed.

I think I have broken Ovi Maps search. The problem happened when I chose to clear device. Settings ->task manager -> clear device
Ovi maps then failed to return any kind of search results even as general as Stuttgart to as precise as street names. I then proceeded to reflash to PR1.2 using flasher 3.5.exe and reflashed the vanilla eMMC as found in maemo dev repository. The problem persists. Even after loading some maps using the Map Loader, the problem persists. I think I have cleared some indexing capability of the device.
In 3.01 I click on the search (magnifier glass icon) and I am presented with the option address, how do I do this in 3.04?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm going to Europe soon and wanted to use my N97 OVI Maps as a navigation aid, so I've been testing it today in offline mode as data charges abroad are horrendous. My problem is that when trying to search for POI's i.e. Cash Machines, Restaurants, Train Stations etc. the offline search takes a very, very long time (perhaps over 5 minutes), if it completes at all. The phone locks up before it eventually shows me the results and then after 10-15 mins of waiting, I have to remove the battery to restart the phone for it to become usable again.

Eg. around the corner from my house is supermarket Billa, its POI is on map on the right place but when I try to search for Billa, I got no result at all! This is not only in this case but found more cases.How is this possible? I tried to search more POIs from the maps now and I found that I was able to find only this POIs from Lonely Planet, Michelin, WCities.. but none OVI maps own POIs. Other places like streets, squere etc are fine... Somebody with same experience. Note: I´m always online and all the maps I downloaded to the mobile.

I transferred all of my data including 4,200 contacts successfully.However, when I attempted to use the search function in contacts I received the "Memory Full - Close Applications" message.When looking at the memory data both the C and E drives have plenty of available memory.I have tried reformatting and both soft and hard resets but the only successful solution has been to reduce the number of contacts to around 2,000. This is a real nuisance since it means that I cannot do a simple synch with Outlook on a regular basis.Does anyone else have this problem? More importantly, does any know a solution so that I can return to normal Outlook synchs as I did on my N95?
