My mum just gave me her old iPhone 4 and told me to wipe all the old info etc off it. So I did what I thought was factory reset, now it just has a logo of a cable pointing to something that says itunes and has a slider to slide for emergency numbers. I don't even have a mobile so don't know about iphones now I think I have seriously messed up her old phone.Â

My stepson lost his phone so I turned off service and reported it lost. In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad. The screen saver says in red Iphone is disabled connect to iTunes. I did bring it to my house to try and connect to itunes but when I did that it asks me to put the password of the phone into the phone, which I cannot do as it only will let me make emergency calls...

Here's the deal.. I was driving today and all of a sudden my phone just stopped working.. I saw a notification saying I should restore my phone or contact apple.. My phone still powers on, I still have my custom lock screen and all but I can only make emergency calls and access SBSettings which doesn't actually work anymore. So I tried to restore the the custom firmware and itunes keeps giving me the 1600 error .. I have heard iReb can fix this but I dont even know if its compatible with the 3GS for this issue.. I have tried but its kinda confusing and hasnt exactly worked..

Its intermittent at the moment, I can recreate this occasionally or just coincidence? If I try making a call while the signal bar is red, I can't make the call so if then I hang up, then the emergency calls appears even though the signal bar goes full (blue). If I reboot the phone it works fine for a short while.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Vivaz Pro on O2 for about 2 months now and I've been have an intermittent problem. The phone will suddenly not allow me to make calls, when I try to make a call it says "Emergency Calls Only" even though I have a good to full signal AND I can still receive calls and send and receive text messages. Also when this problem happens the power button no longer responds, so I am unable to lock or turn the phone off so I have to do a battery pull. Even after removing the battery and SIM and replacing it all the problem is still there. Then it will just work again at various times. This is very frustrating. I have tried contacting O2 but I just get pre- typed messages back which are NO HELP at all, they are obviously not understanding my problem and think it's a network issue or Im somewhere where I cannot get a signal.I was also disgusted that Sony Ericsson used the Nokia OS on their phone, I vowed to never buy a Nokia again after having 4 Nokias and having problems with them all. I go back to trusty Sony Ericsson only to find its got Nokia software Low and behold I'm having problems.

1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a used, not branded SE c905 (bought in Europe) on eBay, popped in my AT&T SIM and the display changed from "AT&T" (recognized network) to 'emergency calls only' to 'no network coverage', to 'no access to network' to 'inactive SIM'. It switches back and forth between these states, and AT&T, when I called them, said that it's the phone (locked on another network), not the SIM.
The SE phone was previously used in Canada and was used on both Fido and Rogers networks without problems, I am told. To test things out I:
- Put the AT&T SIM in my old phone and it works perfectly, (my old phone is an AT&T Nokia that I had unlocked).
- Put the AT&T SIM in a friend's phone (also unlocked) and it works fine
- Put a friend's T-Mobile SIM in the SE and it worked (although it showed no bars, but displayed the T-Mobile network) and made calls just fine.
There are no AT&T settings in the phone - but I should still be able to make and receive calls, and send and receive SMS - but that's not the case.
It seems as if I press the screen, it touches some of the keys at the qwerty keyboard. This wakes the phone from key lock and starts the emergency call screen.This is becoming quite a problem as I can't have the phone in my pocket for more then a few minutes before I hear the dialing sound (the sound when pressing a 0-9 key)I'm hoping there's a way to turn off this function (emergency dialing), especially when keys are locked.Does anyone have the same issue? Perhaps some update or android programming can help me?

Berry weather advisory, and phone calls from one or two contacts. I don't want phone only because I don't want to be woke up by just anybody but I would like for one or two people to be able to get through in case of a emergency.

Haven't done a factory or master reset, and don't want to if not needed. Will accept inbound calls, but can't open anything, and MotoCast can't find the phone, Motophone tools not for this phone OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Storm 2 and I am not happy at all.I thought Blackberry would market & sell a product after have been well tested and ready to go.My Storm2 does not have anything installed just the stuff which came with the smartphone. By other way, my Blackberry does not have any service running: Email, Internet, any other apps. I just have been used to call and get incoming calls and to synchronize with Outlook.
1. The problem 1. is that very often my calls (in or out) are interrupted. I loose the signal, with no one other advise or signal. Suddenly I don't hear anything anymore.
2. The problem 2. is that during calls I often get OS restart. Suddenly during a voice comm the phone turns off and restart. When it turns on again, alone, he gives the following message:

Frequently - typically once a day - I synchronize the Storm 2 and consequently get it online updated.This is stopping me to use my new phone. Keep using my old iPhone and start thinking that using Desire or iPhone would be much better.

Detailed log of re-occurin issue:I purchased the nokia 5530 in december 2009.In late march 2010, I added a screen protector to the phone.I also upgraded to the 2.0 firmware.Then in April 2010, phone started to switch of when making a call or answering a receiving call.After googling like crazy, removed the screen protector, reset the phone using the codes from this site. Phone worked for 2 weeks no problems.After the 2 weeks it happened again, I repeated the process and it stopped switching off. The screen protector was never replaced thinking it might be blocking the proximity sensor.In late may I updated to new firmware 3.0. Phone was functioning normal at this time.Now it's june and problem started re occuring since the 10th of june.I am unable to answer or make calls with this phone despite my many attempts using reset and factory reset , removing memory card and switching sim with a new sim card etc.So far, the only way it works is with the headset plugged in, but this is a temporary fix. Once the headset is removed during the call it switches off.Also it also crashes when making skype calls which i also installed in may. I used skype for most of may and june, with no problems.My sister also purchased the same phone at the same time, from the same vendor. She never updated the firmware and also has a screen protector installed. Her phone has no problems whats so ever.
