Nokia :: Server Of GPS Positioning Accidentaly Deleted?
Jan 24, 2010
I've downloaded the new free Ovi maps, but my friend played with my 5800XM and he deleted me the server of GPS positioning. Can someone please post me here the original erver of GPS positioning ?
I keep getting the following message when using the new Ovi Maps Navigation - Connection to network positioning server required. Costs may be incurred. If I say no then I can continue and get the free navigation as advertised, but is there any way of stopping this message coming up?
After upgrading my phone to Anna, I am no longer getting GPS locks under AGPS at all. Previously, I had no trouble acquiring these locks.I did look at positioning methods and chose the right home network settings (set to NO) and I have created new server supl.google.com in addition to supl.nokia.com but to no avail... There is no choice for selecting an access point for these positioning servers, so I'm not sure if the data requests for positions are getting through at all...I installed LeGPSData and can see that there are 10-12 satellites in view but none in use.. The GPS locking problem seems to affect Ovi Maps, Google Maps or Viewranger... basically any tool that depends on Nokia's AGPS implementation......
I did accidentaly format my SD card in my new X8.There were some quite nice ringtones preinstalled. How can I get/download from somewhere , all data that was preinstalled (pictures , ringtones etc.)
1. I Have to mail-Accounts set up on my E52 (one pop the other IMAP).Both have inbox, outbox and sent but no box for deleted objects. The German handbook does not say how to change that.
2. Since the last update (I guess) the phone deletes messages from the (POP- ) server when deleted on the phone. Is there any way to prevent the mail client on the phone to do that?
When go to positioning methods settings in my E72, there are only Bluetooth GPS and Network Based. Is that normal? Shouldn't there be A-GPS and Integrated GPS as well? How do I activate them?
I have installed the latest firmware on my E52 (v031.012) and the latest Ovi maps v3.03. Since, I haven't managed to find my position by using either A-GPS or by the cell that I was in.With the Ovi maps that I had before, the phone was able to position me on the map, based on the gsm/3g cell that I was in in a matter of seconds. Also, it was able to get a GPS fix in a few tens of seconds, probably based on A-GPS.Now the GPS positioning is very slow and working only in open air. Does anybody have a solution to this problem?
After I updated my 700 to FP1 it has some serious problems. At first the maps won't open and after I fixed that it doesn't locate me even outside my house.. How to fix that?
How do I allow a website to use the phones gps to locate me on a map. Can I allow specific websites or the browser in general to use the gps positioning.
I'm using Foursquare on a Nokia N8-00.I notice that the built-in GPS is always being used by Foursquare even if it's already connected to the internet anyway. Naturally, this takes up more battery power because 2 connection types are being used at the same time. Now, I know that this can also be changed by unchecking the "integrated GPS" in Positioning, under the Application Settings. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to unable it but only for Foursquare so that I do not need to go to my settings to turn it on every time I want to use my GPS apps such as Garmin Mobile XT or Nokia Maps.
From the manual: When the GPS connection is active, marks your current or last known location on the map. If the icon's colours are faint,no GPS signal is available. If only cell ID based positioning is available, a red halo around the positioning icon indicates the general area you might be in. The accuracy of the estimate increases in densely populated areas.Im using newest firmware and newest Ovi Maps (free always) 3.03 and have downloaded the maps to my device (5800ME). Setting Maps only to go online on my acceptance. No problems so far.But when starting Ovi Maps the cell ID based positioning is using up mobile data traffic. I dont want that. Wait for an update or is there a setting?I guess AGPS always tries via mobil data - but in my country free GPS is perfectly enough.
On my Nokia N97 mini the positioning methods are not stored.NO positioning method at all is by default stored in my N97 mini.
Therefore i have to select a positioning method first each time before I can use GPS with the new Ovi Maps. This is really annoying. Is this a known bug and is there a solution for this?
I have a question concerning the different positioning methods that are offered by Nokia Belle and which can be selected in settings>application settings>positioning>positioning methods. So far I have only used "Integrated GPS", because I am frequently travelling abroad and would like to avoid using a mobile data connection. However, I still wonder if all the other options actually require a connection to the internet. I know that A-GPS needs a connection, but what about the WLAN/Network option? Does the device really connect to an available WLAN network, or does it only search for Networks without a connection? And what does the last option on the list, "Network-based" mean (I am not sure if this is the proper English translation)? I tried to choose only this method and disabled all the other ones (also integrated GPS), but then the device couldn't find the position.
In the menu of Nokia 800, it stated that A-GPS can be stitched off in your phone positioning settings. But I cannot find the "positioning settings" on the phone.
i have a nokia x6 with maps 3.04 installed. i have been messing with the positioning methods settings, and i forgot what the defaults were. can someone tell me what the default settings were for the positioning methods?
i have reinstalled the maps, but i still get the same settings i have after i messed with them.Do you want to get all the firmware updates for your phone? Get a SIM-free one!
I use Outlook for business email and my SG2 for it while away. On return I find that the mail has been deleted from the server so is not available for Outlook. I have found no setting on the SG2 for stopping this whereas it is available on my partners HCT.
The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?
I like the consolidated inbox (messaging) on the RAZR Maxx. I only have 1 significant issue with the app.
We need an option/feature so that when you delete messages from the email server that they are removed from the phone. Having to redundantly delete messages from the phone that have already been deleted from the server is ridiculous.
The opposite is provided ... you can choose if you want to delete messages from the server when you delete them from the phone but the reverse needs to be provided as well.
When this happens, it never makes it to my outlook on PC, which is where I address my email. Most fixes will say go to settings on "incoming mail" and check "never" delete from server, S6 does NOT have this option.
today my company's email provider changed the hostname for the Exchange server, so I'm stuck with my E72 not syncronizing any more, since I can't edit the server name field in the configuration properties.First of all: is this behavior by design? Because in case it is, the "Change" item in the Options menu should really be removed.
I've been connected to my work email account through Microsoft Exchange for the past year with no problems. I was trying to send out an email today, and my iPhone could not connect to the server. I tried to re-connect multiple times, ultimately deleting the email account from my phone and attempting to re-install it. When I put in all the info into their respective fields and hit "next," all I get is a message that says "Exchange account verification failed." When I go through and save it anyway and try and update emails, it says that it cannot connect to the server. My IT dept. says no changes were made, and I've already tried a restore and restored from a backup, as well.I have no contacts, emails, or calendar on my phone!
By default in my IMAP mailbox I can only see 4 folders- Inbox,Drafts,Sent Items,Outbox. To see other folders I need to click on More Folders and select the folder to view. Is there a way I can swap one of the above prelisted folder with 'Sent' or any other server folder of my choice? Also when I send any email using phone, a copy of the email is stored in the 'Sent Items' folder. But I would like the copy in the 'Sent' folder of my mailserver so that I can see the email even when I access my email using my laptop. Is this possible ?
have nokia e72-1. when i try to use internet via wifi, all things are right, wp key is valid, but error shows that ' INVALID SERVER NAME'. have anybody face this problem?, if yes can you tell me the solution for ti, i have a apple mobile also that is working fine with wifi. i have latest firmware of e72-1.
I am a little bit confused about the working of GPS enabled phones like how they work and get your exact location. I use E71 phone which has integrated phone and I have downloaded nokia maps to my phone. My question is: My phone is directly communicating to satelite to get my location or is it going to some other GPS server or Nokia GPS server. I am very much sure that if you want to know your exact location then GPS has to contacted your device directly. But still have some confusions.
In-case of my phone is directly communicating to satelite then it should work without GPRS or internet connection on phone. But the interesting part is it doesn't.Can anyone please put some light on this and my request is do not put your thinking only reply for which you are sure and can provide some material if you have.
I have updated to 2.2009.51-1.002. I can access my exchange server over a web browser, so data connection is working, and I have the right details. I do get a message about invalid certificates on Firefox. On the N900 I get the message "either exchange requires secure connection or account is disabled".
Reinstalled Map Loader 3.0 many times as well as map updater. Neither of them are working at the moment for some reason. I recently did a format on my phone and it wiped all the programmes clean and bumped me back to factory loaded Nokia Maps 2 for my E71. Now I ran map updater and got the error "Connection to Map Server Interrupted" etc etc. Dug around and found a OVI Map 3 installer they used for macs fixed that. Now Map Loader won't work either, returns with cannot load catalogue. I've got maps before like a year ago, whats up now? I've tried on both my computers and the other virtually has 0 security. The router is fine nothing should be blocking it. Tried it on another internet connection and nothing is working.
I wonder when we'll have any feedback from Nokia Support? It must be the new Nokia Ovi Suite causing the problem because we all have the same problems. I have tried on three different computers with good stable internet connections and get the "connection timed out" error on all of them. Using Nokia 5230 and have tried both on XP and Vista.
After installing the latest NOKIA software updater, the OVI Suite is not connecting to the map server. It stays: "Wait while retreiving the available maps." for ever. I unistalled the updater, but the problem is still there. Any ideas to solve this?
