View 8 Replies View RelatedI googled all that I can and I'm still very fustrated. I want to be able to arrange my email accounts in a order that I want. Currently my phone chooses to list my email accounts as it sees fit. Now I've tried deleting all of my accounts and adding them in the order that I want them to be in but for some reason the phone just wont let me do this. I have 3 accounts, iCould, Gmail and Hotmail. And they are listed in that order. Now no matter what I do the Hotmail account ALWAYS says on the bottom of the list. Like i said I've deleted them all and added them accordingly but it does not work. I've tired to sync them thru iTunes but it does not show in the info tab.

Another very annoying thing is that everytime I open the mail app it opens to the iCould account by default. I want it to open to my primary account which is the Hotmail account.

I monitor my email very closely as I work for a 24-7 emergency call center and I would like to have a way to differentiate my emails by the rintone assigned to them. I will go through and delete emails and then a minute later I will get the same emails back again as unread. However, the ones that I have read and kept, show up as read.Â
I found an answer which led me to believe that when I transferred from my 4s and had trouble with the email accounts I must have set them up twice, although I only see one listing of each account on my device. But the answer didn't explain how to fix the situation. I think it may also be eating up my battery life.

Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
Since last evening (3rd May), I've been having intermittent issues sending email through my Yahoo! mail account. Common symptoms include a pop-up window stating:
Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Typically, this is followed by the message being place in the Outbox.
Sometimes, the message actually does go out when the iPhone says that is could not send the message.At others, after a very long period of time, the "swoosh" sound tells me that a message was sent.
This is a new symptom and I have not changed my mail settings at all. I have tried deleting my mail account and re-adding the same, but no help. I've tried sending email from another iPhone, same issue. I've also verified that this is not isolated to my account, since my wife was complaining about the same symptom on her phone using her Yahoo! email account.

Today on my iPhone I'm getting the error message "The user name and password for "apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.
I've tried all the tips recommended by various well meaning folks:
1. rebooting (many times)
2. changing my yahoo password - doesn't contain any special characters
3. verifying access via a browser (used the new Chrome one!)
4. adding another choice for SMTP server (smtp.mail.yahoo.com) - a tip from 2008!
5. added my gmail account - it works fine
I'm out of ideas. This is a problem with the device communicating with Yahoo's mail servers, which are evidently functioning as expected. Is it time to visit a genius bar?? Don't really want to access email via the browser (like driving on one of those temporary spares).

Recently I've been having issues with my Yahoo account on my iPhone4. I have 2 accounts setup on my IPhone, one Gmail and one Yahoo. Recently when trying to update my Yahoo inbox, I've been getting an error message stating I have the Incorrect username or password. Each time this has happened, I've gone to Settings and noticed the stored password under my Yahoo account has been changed somehow. I retype the correct password, it verifies it with yahoo, and then instantly re-displays the incorrect password (obvious b/c it is 3 digits longer than my actual password)?
