I have nokia 5800 xpressmusic, I bought the phone last month in US,I have downloaded the latest OVI maps(3.03), software is updated one, Now I am in india, I have downloaded the indian map from OVI suite, the problem is whenever I select some city i get a message "No GPS found ". Is this some setting issue?
View 6 Repliesthis may have been covered already but I'm new here (is that an excuse?).I can't get any search results with ovi maps on or offline, constantly say `No Results Found'. By manually searching the map I can then start navigation that but not by searching. At the moment I am reinstalling he maps via the map loader to see if that works.

The phone works fine, but I'm having some problems with the maps.
Whenever I try to search for an address I get a (very) brief "searching online" progress bar, but every time I get "no results found", regardless if I'm searching for a full address or just a city.
When I try to search in any of my personal email accounts, it lists the number of results, and the most recent date, but none of the actual emails display in the search window.This only happens with personal email, my enterprise email search functions normally.Also, I have a Facebook icon in the notification/quick access area that won't go away.I think I clicked in and out of the Facebook app too quickly and it didn't clear. Can these notifications be removed?

Using Voice Search on my RAZR MAXX, using it for the automatic commands, I'm getting odd results. Here's a specific example...
speaking ... "Call Mom mobile" - This comes up w/ the display that's about to call a number, but it has the wrong number. The screenshot has the number blocked out and I aded "Wrong Number" on top of it, but so people could see what stage I'm at.This also occurs using the autocomplete when sending a text message. I type in "mom" and the WRONG contact shows up in the drop down below (wrong name, wrong number). *** It is important to note here that the WRONG contact that shows up in this case MATCHES the wrong contact that shows up w/ Voice Search.This used to work just fine, I've used it for months. But it's recently stopped working.
So, using "People" (which is listed as "Contacts" in manage apps?! - so, under Apps, only "People" is listed, no "Contacts" ... under manage apps, no "People" entry is listed, only "Contacts") on my phone - entry for "Mom" is NOT present. But, an entry using her first / last is there. The number is present, the wrong number is not.Getting online to check my contacts directly with google - there IS an entry for "Mom", with the correct number, the wrong number is not there. If I do a search for the wrong number, it takes me to the correct contact (not Mom), if I search for Mom's number, it pulls up the correct contact (Mom).
From the home screen if you go to "All apps" (btw.... I have 6 and a half pages of apps) and go to the second page of apps and hit the "Search" button at the bottom right hand side of your Atrix 2, it will result in a Force Close of the (process com.motorola.home). I have restarted my phone multiple time and have also taken out the battery. I have 3.7GB of free space on my Internal storage.

My question is, however, is the data for City Lens downloaded by my phone on the fly - i.e. should the up-to-date info be available as soon as it's posted?
I live in a small town in Denmark that is extremely popular with foreign tourists, and a good few of our bars, restaurants and cafes have either changed ownership/name or closed. None of the new places are on City Lens, whereas most of the old ones still are (several closed more than 18 months ago).
When a destination is determined or chosen on City Lens, is there a way to use Nokia Drive to navigate right from City Lens?

It loads about half way and then I get an error message that says attention required tap here. I've tried to download it several times and it still won't load. All other apps will load though.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm upgrading my E72 to FW23.002, with new Ovi MAP 3.03, I cannot even detect GPS position (cannot locate current position in map) although being in a clear sky point for quite long and already enable A-GPS. Just waiting for GPS, even many satellites are found (using satellite status).
I installed new version of OVI maps today. When I clicked on "my position" , it is not not showing my position correctly.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI received my new Nokia 5800XM yesterday and was told in-store that the GPS would work automatically. So went home and tried it for the first time, it discovered my position in under 5 minutes, and I was super excited as I got the phone solely for the purpose of navigating my way around the new city I had just moved to. However, when selected the "drive", "walk" or "search" options it didn't give any results for my searches for addresses. I tried a bunch of variations on the names of places and even used google maps as a reference of how to write out the addresses but it has a standard "no results found" every time. It also jumps between "searching online" and "searching offline". I visited the Nokia website to see if I could find a solution, and subsequently upgraded the software on my phone, downloaded the maps installer, the map loader and the multimedia transfer. I then deleted all the existing maps and installed the map for my country and a voice.
It is still, despite having no problem with connectivity, not giving me any search results. Is there some place that you set the phone to search the maps installed on the memory card? As I think that the phone searches online and the connectivity might be interrupted? really have no clue about these things. searched everywhere and couldn't find setting for this. I can scroll through the map and manually select a place, after which the GPS works fine except - the voice isn't working! Does it talk out loud? or do you need your headphones? This is fine if you're going somewhere that you know, but that's kind of defeating the point of having GPS, no? Another small problem is that I have a constant flashing little envelope in the right top corner, it says that "SIM card is full" - but I can't find a directory for the SIM card? It's been flashing since the moment I put the SIM in the phone, but never did it with my old phone. Any idea where I can access the SIM information and delete some of it?

When I select View Folder and select SMS Inbox I can see all my SMS messages up until current.Does anyone know how to fix the corrupt SMS/MMS icon (which is presumably pointing to a corrupt view of the SMS Inbox)?

I just saw "waiting for GPS..." and i searched in web and found that i must select "internal GPS" in position methods, but in that menu i just have a "Bluetooth GPS".nothing else exists there. please tell me how can i fix this. I used "Reset to factory setting" and also do a HARD Format. Why i can't see "Internal Gps" or "Assist gps".
I can use GPS from my old N82 phone, AND GPS NOT Illegal in my country.it's my 6 Nokia phone and I so disappoinment
