Recently my nokia 5800 started displaying broken thumb icons in the picture lybrary.The pictures are fine on my memory card but the phone cant display them.Its not the memory card because my music works.Also i think that my phone didint update like it should the last time i tried it because it got kinda slow can i "preinstall it"
View 5 RepliesSince I can't reboot with memory card, my main screen is completely wrong, I can't see my four shortcut icons (I can see only hover icon), green (last calls) and red buttons doesn't work, two bottom icons (num keyboard and contacts) doesn't work too. So if I want to insert hard reset code, I can´t. Restart without memory card and SIM card, shut down-power up and restore factory settings can´t solve my problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA couple day ago my phone started only displaying the numbers of people who were txting me, not the contact names.
There is no double entries in the phonebook of any of the contacts, ie there is only 1 contact per number - so it should be able to match it up.
Also, phone freezes every so often when I unlock it.
I've been using the N97 for some time now. Recently I discover that when I use the web browser to see webpages, some pictures/icons of the webpages won't be able to show correctly and end up showing the broken icon (the icon of a picture torn in half). For example, sometimes the icon of an app in the ovi store can't show correctly and becomes the broken icon. That also happens when I use facebook with the N97, where some avatars of my friends become that broken icon.Does anyone know what the cause of the problem is?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have bought a new 5800 5 days ago and i have been using it without a sim card. There was no problem. Yesterday i started using it with my sim card and it kept restarting itself. My version is v50 and i have already tried hard and soft reset. Also no problem with memory card. I tried my friends sim on my phone and still same problem.my apps are from ovi store . On offline mode it works fine but when i start to use sim card it reboots in 3 minutes. Any ideas before a nokia care center?
View 4 Replies View Relatedhas always worked fine, i view on the phone and they stay til i either delete or view on my computer. but today they have just started vanishing from my phone after i recheck my mails and when i go onto my laptop they are not there at all. I've checked and its still set to ask me before it deletes but it is and i cant find out whats happening . I've not changed any settings either . it just started of its own accord. help please as I've lost some important mails already.

If I change the "Contacts to display" option to phone memory and sim memory, or sim memory alone for that matter, it displays all the contacts stored on my sim, however no contacts are displayed when I choose phone memory alone. I have tried copying all my contacts from sim back to the phone and still nothing. It's weird because when I do a memory details check on my phone's memory, it's saying that there are 83 contacts stored. Even if I try to manually add a new contact to the phone memory, it STILL is not showing up in my contacts list. I have had this phone about 5 months now and this problem only occurred about a week ago, before that everything was working just fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI deleted images directly from the images folder via my PC, and now have loads of broken image icons (1577 of them) which are presumably there because somewhere there's a file or database referencing the original image names.I can't restore them from anywhere because they're deleted, so some of the fixes I've found on the forums don't work. I've tried deleting files from within the private folder as well, as per another forum post, and that didn't work either. I tried resetting to factory settings, but that didn't help.

Recently got a new 5800 xpress music and have entered all contacts into mobile. When contacts are calling me it is not displaying their number just saying call calling. Having noticed some people have been having same problems,I have checked that I do not have any duplicate numbers stored, and have also tried saving only to sim or only to phone but neither are allowing the number to be displayed. I run my own business so this is getting annoying as if I miss a call I don't have a clue who it is and can not return any calls!! Can anybody help!

View 7 Replies View RelatedThe 5800 and 5530 don't dispaly the name of the sender when a text message is received, right, Well so I thought. and I wasn't too happy about it as all my previous phones had this facility. Then a few days ago I got a message on my 5530 and when I looked at the screen there waa white star overlaying the image of the sender on my contacts bar. Great, I thought, I'd never noticed that before! But how could this be? I haven't had a firmware upgrade or anything. Since then I've found that I occasionally get the star on messages from this one contact, but not on messages from any of my other contacts.What's going on? I've searched the web and can find no references to this at all.Have any other users noticed this feature? And can anyone explain why it doen't work for all contacts?

When I restart my phone, initially it displays the correct time again, but after a second it changes back- here's the kicker - it still thinks I'm in the right location (St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada)
Last night after midnight I had a text conversation with a phone number I didn't know. They messaged me out of the blue saying that they knew me, but all the responses were generic so I think it was some sort of a scam... even though they didn't ask for anything. The area code for the number came from Quebec, which is... 1.5 hours behind us here. Coincidence? Have I been hacked or something?
My Nokia 5800 Navigation edition has some serious issues. I'm wondering if it was in a bad batch.
1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.
My bold 9900 Camera recently started displaying a thin pink line across the screen horizontally. This affects both pictures and videos captured with the camera.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDevice is BB9000 Installed latest BB Desktop Manager and Roxio for managing image files Initially I had 5 pictures loaded into the BB9000 and could see them just fine in Media, Pictures, All Pictures I then took 2 pictures with the BB9000 Camera and saved them. They showed up just fine in Media, Pictures, All Pictures I then used Roxio, launched from the BB Desktop Manager to delete these 2 pictures from the BB9000 and all appeared to be fine as Roxio showed the 5 original images as present in the Home, User, Picture folder When I disconnected the BB9000 and accessed Media, Pictures, All Pictures, there are now 5 images and 2 broken icon thumbnails. Next I enabled Mass Media from Home, Options, Memory I then connected the BB9000 via USB (not running BB Desktop Manager at this point) and opened up the drive (in my case G:) in explorer. I can clearly see the 5 original images in the folder and each one can be opened using explorer. Next I disconnected the USB cable and this time there are 4 broken image icons in Media, Pictures, All Pictures while the original 5 images are still all there. One image has also been duplicated (called trail.jpg) and if I delete one using the BB9000, likely both will disappear but for now, have not done anything. If I select one of the broken image icons in Media, Pictures, All Pictures and select Delete, a prompt comes up "The selected file is read only. Are you sure you wish to delete it?". Selecting Yes does nothing. The image remains as a broken image icon. How is this corrected?

The Facebook app does offer such a upload functionality, however the thumbnails from the photo gallery is all blank so you do not have a chance to choose the picture you want.

After
- installing an SD card,
- changing the location for newly taken pictures to SD card
- AND moving some pictures to other directories -
- AND creating a number of .nomedia files on these directories to make these pictures not appear in the album nor in the foto widget,

the foto widget shows a broken image icon for ALL pictures taken until this change. All new pictures display fine in the widget and the album app.

I delete the album cache and data file (in settings -- all apps -- album).This didn't change anything (so far).

How can I force the album app/widget to recreate it's database and preview/thumbnails??
My thumb side fell off, anyone know where to get one. Motorola wants me to pay $75 to send it in for repair.

I've read conflicting reports on whether the Xoom 2 can support usb host with the ability to mount, read and write usb drives out of the box using an adaptor cable or not. I am so tired of the fingerprint scanner on this phone.It rarely reads my thumb the first time. I have re-done it for my thumb dozens of times. When re-adding my thumb, I always place my thumb the same way that I do when I unlock it. I have tried adding my thumb to 2 fingerprint slots. No dice. I have to place my thumb on the scanner like 3-5 times before it reads my thumb.
