My Atrix 2, v ICS had the screen locked into 'emergancy calls only' mode, and won't unlock. I did a hot boot, cold boot, reboot, called att tech support, no luck. Haven't done a factory or master reset, and don't want to if not needed. Will accept inbound calls, but can't open anything, and MotoCast can't find the phone, Motophone tools not for this phone OS.
View 4 Replies1. I installed the MLB At-Bat '12 app and noticed the sound quality is not good. I have sent feedback to the maker of the app, but not sure what the problem is. It reminds me of playing a cassette at a slightly slower speed (I know, some of you are going to say "What the heck is a cassette?"). The announcers voices are off, like their voice got deeper and are speaking slower. Not sure if this is an audio driver issue or app issue. Doesn't matter if its on wi-fi or not.2. lately my phone has been active very laggy. Switching screens is slow, sometimes the icons take a second to show up, and god forbid I am listening to music from my sd card, because it will get the skips.
3. I was taking some video this week and on two seperate days the screen froze for a couple seconds then showed action again. When I playback the video it skipped at that point, as if a couple seconds was chopped out. So it wasn't that the screen froze, it appears the process stopped. I got a force close error also. The first time, I rebooted my phone, then my phone decided that wasn't good enough and rebooted again on its own. The second time it happened I rebooted, only once this time, and it recorded normally after that.
Quite a few of these issues can be corrected by going in to the task manager and ending task on apps that are loaded but not being used. However they just come right back, so it is almost pointless. Before you ask, I have done a couple factory resets along with a cache wipe a couple months ago. It is a real pita getting the phone set back up the way I had an d I dont want to do it again anytime soon. I dont have a lot of unnecessary apps installed, but I do have quite a few, and I use them. It doesn't matter whether I am on wi-fi, have gps on, or bluetooth on.
I really had planned on this being the last phone I buy for quite a while, even buying the car dock and hd dock. I am starting to get concerned that the "most powerful smartphone on the planet" isn't going to last and cant handle mundane tasks. I suppose if I was just goint to text and make calls, it will, but while a lot of the issues are really just small things that are an annoyance rather than a hinderance, it will most likely affect my decision on how long I keep it. I really hope care was taken to develop ICS to help with the issues being seen on this site. It is too bad that those of us with issues cant have our phones be the test-beds for the development, rather than the phones they are using in the lab that most likely have never had an issue.

When I put my phone on charger at night it enters bedside mode. Currently I have it set to silent for all. However, I would like two things to get through. Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought an Atrix 4g running Gingerbread this last Saturday (8/20/11). Over a day, it probably would freeze up 10 times. It would only freeze up when the display is off. When I go to hit the power button, the display wouldn't come up. The only way to restart it would be to pull the battery.
I read on this forum and some others that some apps could cause problems so I removed all downloaded apps (factory reset) but the problem persisted. I switched for a new Atrix from ATT and the same thing would happen. At this point I can't believe I got two bad phones from AT&T, so I feel like it must be something I have setup. The guys at the AT&T store said it could have to do with my exchange email I have setup for my work email. I configured it to not sync automatically and only manually. The problem would still persist.
I recently updated my Motorola Atrix 2 to the new 4.0.4 OS. Previously, I had my phone set up so that I had to enter a pin # if my phone had been asleep for 30 minutes or more. Otherwise, if less than 30 minutes, turning the phone on (from sleep) went directly to the home screen (no swiping or unlock needed). Under the new OS, I cannot seem to keep this. Now, there is a 2-step unlock process (selecting key icon, and then unlock option -- lock icon -- in order to get to main screen). The only way to avoid this annoying 2-step process (that doesn't really add any security) is to turn off all locks, but I would prefer to have some security (i.e. through pin lock after 30 minutes asleep). Anyway to disable this annoying 2-step/swype feature when turning on phone without disabling all locks? If not, is there anyway to go back to my previous OS?

In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad. The screen saver says in red Iphone is disabled connect to iTunes. I did bring it to my house to try and connect to itunes but when I did that it asks me to put the password of the phone into the phone, which I cannot do as it only will let me make emergency calls...

Since the latest update, system version 4.5.91 android version 2.3.4, Bluetooth voice commands will no longer unlock the screen. Therefore, voice commands will not work until you manually unlock the screen. This is a recipe for disaster when using in the car! I've found several other complaints like this, but have found no solutions from Motorola. Under location and security settings I have enabled Allow Bluetooth Bypass, however this has no effect. I have turned phone off and back on. I have disconnected Bluetooth devices and reconnected, but problem still exists. The whole point of having Bluetooth in the car is the ability to make phone calls without reaching for or looking at the phone for increased safety.

I have to hit emergency call, then the PIN screen appears, then the emergency dialer appears, and I have to hit "back" and the PIN screen appears again. While the screen is black tapping on anything doesn't work except the silent slider. I have the button press developer option enabled for anyone who wonders why the dots are there. The face unlock had been working fine for several days.

Now, there is an option in Settings -> Location & Security -> Use tactile feedback. It only works partially. It enabled fingerprint authentication produces one short and one long vibration. When disable it is down to one short vibration. I am curious is this a bug or a feature?
Can I change any of the four app launch options on the initial unlock screen? I rarely use the camera, but there is another app I would like to be able to open quickly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Pattern Setup as my lock screen for my phone, and 2 out of the 3 times I try to unlock it, it doesn't work. I try to drag the pattern out, but it thinks i lifted my finger and the lines go red, like when you guess the wrong pattern, and the lines go crazy, shooting to random dots on the lock screen, making it very tempremental. When this occurs i just click the lock button to shut the screen off, and then try again. Even after I do this, it still won't work and the lock screen will go crazy.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently having issues with my Atrix 4G since the start of the New Year (2012). I have had the phone since July with no problems, but not i hear and sense feedback, but it takes over a minute for the phone to reawaken from sleep mode (screen to turn on to the unlock screen).
Once it does, I see the cellular signal strength icon showing it was disconnected and trying to re-acquire the cell netwrok (not the wifi part, the AT&T part).
This long delay puts a real damper on how I can use the phone to make a quick call, or snap a random photo to capture a moment.
Once I'm in, however, it'll work fine for a while, and then if I am NOT using wifi, it may lock up the screen refresh (I get haptic and audio feedback on my taps until the buffer fills, but screen freezes and even turing the unit off does not shut the screen) and sometimes it'll be minutes before I see the cell signal thing do the same thing, or I just get tired of waiting and pull the battery.
if this is a settings thing or a hardware or OS issue. My phone is under warranty, but I don't want to swap it out without knowing if there's a fix. I hate to get a new phone and find out it's happening again.
After my Atrix was updated last week, I have been having problems (as with many others, it seems). My most glaring issues is that the screen does not go 'inactive' when I place a phone call and put the phone up to my ear.
Consequently, my cheek will press all sorts of buttons on the phone while I'm talking, and may times it turns out to be the Mute or EndCall button. When the End Call is hit, the phone actually locks up and needs to be rebooted.
It basically makes me have to place all of my phone calls on speakerphone in order to be useful.
I can receive calls but I can only make emergency calls. How do I switch it back to normal?

My phone still powers on, I still have my custom lock screen and all but I can only make emergency calls and access SBSettings which doesn't actually work anymore. So I tried to restore the the custom firmware and itunes keeps giving me the 1600 error .. I have heard iReb can fix this but I dont even know if its compatible with the 3GS for this issue.. In unlock Mode when call is incoming the touch screen don't works. But after unlocking i am able to receive or reject the active call. View 2 Replies View RelatedI did the Jelly Bean update on my two month old Atrix HD yesterday. Then my apps started closing on their own and then the homescreen started doing the same thing. Tried to do a FDR and I have the little android guy on my screen now with what looks like a rotating atom in his belly and a blue progress bar below him. Been like this for several hours now and I even tried calling the Motorola people and I'm still where I was. Can anyone offer a solution before I take it back to where I bought it from to see if they will even replace it? I did the holding down the volume buttons simultaneously and then the power button, got the motorola logo and then goes right back to this annoying little android guy with the rotating atom in his belly.

My mum just gave me her old iPhone 4 and told me to wipe all the old info etc off it. So I did what I thought was factory reset, now it just has a logo of a cable pointing to something that says itunes and has a slider to slide for emergency numbers. I don't even have a mobile so don't know about iphones now I think I have seriously messed up her old phone.Â
View 3 Replies View RelatedI went into Airplane Mode today using the widget. It turned off my Wifi (but not GPS?) and went into Airplane Mode just fine. Then when using the widget to turn Airplane Mode off I see my Wifi turn back on, but the Airplane Mode isn't removed. The only way I can find to actually take the phone out of Airplane mode is to hold the power button and toggle it from the silent/airplane/power popup.
