My Iphone is not automatically updating my Yahoo email unless I go in and manually refresh. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it does not. Verizon has deleted and readded my email account many times. It notifies me for a few hours, and then stops. Then, it will start again. My husband's works fine, and I have matched his settings.

I've noticed that yahoo emails don't automatically download on my phone anymore - when I launch the mail app (the built-in apple one, NOT the yahoo mail app), then it downloads all new messages, but other than that, they're not getting pushed automatically. They used to automatically get pushed, and I haven't changed any settings.

I have a iphone 4s and my Yahoo emails are automatically being deleted! I have researched and seen other people having this issue after the update but I do not have the option to "Look down for Mail Days to Sync" and to then choose no limit from the settings, mail/contacts/calendars, yahoo account...
When I first got this phone the email worked fine and just started doing this not too long ago! Also, all of my emails have been deleted from my yahoo account because my phone deleted them!

both me and my wife have the Atrix 4G and both have not been getting update of our Yahoo e-mail, for the same acct., since 1/11/12. I deleted the acct. and re added it. Now it keeps pulling up some emails. but not all. Also, non of the archive folders are there.We both have a gmail acct. too and those are updating fine.

Since last evening (3rd May), I've been having intermittent issues sending email through my Yahoo! mail account. Common symptoms include a pop-up window stating:
Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Typically, this is followed by the message being place in the Outbox.
Sometimes, the message actually does go out when the iPhone says that is could not send the message.At others, after a very long period of time, the "swoosh" sound tells me that a message was sent.
This is a new symptom and I have not changed my mail settings at all. I have tried deleting my mail account and re-adding the same, but no help. I've tried sending email from another iPhone, same issue. I've also verified that this is not isolated to my account, since my wife was complaining about the same symptom on her phone using her Yahoo! email account.
Yahoo email is not pushing to my iphone for more than a week now. I've tried everything I could, nothings seems to work.I deleted the account, add it again, added one more server, I even did a restore, no succes. I have to mention that gmail and icloud are fine.

Today on my iPhone I'm getting the error message "The user name and password for "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.
I've tried all the tips recommended by various well meaning folks:
1. rebooting (many times)
2. changing my yahoo password - doesn't contain any special characters
3. verifying access via a browser (used the new Chrome one!)
4. adding another choice for SMTP server (smtp.mail.yahoo.com) - a tip from 2008!
5. added my gmail account - it works fine
I'm out of ideas. This is a problem with the device communicating with Yahoo's mail servers, which are evidently functioning as expected. Is it time to visit a genius bar?? Don't really want to access email via the browser (like driving on one of those temporary spares).

Morning cb community...I've got a weird issue going on...not an annoyance or deal breaker just curious. Anyways lately and randomly my phones ringtone for my yahoo email goes off and there isn't an email. It vibrates and the berrybuzz led and color goes off too. The weird thing is is that there isn't even an unread email indicator with the number. The phone just goes off. Its weird. I've done battery pulls and stuff. Any thoughts? It just has me wondering. All this time iPhone was out on the market, i needed a way to make the Mail.app to scan into my email folders. i have a Yahoo! account set up and it's only for the Inbox. i have filters/rules that redirect emails to certain folders in the yahoo email account, but the iOS Mail.app doesn't scan in there. is there an alternative? other than entering - step by step - in all the folders?
