Are screen scratches covered under warranty. I've never used anything other than the stylus, it lives it's life in soft case, yet the screen is covered in scratches..especially where the scroll bars would appear.This is my 3rd phone.. the other 2 didn't scratch like this one has.

I bought my nokia 5233 sometime in january it worked fine until april or so, it would switch off automatically.At first I disregarded it thinking that i would have pressed the power button by mistake.Since two days this phenomenon is happening atleast about 7-8 times.I wouldn't like to take my phone to the Nokia care yet coz here in my country the Nokia care guys try to fleece you saying something has gone wrong which is not covered by warranty.Would any of you guys help me in diagnosing the problem so that I can fix it myself before I take it to nokia care?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI bought an 8520 curve from the carphone warehouse exactly one year ago that had a 2 year manufacturers warranty with it. The silver bit of the usb port came out on the end of the charger so i returned it for repair. It has come back with the CPW saying that it was due to mis-use and not covered ! Can BB give me a second opinion and how do i contact them for this sort of service?

(I do not have my purchase docs with me to look at.) I have cracked my screen completely and wandered how much it would cost for Apple to fix it. I do have insurance with my Orange contract the excess is £50 but as I only recently purchased the insurance it will take a week to process, alternatively a local company replaces the glass and screen for £45.

i have a iphone 4.it is yet under the warranty coverage.i visited a apple care centre for my non responsive home button.but there i came to know tha my iphone is water damaged.though my phone is in working condition now and it doesn't have any corrections at d dock and headphone jack as shown on the apple site for the liquid damage status, i am not getting iphone repaired for free under the coverage plan.

I've only had the device for a couple of weeks and already have a couple of light scratches that are visible in daylight. I'm very surprised at this as I keep the phone in a case most of the time and have been very careful with the device in general. If kept in a pocket it has always been on its own with no keys or coins.
I've owned several other devices over the last few years, with and without Gorilla Glass, and have never had a single scratch on any screen after months of use. To have a couple on the 710 after only a few weeks is rather alarming.
Yestrday when i swtchd on my mobile nd i was shockd to see the inner screen cracked !!it niether fell nor hit anywhere hard.. but usualy i cary it in my jeans front pocket..no idea y such a small pressure caused it to crack. the front layer is fine...u wont notice the crack until the mobile is swtchd on..
all other functions r workin absltly fine...excpt fr the screenmy phone is still undr waranty, will this be included in the waranty...if not how much will it cost for rplacing the screen?
I recently updated my 5800 xpressmusic to V 40.0.005. Sadly it wasn't just good stuff like faster menus, better unlocking-feature and more practical texting, it came with some annoying errors too.
My problem lies in the Home-Screen and its shortcuts, I got some trouble in Home-screen settings too, but not as important. I can't use the dialer and contacts-buttons on the touchscreen, I get a confirming response from the vibrator but nothing really happens. The same with the calendar-shortcut when you push the date-button above the contact-shortcuts on screen.
The green and red button won't work in the Home-screen either, although they work everywhere ells. I have tried to soft-reset, is there any other option than hard-reset and would it solve my problems?
I won a Nokia 5800 a few months ago from a Pepsi Competition and the phone has been working grand. Earlier on this morning at some point my screen began to malfunction appearing if it has been cracked. The phone was placed in my pocket and during some point after class and walking to halls this happened. The only other thing in my pocket was £1.50 in change (£1.00 and £0.50) and a plastic card key. I have absolutly no Idea how this has happened. I didn't fall, get mugged, get hit by anything, I just walked back to halls. Has this happened to anyone else and will my warranty cover it?Also will I be able to get all the data from it onto my computer?

However, I'ts happened again.My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..

I had two 3g iPhones and this is my second 3gs. This new replacement screen is picking up little micro scratches like crazy. My old one was naked for 6 months with no scratches at all and ditto on the 3g phones.

My 3GS's screen has no scratches in the year I had it and I've had my iPhone 4 since the day is came out and I've also had a bumper on it. The back has a big scratch on the back (but you can't feel it, just visible) and the front has a small scratch. But over the whole entire screen there are hairlines swirls all over. I never had this with my 3GS. Anyone else have this with their (easy scratching)? I don't like putting screen protectors on, never have, but contemplating doing that now.

My touch screen has been playing up for several weeks nowWhen I try to touch the main screen it will select an area to the right of where I am touching, i.e. clicking the dial pad button will actually select the contacts button, clicking 'answer' on the keypad will put the caller on hold etc etc. Other times the scren will not respon at all.
The funny thing is, when I remove the phone's plastic casing, the touch screen works fine! Similarly, if i push the top part of the case to the sides (so it is not in contact with the digitiser) the touch screen will work again until my phone goes on lock and then when I unlock it the touch screen is stuffed again.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem. On one hand its as if the plastic casing of the phone is rubbing (putting pressure on) against the side of the touchscreen and causing it to not work (hardware) while on the other hand it could be software in that the problem keeps happening everytime the screen goes to sleep (it's not initialising right).The other problem which started at the exact same time is that the green button is not working sometimes when I try to answer calls or turn off my alarm.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? I've already done a hard reset. The next step is to buy a new digitizer/plastic case and see if that solves the problem.
Well I have this phone for over 2 years and now I have a big problem with it that won't go away. The screen goes completely into stripes and is unreadable. It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happends and then stays.Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOver the last 3 days ive noticed my phone using a lot more battery than it usually does, i can usually get upto 2 days battery usage when its used frequently, but it has been getting less than a day over the last 3 days.
I turned the phone off with the power button and tried to turn it on again, The instant i press the power button the screen turns on (stays black but becomes a dark grey with the backlight) for about 30 seconds, but nothing else happens, the screen turns off after those 30 seconds and its back to square 1.I have tried turning it on again without a sim card, or memory card, or both and still the same result
n97 is indeed a nice phone and i really don't regret my investment but i'm facing a problem with it's camera. I've learnt from the net that there was a problem with the cover which is too close and did scratched the lens. The result is that at night or in areas with low light the picture quality is very very bad. That's what happening with my n97. Nokia said to return it to their dealer to make the necessary to solve the problem and that's what i did, but there they are saying that it's my fault and that i've scratched it myself. How can i proof that's it's a common problem with that phone??? help plz... i previously has a n95 with a very good camera,sold it, and now can't accept having bought a more expensive one which should be better with it's double flash etc.and be so disappointed.

Luckily, the mounted case took some damage, and only the front screen is cracked all over (pretty much all gone at the top, however the display is fine, therefore i believe the LCD would not be replacing). It isn't under warranty any more, i don't have any sort of cover, so i was wondering what the one off charge would be from apple to get the front glass replaced?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI sent by N8 to a Nokia care point in October 2012 as the bottom piece that enters the battery compartment had broken in one corner and thought I'd better get it fixed before the warranty expired in November 2012. When it was returned I checked it turned on and reloaded some of the software, however I then requested an unlock code from orange UK and that was the end of that as I had already made my sim into a mini sim for my new Nokia 808. Although I have just received an unlock code from orange (another story altogether) however when I turned my phone on the battery was nearly depleted.When trying to charge it with the mini jack, the battery icon doesn't change to indicate it is charging, I have tried many different Nokia chargers with the mini jack and it does nothing. When I plug it into my laptop it recognizes it as a Nokia N8 and connects to Nokia suite OK, it then tries to charge showing the nokia logo, and dot sequence but then disappears and stops charging. I have also tried starting the charge on my 808 pureview USB charger and then plugging the charger back into the N8 to the same effect as plugging it into the laptop.
