HTC One M7 :: Disable Emergency Call Button?
May 13, 2013I've somehow managed to make several 911 calls by accidentally pocket-dialing off the lock-screen. Is it possible to disable this? Once the lock screen (with PIN) comes up, the emergency call button is fairly prominent.
I'm trying Hidden Lock now and it does allow me to remove the emergency call button entirely, but after unlocking, I still have to slide to unlock (so it's a double-action to unlock from the PIN).

May 28, 2014This annoying feature is on the lock screen, left of Alternative Password. I put my phone in my pant pocket throughout the day, and accidentally make at least 2 emergency calls per day. I have tried to delete all contacts in my emergency group, but somehow it manages to randomly read them.
Is there a way to disable this feature altogether like unchecking the camera on the lock screen?

Feb 24, 2015Me and my kids were woken up at 3am this morning by an amber alert on my verizon gs5 running 5.0 ... I can't find the menu for emergency alerts...i have looked in the native msging app settings as well as in the wireless and network menu,but just cant find it....is this yet another lollipop bug or am i just missing something?

Jun 4, 2014I have this problem with my Iphone4 on IOS7.1.1. One fine day without i realize my kid played with the phone while in the locked mode. Since i know the phone is locked, i didn't bother to look what they were doing. Now I realize the potential problem, that when they play with the phone they started to click on emergency button and started to press random number on the keypad. Last month billed it start to hit my pocket. Below picture some of the number that were made.Â
Question : How do i disable or get rid of the emergency call on the locked button.

Feb 10, 2010After I installed the new operating system I lost a feature. Both my husband and I have the Tour. For example, if you highlight the Games folder and press the Blackberry options, one Tour can choose "edit folder" and pick a new Icon. The other Tour mine is missing that choice. Any fix? If I create my own folder, I have the feature, but not for my Games, Applications and other folder that were there in the old OS.

Sep 10, 2014My mum just gave me her old iPhone 4 and told me to wipe all the old info etc off it. So I did what I thought was factory reset, now it just has a logo of a cable pointing to something that says itunes and has a slider to slide for emergency numbers. I don't even have a mobile so don't know about iphones now I think I have seriously messed up her old phone.Â

Its intermittent at the moment, I can recreate this occasionally or just coincidence? If I try making a call while the signal bar is red, I can't make the call so if then I hang up, then the emergency calls appears even though the signal bar goes full (blue). If I reboot the phone it works fine for a short while.

Sony Ericsson :: Vivaz Pro Emergency Calls Only Error?
Aug 10, 2010I've been using my Vivaz Pro on O2 for about 2 months now and I've been have an intermittent problem. The phone will suddenly not allow me to make calls, when I try to make a call it says "Emergency Calls Only" even though I have a good to full signal AND I can still receive calls and send and receive text messages. Also when this problem happens the power button no longer responds, so I am unable to lock or turn the phone off so I have to do a battery pull. Even after removing the battery and SIM and replacing it all the problem is still there. Then it will just work again at various times. This is very frustrating. I have tried contacting O2 but I just get pre- typed messages back which are NO HELP at all, they are obviously not understanding my problem and think it's a network issue or Im somewhere where I cannot get a signal.I was also disgusted that Sony Ericsson used the Nokia OS on their phone, I vowed to never buy a Nokia again after having 4 Nokias and having problems with them all. I go back to trusty Sony Ericsson only to find its got Nokia software Low and behold I'm having problems.

Jun 20, 2012My stepson lost his phone so I turned off service and reported it lost. In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad. The screen saver says in red Iphone is disabled connect to iTunes. I did bring it to my house to try and connect to itunes but when I did that it asks me to put the password of the phone into the phone, which I cannot do as it only will let me make emergency calls...

Nokia 5800 :: Phone Only Makes Emergency Calls No Icons?
Apr 9, 2010My Nokia 5800 Navigation edition has some serious issues. I'm wondering if it was in a bad batch.
1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.

May 17, 2010I bought a used, not branded SE c905 (bought in Europe) on eBay, popped in my AT&T SIM and the display changed from "AT&T" (recognized network) to 'emergency calls only' to 'no network coverage', to 'no access to network' to 'inactive SIM'. It switches back and forth between these states, and AT&T, when I called them, said that it's the phone (locked on another network), not the SIM.
The SE phone was previously used in Canada and was used on both Fido and Rogers networks without problems, I am told. To test things out I:
- Put the AT&T SIM in my old phone and it works perfectly, (my old phone is an AT&T Nokia that I had unlocked).
- Put the AT&T SIM in a friend's phone (also unlocked) and it works fine
- Put a friend's T-Mobile SIM in the SE and it worked (although it showed no bars, but displayed the T-Mobile network) and made calls just fine.
There are no AT&T settings in the phone - but I should still be able to make and receive calls, and send and receive SMS - but that's not the case.

X10 Mini Pro Dials Emergency Calls From Pocket When Key Lock Is Active
Sep 14, 2010It seems as if I press the screen, it touches some of the keys at the qwerty keyboard. This wakes the phone from key lock and starts the emergency call screen.This is becoming quite a problem as I can't have the phone in my pocket for more then a few minutes before I hear the dialing sound (the sound when pressing a 0-9 key)I'm hoping there's a way to turn off this function (emergency dialing), especially when keys are locked.Does anyone have the same issue? Perhaps some update or android programming can help me?
