IPhone :: Liquid Damage Is Not Covered By Warranty?
May 5, 2012
i have a iphone 4.it is yet under the warranty coverage.i visited a apple care centre for my non responsive home button.but there i came to know tha my iphone is water damaged.though my phone is in working condition now and it doesn't have any corrections at d dock and headphone jack as shown on the apple site for the liquid damage status, i am not getting iphone repaired for free under the coverage plan.
Can anyone tell me what is covered under the Apple 1 year warranty/ repairs and service coverage? I have coverage until Nov this year. (I do not have my purchase docs with me to look at.) I have cracked my screen completely and wandered how much it would cost for Apple to fix it. I do have insurance with my Orange contract the excess is £50 but as I only recently purchased the insurance it will take a week to process, alternatively a local company replaces the glass and screen for £45.
I bought an 8520 curve from the carphone warehouse exactly one year ago that had a 2 year manufacturers warranty with it. The silver bit of the usb port came out on the end of the charger so i returned it for repair. It has come back with the CPW saying that it was due to mis-use and not covered ! Can BB give me a second opinion and how do i contact them for this sort of service?
Are screen scratches covered under warranty. I've never used anything other than the stylus, it lives it's life in soft case, yet the screen is covered in scratches..especially where the scroll bars would appear. This is my 3rd phone.. the other 2 didn't scratch like this one has.
I bought my nokia 5233 sometime in january it worked fine until april or so, it would switch off automatically. At first I disregarded it thinking that i would have pressed the power button by mistake.Since two days this phenomenon is happening atleast about 7-8 times.I wouldn't like to take my phone to the Nokia care yet coz here in my country the Nokia care guys try to fleece you saying something has gone wrong which is not covered by warranty.Would any of you guys help me in diagnosing the problem so that I can fix it myself before I take it to nokia care?
Yesterday, I left my iPhone at home yesterday for work. Everything was perfect when I left and got back but I found my iPhone "drowning in its own blood". I then properly disposed it. I then contacted Apple for service but they want me to send it in. I cannot send it in because I disposed it.
So I found out that you can get your iPhone repaired for liquid damages for £126. Will they try and repair it or just send you a refurbished replacement?
WHile trying to resolve a no sound from speaker issue I used compressed air on the USB port and when brought to the genius bar was told the phone had been in water because of the LCI .The phone has been nowhere near any moisture but this becomes a moot point with Apple and the LCI.
I have had my IPhone 4 for about a year now, about 3 months ago, I noticed a white substance eluding from underneath, I assumed it to be glue. It has now completely covered the home button square and makes it appear very unsightly. A couple of days a go I noticed how the home button feels like it has sunk into the phone, you are only now able to push it partially down to use it. Multitasking now is fairly intermittent.
My lock button and home button is not working very well and I was wondering if the apple care protection I bought covered it. If so do i have to pay a deductable?
I am looking for rubberized hard covered case for HTC Desire along protective film.Is any store in Toronto (preferably west GTA) ?Also, could you please share current experience with protective gear for HTC desire.
Try this... Hold your phone sideways as if it's in your jacket pocket. Then cover to top sensors of the phone.... The power button wont turn the phone on. That explains why you can't push power in my pocket as I bring it out......
I was hoping we could setup this little thread to fill each other in on tips and tricks that aren't covered in the manual. For example, when I have my alarm set and set on alarm only for ringer, the alarm is so freaking loud it gives me a heart attack in the morning. Is there any way to turn it down before I set it? Since the ringer is set for alarm only I can not control the volume that way. Just wondering if there was a way to make it softer. Also, when its powered on and charging is there any way to get rid of the annoying little beep when it becomes fully charged? Hearing that at 2AM isn't fun. Again, I have the phone set to Alarm only and it still does that.
It doesn't find any services , i already tried another sim card , and nothing changed , when i go outside sometimes works and sometimes doesn't , in covered places is not working at all
Well I have this phone for over 2 years and now I have a big problem with it that won't go away. The screen goes completely into stripes and is unreadable. It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happends and then stays.Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.
I dropped my iPhone 4 and the screen shattered. It still technically works, but it's kind of hard to see what I'm doing. I was told that Apple will give me a replacement phone for much cheaper than a new one. This seems too good to be true, as I've had the phone for more than a year and therefore it's past the warrantee expiration.
I have recently purchased an iPhone 4s and a lifeproof case. I'm trying to attempt a mounting idea for in my truck. I've decided to glue a piece of metal onto the back of my phone, and attach a speaker magnet behind my dash. It holds rather well, but I've read much about people saying the magnet can damage the screen. If it's behind my dash, opposite of the front, does it still do any damage?
I have a water-damaged iPhone 3G S and since Apple switched their policy for liquid-damaged iPhone's, it says I can replace my iPhone for the Out-Of-Warranty price for $199. I did not purchase an AppleCare Protection Plan and was wondering if I am eligible for the Out-Of-Warranty price. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
How many of you have had to have your iphone worked on? I bought the iphone a couple of years ago, and found the technical support here was much better. I was told my an apple sales person tell me that if I lost my iphone, applecare would allow me to buy another one at $199. Since we just signed up for the 2 year contract with ATT, if we lost the phone, it would be full price. I know apple care doesn't cover water damage or cracked screen. Is there a deductible when it is sent it? I did call apple and no one seemed to know the details. I had gotten talked in to buying the Best Buy black tie protection plan, but I just couldn't handle the thought of $14.99 for two years.
I have a jail broken 2g iphone that has severe water damage and I was wondering how willingly is apple of replacing out of warranty phones? How much will it cost? Also the phone is not activated with AT@T and it has visible signs that it was opened.
last week, my friend dropped my phone without it's case on a tennis court. Now the back is moving. It's weird.. It feels like whenever I touch it, the whole glass plate is going to fall off. There are many scratches on my phone and it has green and red marks all over it from the court because it scratched my phone. This is bad because it's white.I want a new phone, but my warranty ended. While I had my warranty though, I dropped my phone and I took it to the apple store and they gave me a replacement for free.So.. How much is a new white iPhone 4S without a warranty?
Our records indicate that your product is not covered under Apple's 1-year limited warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan for hardware repairs and service based on the estimated expiration date. what does this means? anyway my warranty over for 2 years ago can i still buy back the warranty?
I changed my contract from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 in may 2011. Since then my USB does not work properly and the earphones, well one ear works and the other doesn't. I then went online to check if I could get a replacement for both which I am still not sure that accessories are covered under tha warranty. Then I put my serial number and it said that my phone was out of coverage which doesn't make sense as I got the phone in may 2011 and it's only April 2012.Not a year yet.
