Nokia :: 5230 Restarting Automatically After Firmware Update
Apr 23, 2010I have a Nokia 5230 new phone which I purchased during March-2010. Yesterday, I update the firmware of my phone from v12.0.089 to v20.0.005.The update was done through the Nokia Software Updater and it was successful. However, after that the phone started behaving abnormally and it is getting restarted automatically. For example: whenever any call is coming and I want to receive that call, i click on the receive call button and then the phone gets restarted automatically. Similarly, even if I reject the call, it restarts.Kindly let me know what is the issue and how to fix the same.

Oct 9, 2011Last day suddenly I saw that my E7 displayed "Critical update failed, removing the software."then it hangs, I had to restart my phone. After restarting I noticed that all my settings are gone. In my home screen by default all the icons, mailing and widgets are default, which was there when I bought the phone more than 6 months back. It is set to the three home screens, as if it is new phone.I cheked the menu and observe that all the apps that I downloaded are there even new Symbian anna is also there, mail settings are as it is.So what the apps/ software it was downloading without intimidating me I don't know, even I don't know till now what exactly happenned. Is it that Nokia was doing something over the Air (OTA), and which failed?

Oct 16, 2011I have been a Nokia E72 user since jan 11 and have been facing some problems with the phone. Initially the phone used to abruptly hang and would require the battery to be taken out & reinserted to start the phone. After the Firmware update the problem got reduced but now the phone hangs and automatically restarts. This is quite frequent & very irritating. I have tried the hard & soft reset but the problem still remains the same. The firmware that i am using is 054.005 / make - Malaysia.

Feb 8, 2010I searched for the answer but did not find one.To make a long story short...I have a jailbroken 3GS 3.1.2. I unlocked using blacksnow and started having network problems. I did a network reset while connected to itunes(not while syncing) and now my phone seems to have bricked. All I get is the apple logo screen for several minutes, it goes out and starts all over. It looks like it wants to reboot but it's getting hung up somewhere. After an hour or so I decided to do a restore. I'm afraid that restoring will automatically install 3.1.3. I want to stay with 3.1.2 so that I can re-jailbreak.

Sep 6, 2015I've got this problem since yesterday. my s5 is running 5.0 so i went to "About Device" hit the software update button and it updated though its still 5.0 Lollipop. So i went back to About device and unchecked automatic update. It still kept on connecting to server and downloading update. So it updated again after it updated and rebooted the device it still connected to the server on its own and started downloading updates again. I know i might have a lot of updates to download but is there a way i can stop this because its annoying. why despite downloading these updates my OS is still 5.0? r they firmware or security etc updates? performance updates?

Sep 25, 2011I have installed the 2.3.4 update 3 days before and after that I have noticed that my E-mails are getting deleted automatically from INBOX. I have configured the default E-mail client with POP3 configuration. Everyday older mails are getting deleted from INBOX automatically. Strange thing is that older mails are getting deleted from INBOX only (not from TRASH or SEND box). With 2.3.3 I was not getting this issue. I was able to view 2-3 days older mails also in 2.3.3. But after installing 2.3.4, whenever I'm opening INBOX, Older mails are getting replaced with new mails automatically. I want my older emails to be in INBOX also.

Jan 3, 2016I am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!

Jun 19, 2010My E71 started giving me a new problem since the last few days:Firstly, I was not able to charge the battery. I succeeded after fiddling with the charging point, there were flashes on the screen, but it resumed charging.I was not able to start up the phone - pressing the power button didn't seem to work. Even taking the battery out and re-trying was like a trial and error method. It works, but I have to try more than once.The phone switches off automatically. If there is movement, e.g. walking with the phone in my pocket, it is definitely going to be switched off.If the phone lies unused for a relatively long period of time, e.g. 30 min, the power saver screen hangs up and I have resort to taking the battery out and follow the entire process.This seems to have started all of a sudden without any prior warning. I shall be grateful to anyone who can help me address this problem.

Mar 18, 2010I just recently bought a E71. I had an E61i for two years. I was able to setup my Gmail account seamlessly using the email wizard, however I have noticed that the E71 will not sync my emails automatically. I have to turn the device on and off and it will then synch with my Gmail.
When looking at the connection log when "Send and Receive" is set to "Soonest", the device would not sync emails throughout the day. I then changed "Send and Receive" to Every Hour and the log would show that the device would sync successfully every hour, but still it does not show that their is new email in my mailbox. I have to manually select "Sync" for new email to appear.
Any ideas about how I can fix this?I checked and according to Nokia Software update, I have the latest firmware for my model E71, I have a E71-2, code 056937 with 300.21.012. .I noticed the same issue with the E61i and was hoping that this would be resolved with the E71.

Mar 7, 2010My wifi and packet data connections are set to turn on "After Confirmation" (instead of Automatic).FOr Internet access, Maps, and Nokia Messaging I have set the Access Point to Wifi and set it to "Always Ask" (for incoming & outgoing).Before I set up Nokia Messaging for my POP account the wifi would come on whenever I selected the Access point when an application requested it, and then turn off once the application was closed. However, after I have set up Nokia Messaging with 4 hour sync the wifi keeps turning on by itself. Even if I disconnect the active connection it turns on automatically within a couple of minutes.Nokia Messaging pops up every four hours asking if it can use the wifi. Even if I have terminated the active wifi a couple of minutes earlier, it will turn on as soon as I select "Cancel" for the popup from Nokia Messaging. In other words, no matter what I do, wifi turns on automatically and stays on till I disconnect it after which it turns on automatically.I have updated to the latest firmware nokia had for the phone. I have rechecked the settings several times and made sure no other application is active or trying to access the Net.All I am looking for is for the wifi ti turn on when checking mail and then turn off untill needed after 4 hours, so that batter life is not being used uselessly.

When i switch on the mobile its automatically switch off and then on again. It Atuomatically Switch on and off again and again many times till it gets ON fully. someone told me that its software get corrupted you may need to flash out the software and re-install.
