recently, whenever I recieve a message, there is no info bar displaying "1 New Message" on the home screen and there is no little envelope in the top right corner... so therefore i keep having to go to my messages and checking my inbox every 5 seconds to see if i have a message...
I'm still getting the little notification light when the phone is locked... but that's it!
The 5800 and 5530 don't dispaly the name of the sender when a text message is received, right, Well so I thought. and I wasn't too happy about it as all my previous phones had this facility. Then a few days ago I got a message on my 5530 and when I looked at the screen there waa white star overlaying the image of the sender on my contacts bar. Great, I thought, I'd never noticed that before! But how could this be? I haven't had a firmware upgrade or anything. Since then I've found that I occasionally get the star on messages from this one contact, but not on messages from any of my other contacts.What's going on? I've searched the web and can find no references to this at all.Have any other users noticed this feature? And can anyone explain why it doen't work for all contacts?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe contacts stored on my phone's memory are not being displayed. If I change the "Contacts to display" option to phone memory and sim memory, or sim memory alone for that matter, it displays all the contacts stored on my sim, however no contacts are displayed when I choose phone memory alone. I have tried copying all my contacts from sim back to the phone and still nothing. It's weird because when I do a memory details check on my phone's memory, it's saying that there are 83 contacts stored. Even if I try to manually add a new contact to the phone memory, it STILL is not showing up in my contacts list. I have had this phone about 5 months now and this problem only occurred about a week ago, before that everything was working just fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedRecently got a new 5800 xpress music and have entered all contacts into mobile. When contacts are calling me it is not displaying their number just saying call calling. Having noticed some people have been having same problems,I have checked that I do not have any duplicate numbers stored, and have also tried saving only to sim or only to phone but neither are allowing the number to be displayed. I run my own business so this is getting annoying as if I miss a call I don't have a clue who it is and can not return any calls!! Can anybody help!

I updated my 5800 few days ago, and then I found out that the map on my phone said I can't get to the main road because there's nothing connected between them? If u check the map, at the address: bangkok HuaMak Ramkhamhaeng 24 Yaek 34, compare with google maps on same location, you will see that according to the maps on the phone there's no way out. Where's al these river's been gone? Yesterday, I went to the center of Bangkok to exchange some money, when I came back by doing boat, the river on my location is gone. Please, I want the old map, the maps that been charged.
View 10 Replies View RelatedBasically the town where I live (lets call it Town A) is about 20 mins away from the town where I work (Town B). When i'm at work, everything seems to be fine. My phone recognises my correct location & the town name displays correctly on the clock/weather widget on my home screen, Google maps etc.
However, the problems start when I drive home to "Town A" at the end of the day. For some reason when I get home, my phone is still convinced that i'm back near my place of work. The clock/weather widget displays the name of Town B where I work rather than Town A where I live.
When i'm at home & I open Google Maps to see a visual representation of where my phone thinks I am, it shows me near to, but not exactly at, my place of work. If I click the "My Location" icon, it will sometimes update & show my correct position at home. As a result the clock/weather widget then updates to show the correct town name. However, within a few minutes it updates again & reverts back to displaying the town name for where I work.
Interestingly i know that there is a cell phone mast about half a mile away from the location near to my work that Google Maps incorrectly pinpoints me at when at home, so it appears the phone is trying to triangulate my position from phone mast locations? Despite the fact that i have location mode set to high accuracy, so it should be using mast locations, WiFi and GPS to pinpoint my accurate position?
Bizarrely, this is the only time the location functions play up. All other times it seems to work correctly.
I have gone to Options, Owner Information and typed it in.I then pressed the menu button and save.But when I lock my screen (by pressing star) the owner info doesn't show on screen?

I just upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy s5 and when I paired it with the Honda Pilot, the music will play but no information is displaying.

Since I can't reboot with memory card, my main screen is completely wrong, I can't see my four shortcut icons (I can see only hover icon), green (last calls) and red buttons doesn't work, two bottom icons (num keyboard and contacts) doesn't work too. So if I want to insert hard reset code, I can´t. Restart without memory card and SIM card, shut down-power up and restore factory settings can´t solve my problem.

I saw the post that says it is compatible with Garmin accessories.I have a Garmin Chest Strap monitor that pairs with the device fine.However when i start a work out it connects and does NOT show any heart rate info.I have verified that the monitor works with Garmin 305 GPS/ Monitor.I tried changing the Batteries.Or do I have a faulty unit? I noticed someone paired a new garmin premium strap.Maybe older monitors don't show data even though they pair up with the MOTOACTV?

How do I change the font to white, 'cos I now believe the highlighting makes it a quick link.Took the phone into a big phone store where they used their own 5800XM. They couldn't resolve it. I did notice that my phone has a red side livery ,and has a red font colour; whilst the shop one had a blue livery, with a blue font. I bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm getting Memory Full on my 5800, when there are 24 MB free on the phone memory.Also, there seems to be 43MB of Other Files, that I can't find anywhere when I browse the phone, so can't get rid of them.
When I tap Applications, sometimes it opens, sometimes I get Memory Fill, please close some applications (or something similar to that message).I can't open Installed Apps to try to remove any.
When I remove the Memory card and try to uninstall apps, of course its only the apps that are in the phone memory, so I can't remove anything that is on the memory card.
I've removed all that I can fromthe phone memory, but can't get rid of the 43MB of other files.
Also, I can't change to the Home Screen Theme to the Shortcuts bar, as it doesn't work. I've updated the software to V31.0.101 and it didn't help. This was prior to the error mentioned above with the Memory being full.
my 5800xm has a 5 sec to 7 sec delay when im creating message.sometimes even when press the menu it has a 4 to 6 sec delay.

I am wondering if it is possible to customize the message alert tone for the Nokia 5800 with my own ringtones that I have purchased - not the default ones that come with the phone. I seem to be able to change the ringtone for calls with my own ringtone files but not for the message alerts.

Usually the phone using opera mini asks if you want to use mobile internet (not wireless) but now it almost never does, so I get the connection error message as there is no wireless, but I also cannot use my mobile internet. Just today it gave me problems because of that. bassicly, I cannot use internet, unless I have good wireless signal.And I have mobile internet as priority number 1 in my settings. So is there something else to do? This problem is appearing and dissapearing. Thought could be from bad wireless, it kinda locks itself on it or something, but turning off the phone doesn't help.I hope I gave all the neccesary details for someone to understand this

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an 5800 xm blue. you could select message tone before but i turned it off only to vibrate. now i got this really cool tone I want to use but when switching msg tones back on it gives me a warning-----not enough memory to display all ringtones, only tones in read-only memory will be displayd. -------- why can't i select and set a msg tone in my music gallery like a ring tone? And how do i get the msg tones to work properly. My phone memory is 48mb free from 86mb?
