there is a new application in the extras-testingrepo. it works great and if you have a lot of applications installed and do not want to swap pages to search, this makes it easy to find any application with a couple of keystrokes.
I am using nokia 603 since 15 days ago but there is a problem in the phone. The problem is that my search homescreen widget is not working I restore all apps and other things but still widget is not working.
Where do I get the ovi software for my mobile..? I answered yes to install new version today and it installed then crashed. Subsequently the phone started thowing kinds of errors when starting apps. Had to uninstall OVI from my phone. Phone now works OK but can only access ovi via web. I would like OVI app back on my phone.

My Google search widget disappeared from my home screen. Long pressing on the home screen just puts a rectangle around the screen and brings up the delete option.
After one year almost with my XPeria X8, yesterday I came across a Widget named "Smart Search". It opens a great contact search with a small dial pad and the list of found contacts. It searches by the text or numbers typed on the dial pad, and is very fast. Much better than installing a third-party app.But the widget is HUGE. And I don't need a widget. Instead, I just want a shortcut to the application. Widgets use more memory anyway.how can I access the Smart Search without using the widget?
So I woke up this morning and noticed the Google search widget had changed itself from a smoke colored transparent look to a solid white look. I've done nothing that would alter this and I don't even think it can be changed by the user.Did it update itself and this is part of the update?
So I usually DO NOT have the Google search bar widget that stays at the top of all of my home screens but now it's there. Not only that but it is unresponsive, I can't type in it, the mic doesn't respond, it's there but not working and I don't want it to begin with. My phone did a bunch of updates today, I wonder if some update messed it up. It has moforoot and KitKat....
I was having a problem connecting on a widget so I deleted it and reinstalled. The reinstallation was odd, the widget appeared "waiting" for several minutes and then disappeared. I went to the app store again and it shows that it is installed. The apps listed on my phone also show that it is installed. How can I delete it?
I recenetly just bought the Galaxy S5 and its working great. But for some reason when I try to add the twitter widget to the home screen or any of the screens I get the message "application not installed." This is only happening with twitter. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but same message. I did a factory reset as well but no luck. The application itself works if I go through the app itself.
80-90% of the time when I am using the Desktop Manager software, I use it to make an internet connection. When I connect my phone to the pc, the software searches for application updates with a window that pops up. Since I do not have an internet connection yet, this is quite pointless. There is a cancel button, but even when pressed it still will take upwords of 30sec-1min before the window goes away, and I can make my internet connection. Is there some way to make the software not search for updates? I am using version 5.0.1 on both winXP pro, and win7 pro.
This is for a 32GB One, (AT&T carrier). I use the phone to listen to music on a motorcycle, specifically to stream Pandora and I plug the phone into the sound system of the bike. Not sure how important it is but the only time this happens is when it is plugged into the bike so it seems odd that Voice search would do anything- I assumed the built in mic would be inactive since the phone thinks it is connected to a headset but I haven't tested that (just a thought).
The problem is that the phone will launch Google's voice-driven search application for no apparent reason. I have tried turning Google Now off and went into the "Voice" settings and disabled hotword detection but the app still randomly launches.
When the app self launches, the phone goes nuts cutting out Pandora, tries to dial various numbers (but typically is a re-dial of the last number). I am too new to Android to realize what is launching this and can't figure out how to kill or disable Voice Search. I have tried going to Settings-->Apps and all apps but I could not specifically find the Voice Search app.
Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.
I've been trying to get RSS feeds to appear on the the homescreen of my N97, but without success. I can get the feeds no problem using the browser, but when I go to 'add content' on the homescreen, there's no option to add these feeds, as stated in numerous tutorials on the web. I'm using firmware V20 and with Vodaphone.
I have searched everywhere and know that there is a "Set up email" button to click but this will setup a mail box in my Messaging folder (together with SMS sutff), NOT the push email client widget that I used before when I was able to go to email.nokia.com and entered my phone number. An SMS would be sent to my phone and I was able to configure the emails using the "SMS provisioning" feature which would result in NO mail box setup in the Messaging folder, but a (push) widget email client instead. I live in the US and am using N97, latest firmware (v21 something). When I go to email.nokia.com and try to get the software and it asks me to go to email.nokia.com on my phone which results in a mailbox setup in the Messaging folder, which is not what I want. Anyone got the same problem?
How to get back the cnbc TV -18 widget which I removed from my nokia n97 mini accidentally. I could not find it on ovi-store site even. or Should I reset my phone to initial factory settings . Will it help? as initially it was there on it when i have purchased it
After updating my software to v 21.0.045 i found my phone is working better than before with one exception. I can't add the last widget on the main screen. It can only let me change wallpaper? I tried to reset using phone, using code, restarting a few times etc Nothing helped.I even sent a message to Nokia helpline explaining all what has happened and they send me a silly email back with simple ""use "add content" in order to add widget to your main screen "Somebody help! If you know how to add the last widget please let me know.
Ps 1. I didn't have this problem with my old software. Ps 2. I attached a photo to prove it.
I use the mail widget on my N8 which I never switch off, only turning it to "battery saving" at night. I notice that every 2 or 3 days, the widget does not launch the mail app anymore when I tap it. Power on/off cycle resumes correct behavior.I am currently trying to find if anything special might trigger the bug, but did not find anything so far.
When using the Nat Geo widget recently I got a message stating that there was an update available. I ran the update but the next time I restarted the phone the widget was gone from my 3rd home screen (where it was is empty). I tried adding it again but it does not appear on the list of available widgets. When I go into Application Manager -> Installed Applications and view the log it says the last installed app is Nat Geo (2.03(6)). how I can get the widget back?
I have accidentally removed the facebook desktop widget. I cant find it again to install it. It doesnt appear in the app manager. Can someone please tell me how to install it again?
I have an Nokia N97 and i love it.There is only 1 thing i hate about the phone, and that is that you can't remove the clock/date/profile widget when you swipe the screen.I'm not the only one who thinks that way.It would be nice if Nokia makes this option available.
I tried installing the Nokia Weather Widget on my E6 but for some unknown reason, I cant open it when installed. I am currently using the AccuWeather Shortcut but I prefer to see the weather updated on the screen rather than to have to open the app everytime I want to know the weather.
I have an interesting problem with my N8 (this is an up to date phone, no hacking, no CFW).I have removed the Nokia Social App widget from the second screen, than I wanted to put them back again. Ohhh... I can't find the Social App widget in the widget list. I don't know why because I never hacked my phone, I download apps only from the store, etc... I am a little disappointed guys :
I have uninstalled the Social App and the widget app from the applications. I ran a software update check, which show me the Social App to download, it is ok, it was reinstall successfully, but... where is the widget for the Social app?So how can I reinstall the Nokia Social App widget again? Where can I download it?
Why is it so big now? It takes up nearly half a home screen. I'm using facebook summary now but I have to click on it rather than just glancing at what's going on with the narrow widget info of my friends updates. If you're happy with the narrow social widget for that reason then don't update, also if you're not into this fat Belle widget thing Nokia seems to have going. There's a difference between giving us the option to have more home screens to actually forcing us to use them. Nokia, you're winding me up.
when the facebook widget is enabled, my Nokia C6 mantains an open 3G connection indefinitely. Is there a way to schedule a time-interval for the widget update, like the e-mail widget (15 min.-30 min. etc...)?
Fully updated software,Maps and Drive work fine - no probs at all. When I first added the "my location" widget worked fine - great idea - useful for quickly bookmarking a location. But now it won't update, just stays blank, or says can't find location, and when I go to maps, it finds me immediately.I can't find any setting for the widget
I tried to log in to facebook direct on the web and my phone told me I had to install an update. I pressed ok but it then told me I had too many things open and to go close some. I went and closed some but when I got back to the page it said it had aborted the update. I then went back to my homescreen and the widget had disappeared!
