Mar 4, 2010Here's the deal.. I was driving today and all of a sudden my phone just stopped working.. I saw a notification saying I should restore my phone or contact apple.. My phone still powers on, I still have my custom lock screen and all but I can only make emergency calls and access SBSettings which doesn't actually work anymore. So I tried to restore the the custom firmware and itunes keeps giving me the 1600 error .. I have heard iReb can fix this but I dont even know if its compatible with the 3GS for this issue.. I have tried but its kinda confusing and hasnt exactly worked..

Apr 9, 2010My Nokia 5800 Navigation edition has some serious issues. I'm wondering if it was in a bad batch.
1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.

Sep 10, 2014My mum just gave me her old iPhone 4 and told me to wipe all the old info etc off it. So I did what I thought was factory reset, now it just has a logo of a cable pointing to something that says itunes and has a slider to slide for emergency numbers. I don't even have a mobile so don't know about iphones now I think I have seriously messed up her old phone.Â

Jun 20, 2012My stepson lost his phone so I turned off service and reported it lost. In the meantime I got a new SIM issued and put it in my old Blackberry for him to use. 4 days later he found the phone. I took it into AT&T to have the SIM changed over and we are unable to get past the screen that says Emergency call only and displays a number pad. The screen saver says in red Iphone is disabled connect to iTunes. I did bring it to my house to try and connect to itunes but when I did that it asks me to put the password of the phone into the phone, which I cannot do as it only will let me make emergency calls...

May 2, 2012I want to turn off phone calls/texts but still be able to use 3G and/or GPS on my iPhone 4S."use airplane mode" or "put it on silent". That won't work. When I'm running I'm using Nike+ GPS or Runkeeper. These apps use the 3G and GPS connection so Airplane mode is not an option. Airplane mode stops my GPS and 3G connection from working.
Putting my phone on silent does not help. It interrupts the music and vibrates in my pocket. If I turn off vibrate then my doesn't vibrate but it still interrupts the music. The music will fade out and the phone will "silently" be ringing until it goes to voicemail and then the music fade back in. Plus, if I get a text message then the phone will fade out the music for just a second and then back again even if I have it on silent mode. I don't want that. Its a disruption I would rather not have. I want to recieve no communications while I'm running but still be able to use my phone's GPS/3G connection for Nike+ and/or Runkeeper.
I need an option that just turns off phone calls and text messages temporaily while I'm running without turning off GPS and 3G. I wish Apple would add an option in settings to turn off Text Messaging and incoming Phone Calls seperatley from everything else. This could useful since we use our phones for so much more than talking these days.

Oct 1, 2010There are far too many complaining about this, are there any fixes for it yet? I have this problem also. Its intermittent at the moment, I can recreate this occasionally or just coincidence? If I try making a call while the signal bar is red, I can't make the call so if then I hang up, then the emergency calls appears even though the signal bar goes full (blue). If I reboot the phone it works fine for a short while.

Aug 10, 2010I've been using my Vivaz Pro on O2 for about 2 months now and I've been have an intermittent problem. The phone will suddenly not allow me to make calls, when I try to make a call it says "Emergency Calls Only" even though I have a good to full signal AND I can still receive calls and send and receive text messages. Also when this problem happens the power button no longer responds, so I am unable to lock or turn the phone off so I have to do a battery pull. Even after removing the battery and SIM and replacing it all the problem is still there. Then it will just work again at various times. This is very frustrating. I have tried contacting O2 but I just get pre- typed messages back which are NO HELP at all, they are obviously not understanding my problem and think it's a network issue or Im somewhere where I cannot get a signal.I was also disgusted that Sony Ericsson used the Nokia OS on their phone, I vowed to never buy a Nokia again after having 4 Nokias and having problems with them all. I go back to trusty Sony Ericsson only to find its got Nokia software Low and behold I'm having problems.

May 17, 2010I bought a used, not branded SE c905 (bought in Europe) on eBay, popped in my AT&T SIM and the display changed from "AT&T" (recognized network) to 'emergency calls only' to 'no network coverage', to 'no access to network' to 'inactive SIM'. It switches back and forth between these states, and AT&T, when I called them, said that it's the phone (locked on another network), not the SIM.
The SE phone was previously used in Canada and was used on both Fido and Rogers networks without problems, I am told. To test things out I:
- Put the AT&T SIM in my old phone and it works perfectly, (my old phone is an AT&T Nokia that I had unlocked).
- Put the AT&T SIM in a friend's phone (also unlocked) and it works fine
- Put a friend's T-Mobile SIM in the SE and it worked (although it showed no bars, but displayed the T-Mobile network) and made calls just fine.
There are no AT&T settings in the phone - but I should still be able to make and receive calls, and send and receive SMS - but that's not the case.

Sep 14, 2010It seems as if I press the screen, it touches some of the keys at the qwerty keyboard. This wakes the phone from key lock and starts the emergency call screen.This is becoming quite a problem as I can't have the phone in my pocket for more then a few minutes before I hear the dialing sound (the sound when pressing a 0-9 key)I'm hoping there's a way to turn off this function (emergency dialing), especially when keys are locked.Does anyone have the same issue?
