just started to use this phone again, i receive texts no problem, however when i try to send one it asks me to enter the message centre number? I am using the phone based in the UK - anyone know what number i should put in ?

View 5 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to call a number (LAN LINE) that has a block on unidentified callers, I get the message "The number you are calling does not accept unidentified calls please enter your 10 digit phone number" The funny thing is that this problem just started to happen. A week ago it was fine. When I do call a number that is not blocked, my number comes up correctly on the caller ID but shows as unidentified. Sometimes, it shows up as international.Now, funny thing is that if I put my SIM in my Pearl, I can make calls no problem. There are two settings on the Bold under general options. One is called "Restrict My Identity" In this case, I have have it set to NEVER. I have also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but neither of them make difference. The other setting is called "Show My Number" and this is set to YES.I have talked to AT&T until I am blue in the face. They say it is a problem with the phone and that it needs to be replaced. I hardly believe that. I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.I did see some threads on this before in other forums, but never did see an answer to the problem.Finding a solution would be very nice.Already tried doing a factory reset and a security wipe on the phone.

Restored the factory settings.Contacted my network.When contacting my network (o2), I was told to try resetting the factory settings and if this didn't work, try the sim card in a different (unlocked) phone to see if I could send text messages. After trying it in my old phone I found I could send messages, so I called my network back and was told to contact Nokia.
When trying to change the messaging centre (Even with NO sim card in the phone) I get the following error message:
"Unable to change setting. Value read from SIM card".
Bought a Nokia E72 a fews ago, got the email set up no problem but in the last couple of days it was playing up and very slow I therefore removed the mailboxs on my phone to reinstall them.However when trying to add the mail box again I got an email from Nokia stating there records state that I have changed my phone and they have cancelled my Subscription.Anyone experienced this before and have any suggestions.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a unlocked N97. Everything is working fine except 2 things that i am having problems with:
1- I have added my WLAN home network in the Internet destination. Also a normal MMS connection for Multimedia Services and my GPRS connection in the WAP Services. I have set the default connection to Internet but still when I open applications like weather or browser, it doesn't connect to WLAN (It's availaible and use is set to Auto, other access points are selected to after confirmation) and it asks for connecting to WAP connection or not.
2- I can't send any text messages and I want to change my message centre. but when I go to Messages > Options > Settings > Message Centres > Options it has nothing as "Add message centre" so I can add a new message centre for sending text messages. what should I do?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Ever since the ICS update, whenever I select a text or something in the notification bar it asks me to enter my lock screen pattern. I use an app called no lock so it's easy to turn off when I'm at home and don't need the security. When I have the locking turned off and turn the screen off and on it doesn't ask for the pattern like it shouldn't. But whenever I select something in the notification bar i have to enter the pattern. I have tried different lock screens but it does it for all but the slide i think.

Since the 5.5.1 update that I made yesterday, my Xperia Z2 is not asking for the PIN number anymore, so I can't send messages, make calls etc.. I removed the SIM then replaced it, but it's not working.
Plus, when I go to the settings / security, I can access to my SIM settings, but it's "in grey", I can't clic on it.
I have an account, I'm logged in, I click on "Send to Mobile", enter my number, nothing happens. I don't receive a text or link on my mobile. What am I doing wrong?

The numbers are a bit harder to read when they are red underlined and the click feature is totally useless in this situation.I recall seeing this option on my E71 but I don't remember where.

My carrier's voice mail number is *9 and when I try to set it I get an "invalid number" message. I've been reading a on the internet and it seems to be that numbers starting with a * have a special meaning on GSM phones and that is why it gets rejected. Is there an alternative way to set the voice mail number on a nokia 5800 phone?

I'm new to the x10 and still trying to find my way around. Quite often I send 1 text to the same few people. Does anyone know how a can create a group contact and then how I can add it to my text instead of having to enter each number individually.

How do I change the font to white, 'cos I now believe the highlighting makes it a quick link.Took the phone into a big phone store where they used their own 5800XM. They couldn't resolve it. I did notice that my phone has a red side livery ,and has a red font colour; whilst the shop one had a blue livery, with a blue font. Is this any indication, and would it mean I need to download another theme from Nokia?
I have installed the latest version of PC Suite and the Upgrade Program. It links correctly with my 5800 Express Music Phone and updated the Firmware succesfully. However I can no longer play MP4 videos on Windows Media Player 11 or Windows Media Centre. I did not tick any of the association boxes when installing the software. Only the playback of MP4 files is affected. I was able to transfer a Video to the Phone. I have tried re-associated mp4 files back to wmp but still no luck. I have ended up uninstalling the Suite and doing a System Restore to get back functionality.
I liked the Suite very much but if it causes problems with my Media Centre and wmp there is no use installing it. I would very much appreciate any suggestions on how to sort out this problem and what may be causing it. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit version. I am connecting the phone via the USB Cable.
I bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm getting Memory Full on my 5800, when there are 24 MB free on the phone memory.Also, there seems to be 43MB of Other Files, that I can't find anywhere when I browse the phone, so can't get rid of them.
When I tap Applications, sometimes it opens, sometimes I get Memory Fill, please close some applications (or something similar to that message).I can't open Installed Apps to try to remove any.
When I remove the Memory card and try to uninstall apps, of course its only the apps that are in the phone memory, so I can't remove anything that is on the memory card.
I've removed all that I can fromthe phone memory, but can't get rid of the 43MB of other files.
Also, I can't change to the Home Screen Theme to the Shortcuts bar, as it doesn't work. I've updated the software to V31.0.101 and it didn't help. This was prior to the error mentioned above with the Memory being full.
my 5800xm has a 5 sec to 7 sec delay when im creating message.sometimes even when press the menu it has a 4 to 6 sec delay.
