I was updating my nokia 5800 software to 40.0.005. After update i cant able to receive or reject a call when the device is in unlock mode. In unlock Mode when call is incoming the touch screen don't works. But after unlocking i am able to receive or reject the active call. This problem is not occurred in my phone when the earlier version of the software is installed.
View 2 RepliesI have a Blackberry 9500 Storm locked to Vodafone and recently bought an unlock code from Ebay to use on my Orange sim. After following the unlock procedure the phone accepted the orange sim and shows "security disabled". But I can't use the phone to make or receive calls and texts. I have checked the network settings and they are showing up orange. I have contacted the ebay seller but they just said check sim card activated - which it is.

My Atrix 2, v ICS had the screen locked into 'emergancy calls only' mode, and won't unlock. I did a hot boot, cold boot, reboot, called att tech support, no luck. Haven't done a factory or master reset, and don't want to if not needed. Will accept inbound calls, but can't open anything, and MotoCast can't find the phone, Motophone tools not for this phone OS.

When I put my phone on charger at night it enters bedside mode. Currently I have it set to silent for all. However, I would like two things to get through. Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.

But I am unable to connect the phone to the computer in pc suite mode.
I updated the software on the computer as required by the update, but then it would not recognise the connection to the phone so I cant update it.
I can connect it mass storage mode, but as soon as I connect via PC Suite the usb connection dies. I am able to connect via bluetooth, but this doesn't help as it says I need to conect via PC Suite to receive the update.
How would I be able to connect the phone to the computer via PC Suite mode to get the upgrade?
I am now on my 2nd 5800, got my first one last February and was able to use it for a whole month, till I took the SIM out of it, thats when my problems began, I've had 2 new SIMs, the phone was away for repair 3 times then I got a new one in November 2009 and guess what same problem, it wont change from off line to on line, no matter how many times I put the SIM in, so that one has been away for repair and surprise surprise it still doesn't work, thankfully I still have my old N95 which works and I use that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm experiencing some weird problems on my 5800 xm. When I unlock the phone after it has been locked for a while the touch screen doesn't react at all. But if I lock and unlock again, it starts to work. Not a very big problem but kinda annoying. The other problem is that none of the physical buttons are working, except for the on/off button.
All those problems came at once and from no where. I hadn't installed or updated anything recently when it came. I've tried to update to v.50 and I've tried a "soft reset" but it isn't working. I can't do a hard reset since the buttons used for doing aren't working.
It feels like it's some kind of software problem rather than a hardware problem or what do you think? Anything I can try before going back to the store?
Whenever I seem to unlock the phone on the side, or whenever i switch it on vertical /horizontal coloured lines appear on screen. I have tried firmware updates but nothing is working. I've bought the phone second hand, and had it a while, and have no recipet for it..

View 4 Replies View Relatedi'm from italy and i've just installed on my nokia 5800 the new ovi maps suite (after having updated the phone firmware, now i have 40.0.005).I've already unchecked the assisted-gps option in "positioning".When i use Maps, the phone finds the signal and track my location perfectly; after having set a destination it starts giving me directions (correct) but, after a few seconds, asks me to go to the shop. Since i don't want to go online (my data plan is awful) i select "no" and the planification disappears, returning on the interactive map.
I'd like to know what to to, if there's a method to use offline navigation without additional roaming cost.
Once my 5800 is plugged into the usb port is shows has a Nokia OVI suite. You cant double click it like a normal removable drive, you have to expand it to get the following folders :
Which folder does the videos reside in and which folder does the images reside it that I want to transfer from the phone to the computer .
I have always had Sony phones in the past and they have specific folders for Video , Picture and Audio. The Nokia is confusing the hell out of me
I want to use the 'sequence' image capture mode of the camera to take images at a defined time interval. If I use the sequence mode the 5800 camera shoots a series of photos fast. I want to adjust this time interval. The Nokia 5800 user manual says that this is possible by selecting the desired time interval.

However I am not seeing any such option for adjusting the time interval in the settings! Has anyone used this functionality? How do I set the time interval between sequenced image captures?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call.Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.

When I have the headset on, and someone calls me, the ringtone can be heard from both the speakers and the headsets, which I think make no sense at all. if I touch the option "answer" it is not working, I need to unlock first then need to touch the "answer" to attend the call,can some one help me what could be the probem?
so I have the maps loaded onto my phone, but when I use the Directions (like sat nav) mode it quits after 30 secs with the message 'Enter Shop' or something like that? I am using the service offline - if that makes any difference?

1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.
I have a problem with text boxes at the home-screen bottom about new messages and missed calls. Those notifications are not showing any more. I guess it happened since I installed BestBlacklist free applications from ovi site. Then I uninstalled that application and even restored factory settings, but notifications didn't come back. At the same time notification lights and logs working OK. How can I make those home screen notifications back?

This problem happen after a few days i upgraded its software ver from v21 to v22. I've tried reinstall back the v22 but still didn't work. I try to reset it to factory setting, but still not working. View 1 Replies View RelatedI really like this phone for first few days I had it, but I'm having problems with making calls and receiving calls when I wake up in the morning. The phone is fully charged or is charging before I go to sleep. The problem I am having is when I wake up I noticed that I can't make calls. The phone works and is functional, signal is strong or decent, but when I make a call, I can't hear anything. I'm not actually sure if it makes the call or not since I can't hear anything. I'm assuming it doesn't since I don't receive my early morning calls either. I have to restart the phone to get the phone fully functional again. So far it's happened all 3 nights I had the phone.
