i have a nokia x6 with maps 3.04 installed. i have been messing with the positioning methods settings, and i forgot what the defaults were. can someone tell me what the default settings were for the positioning methods?
i have reinstalled the maps, but i still get the same settings i have after i messed with them.Do you want to get all the firmware updates for your phone? Get a SIM-free one!
When go to positioning methods settings in my E72, there are only Bluetooth GPS and Network Based.Is that normal? Shouldn't there be A-GPS and Integrated GPS as well?How do I activate them?

Therefore i have to select a positioning method first each time before I can use GPS with the new Ovi Maps.
This is really annoying.Is this a known bug and is there a solution for this?
I have a question concerning the different positioning methods that are offered by Nokia Belle and which can be selected in settings>application settings>positioning>positioning methods.So far I have only used "Integrated GPS", because I am frequently travelling abroad and would like to avoid using a mobile data connection. However, I still wonder if all the other options actually require a connection to the internet. I know that A-GPS needs a connection, but what about the WLAN/Network option? Does the device really connect to an available WLAN network, or does it only search for Networks without a connection? And what does the last option on the list, "Network-based" mean (I am not sure if this is the proper English translation)? I tried to choose only this method and disabled all the other ones (also integrated GPS), but then the device couldn't find the position.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed the latest firmware on my E52 (v031.012) and the latest Ovi maps v3.03. Since, I haven't managed to find my position by using either A-GPS or by the cell that I was in.With the Ovi maps that I had before, the phone was able to position me on the map, based on the gsm/3g cell that I was in in a matter of seconds. Also, it was able to get a GPS fix in a few tens of seconds, probably based on A-GPS.Now the GPS positioning is very slow and working only in open air. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

View 3 Replies View Relatedupgraded my X3-02 to firmware 5.60, but failed to backup before the update. The results, an empty fone with a new firmware, with everything else is now gone. The fone settings, certificates, apps, even OVI store now is not in the phone anymore.Trying hard to find all over the net to find solution for this. I thought maybe if i can at least get Ovi Store back, then i can install back all the missing apps. However its impossible to find the Ovi Store installer for X3-02 anywhere. Trying to install apps through web browser always give me certificate error. always.
I figured, maybe, just maybe, the best thing to overcome this is for someone to help me on the backup. Maybe other X3-02 user can help, if you dont mind, backup your data settings + applications into a file, and send it to me so i can restore that to my fone. dont mind any extra games@apps Some default apps (e.g: facebook) are not available to install from anywhere, isk. also i need back the missing certificates, and owh, OVI store!
Does anyone know how to change the default Calendar settings? Each time I schedule a meeting the time change does not reflect an hour block of time, it has the meeting begin and end at the same time. Also, I have to manually select the alarm button each time.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWith the E52, I can view a photo (with geotag) with the default photo viewer. Select "Option/Show on Maps" and it will automatically opens up Nokia Maps showing where that photo was taken. And to navigate to that place.
With the N8 photo viewer, there isn't any such option. Is there any apps that could do that?

very time when I try to open Options -> Tools -> Setting and after Internet tab to change connection settings the program terminates completely. Other tabs of Settings page (Navigation, Route etc.) works well. Due this bug I can't to go online.I upgraded to Maps v3 but problem still exist.

but, i have a problem. i used the vodafone sim card i have for the maps, and after some help from the store, i hav managed to get them working. they are fantastic.but here lies the problem: if i use my o2 sim, the maps application refuses to connect, stating a connection failure. however, the web browser works fine.are there any particular setting that i need to make to make the maps app connect when i am using the o2 sim?

Naturally, this takes up more battery power because 2 connection types are being used at the same time.Now, I know that this can also be changed by unchecking the "integrated GPS" in Positioning, under the Application Settings.What I'd like to know is if there is a way to unable it but only for Foursquare so that I do not need to go to my settings to turn it on every time I want to use my GPS apps such as Garmin Mobile XT or Nokia Maps.

The accuracy of the estimate increases in densely populated areas.Im using newest firmware and newest Ovi Maps (free always) 3.03 and have downloaded the maps to my device (5800ME). Setting Maps only to go online on my acceptance.No problems so far.But when starting Ovi Maps the cell ID based positioning is using up mobile data traffic. I dont want that. Wait for an update or is there a setting?I guess AGPS always tries via mobil data - but in my country free GPS is perfectly enough.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi've recently started having problems with ovi maps and it's internet settings. i'm not sure when the problem started but whenever i try to access internet settings (because i want to change my connection from wifi to wap) the program just exits back to the nokia menu however all the other menus work fine. i've made a short video to show you exactly what i mean.

as you can see as soon as i press to access the internet menu it kicks me out, but i can access the navigation tab just fine then i tried to go accross to internet settings and it kicks me out again. i have already tried deleting cities folder and .qf file to no avail. i have also tried to go offline before accessing internet settings which didn't work either. i even installed nokia maps 2.0 which wasn't for this phone but installed just wouldn't work then reinstalled ovi 3 to no avail either!
How to reinstall the maps in C-007. I brought one month and I did factory setting, now I can't find the Maps Icon on the list, I tried to download through ovimaps its says launch but I can't launch the maps. The message says it couldn't find maps on your device or corrupted, I checked in mass memory E but I cant find Cities files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading my phone to Anna, I am no longer getting GPS locks under AGPS at all. Previously, I had no trouble acquiring these locks.I did look at positioning methods and chose the right home network settings (set to NO) and I have created new server supl.google.com in addition to supl.nokia.com but to no avail... There is no choice for selecting an access point for these positioning servers, so I'm not sure if the data requests for positions are getting through at all...I installed LeGPSData and can see that there are 10-12 satellites in view but none in use.. The GPS locking problem seems to affect Ovi Maps, Google Maps or Viewranger... basically any tool that depends on Nokia's AGPS implementation......

Apps that rely on finding your loaction will not work because BBMaps cannot find my location so i would like to change the default to Google maps but it doesnt appear in the drop-down list.
