I'm using E72, and I have big problem on this. It never automatic search GSM network when it lost it mean my phone coming to out of service until I go to. Setting -> Phone -> Network to manual search. And here the parameter in my cellphone: Network mode : GSM Operator selection : Automatic.
View 8 Replies80-90% of the time when I am using the Desktop Manager software, I use it to make an internet connection. When I connect my phone to the pc, the software searches for application updates with a window that pops up. Since I do not have an internet connection yet, this is quite pointless. There is a cancel button, but even when pressed it still will take upwords of 30sec-1min before the window goes away, and I can make my internet connection. Is there some way to make the software not search for updates? I am using version 5.0.1 on both winXP pro, and win7 pro.

If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.

The operator (Swisscom) is providing the roaming to this country (UMTS voice), the 3G coverage is good and similar devices with the same contract are working fine. In the UMTS mode, no connection is established in the automatic mode.
When switched to the manual search mode, the device detects the local 3G operators ( DoCoMo, SoftBank). Forced to connect to the network, the device tries for a couple of minutes and returns the "no access" message. I have the impression of a reduced device sensitivity.
The SIM card has been replaced recently and the firmware is up to date. In the GSM mode the device works perfectly.
I've recently experience aproblem with my phone automatically connect to the internet every hour. therefore i set the connection mode to always ask but the mode pops up asking me to connect to the internet every hour. This kinda irritating. I've tried to reformat the phone using the *#7370# but problem still occured.

Scenario:
1. Set target address and let Maps calculate route. so far, so good
2. Start driving. As long as you stay "on route",things are ok
3. You notice that Maps route is not optimal and start driving your own route. Maps does not care.
4. In order to re-calculate route from your current GPS position to same target address. Maps UI gets very clumsy. First you need clear the map, re-enter the target address (well..luckily it's still in search window), ask to Maps to re-route. While doing all this, your car is prob. out of the road already.Why Maps doesn't re-calculate the route automatically when it detects that the GPS position is well "off-the-route". My friend was using his iPhone 3GS + navigation. It did the thing as expected.is this common behaviour of Nokia Maps, or just the N900 version that lags well behind other versions.
Another problem with my new 5230: I have a pre-paid card (Pay and Go, Proximus, Belgium).I left my phone standby (and ... the battery still doesn't last 1 day, see other post) all day.I checked the amount of pre-paid credit I had in the morning.
I checked again a few hours later (and I did not use the phone): credit is decreased !Checked again a few hours later: credit still decreases. this is becoming very expensive (few Euro's a day) so here are my questions:

I would need to get an alert when new emails arrive on my N97. I have tried to set the email programme to Automatic Retrieval > E-mail notifications/Auto-update - but even if I leave the email programme running, I don't get any notifications. What is wrong?

This would be fine if I had free mobile internet on my contract but I don't. My network (Vodafone) charges 50p a day (counted from 12am to 12pm) for unlimited internet so I can see this getting unnecessarily costly.

I don't like this, so I to Menu - settings - phone - phone management -security setting - phone and SIM card . There is a setting for delay for automatic locking. It is 60mins. But when I try to go and select that locking is not used, I get a message saying that you can't disable this function.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWith my N95 and N97, as soon as I turn on my car (equipped with Nokia CK-100), I automatically get connected to BT HFP and A2DP profiles. The car kit will tell me, "Phone connected." A second later, "Player connected." With the N8, the car kit will only connect to just the phone automatically. For the player to connect while the car is on, I have to open up the music player and play a song, which will then force N8 to make the A2DP connection. So when that happens, you hear a 1.5 second message saying, "Player connected" followed by music that is already 2 to 3 seconds into the song. I thought it was perhaps the Car Kit getting full with the list of paired devices (memory is for 8 pairings), but clearing the list doesn't help. I thought it was the Car Kit firmware, so I upgraded it to 4.401, no luck. Then when I paired my old N97 and N95, both HFP and A2DP connections were made automatically when I boot up my car as expected! But not the N8.

I know that there is no way to synchronize my mobile with itunes in a way that pleasant me (itunes agent, itunes sync, salling mediasync give all no playing counts back to itunes). But i am happy to see, that there is an option to import my itunes library to OVI music, so i can administrate my music in itunes and all new music is imported to OVI Music for a sync with my phone.The easiest way to solve this problem would be to make the "Nokia multimedia transfer" running on a windows machine. Is there any plausible reason for not transferring the software from the Mac to Windows. Many Nokia users would be happy about that (cause i am loosing all my playlists, ratings, playing counts, if i switch to OVI Music). And i am sure that many people (including me) that have a nokia mobile and an ipod, would switch to use only the mobile, if them would be given an easy way to synchronize. What is good for an Mac user should be better for a Windows user (since there are certainly more windows user your clients, than mac user that would prefer a iphone)
My aim is to have only Music that a did not play the last month. So all songs should be deleted during the synchronisation on my phone if i heard them the past days.In itunes there is the opportunity to make selfupdating playlists (e. g. only songs not played the last month). So i hear a song on my ipod, make a synchronisation with itunes and the song disappears from the ipod and is replaced by a new song. That is the feature I am missing in OVI Music, where i have no opportunity to make selfupdating playlists.Since you have already selfupdating playlists in OVI Music implemented (recently played, last added,..) There should be a way to make a playlist called "not played the last month".Are there any plans for the future?But there is still one more problem: Some songs are double imported although the songs are only once in the itunes library. Is there the opportunity to find duplicates in the OVI Music?
Whenever I try to record audio during some of my office meetings, the recording is automatically getting paused after 3 - 4 minutes. I need to click on "record" to cotinue again. If i try to record a session of 45 minutes..probably 7 to 8 times i need to check my mobile to see whether it is recording or already paused and if already paused i need to click on record to continue. Do i need to modify any settings so that the recording will continue without automatically pausing.

Mine is enabled and seems to update when my phone connects to a data source (e.g. when retrieving email or when browsing websites) but the time retrieved seems to be about two minutes slow. Where does the phone get it's time signal from? Is this a network thing (i.e. it is Orange that is running slow) or does it obtain the time from a Nokia server?
Finally can I change the server it obtains the time from?
