this may have been covered already but I'm new here (is that an excuse?).I can't get any search results with ovi maps on or offline, constantly say `No Results Found'. By manually searching the map I can then start navigation that but not by searching. At the moment I am reinstalling he maps via the map loader to see if that works.

I installed the newest version 3.03 and uploaded the maps of my country (the Netherlands) to the phone. I am able to pick a direction while using the map itself but when i enter an address in the search bar it give the error: no offline results found.Maps is in offline modus because of my subscription without internet.tried entering just the streetname, streetname and city, streetname city and country, different streets.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI just loaded Nokia maps 3.01 for Nokia with upgraded firmware to 2.0 version (sic!) and I see that offline search for address always find no results. Is that because this tricky way of map load with out map loader? Or something may be wrong?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThank you Nokia for making maps free. We really love you for that. But I've already found the first serious bug. Even if you have downloaded maps to the phone (N97 mini), you can't search for addresse and places in offline mode. The old version could that.If you browse with your finger and browse through places, you will find everthing, but when searching freetext for places and addresses in offline mode, no result are shown.Guess Nokia will have to fix this soon.The workaround is of course to use online mode.
View 19 Replies View RelatedFirst off, let me apologize in advance if what I'm about to ask has already been answered (I did a search, but I didn't find anything helpful)OK, so I got a new shiny N95, updated firmware to 31.0.015, installed OVI maps 3.0, so on and so forth. The phone works fine, but I'm having some problems with the maps.
Whenever I try to search for an address I get a (very) brief "searching online" progress bar, but every time I get "no results found", regardless if I'm searching for a full address or just a city.
I received my new Nokia 5800XM yesterday and was told in-store that the GPS would work automatically. So went home and tried it for the first time, it discovered my position in under 5 minutes, and I was super excited as I got the phone solely for the purpose of navigating my way around the new city I had just moved to. However, when selected the "drive", "walk" or "search" options it didn't give any results for my searches for addresses. I tried a bunch of variations on the names of places and even used google maps as a reference of how to write out the addresses but it has a standard "no results found" every time. It also jumps between "searching online" and "searching offline". I visited the Nokia website to see if I could find a solution, and subsequently upgraded the software on my phone, downloaded the maps installer, the map loader and the multimedia transfer. I then deleted all the existing maps and installed the map for my country and a voice.
It is still, despite having no problem with connectivity, not giving me any search results. Is there some place that you set the phone to search the maps installed on the memory card? As I think that the phone searches online and the connectivity might be interrupted? really have no clue about these things. searched everywhere and couldn't find setting for this. I can scroll through the map and manually select a place, after which the GPS works fine except - the voice isn't working! Does it talk out loud? or do you need your headphones? This is fine if you're going somewhere that you know, but that's kind of defeating the point of having GPS, no? Another small problem is that I have a constant flashing little envelope in the right top corner, it says that "SIM card is full" - but I can't find a directory for the SIM card? It's been flashing since the moment I put the SIM in the phone, but never did it with my old phone. Any idea where I can access the SIM information and delete some of it?
I have nokia 5800 xpressmusic, I bought the phone last month in US,I have downloaded the latest OVI maps(3.03), software is updated one, Now I am in india, I have downloaded the indian map from OVI suite, the problem is whenever I select some city i get a message "No GPS found ". Is this some setting issue?

View 18 Replies View RelatedI'm going to Europe soon and wanted to use my N97 OVI Maps as a navigation aid, so I've been testing it today in offline mode as data charges abroad are horrendous. My problem is that when trying to search for POI's i.e. Cash Machines, Restaurants, Train Stations etc. the offline search takes a very, very long time (perhaps over 5 minutes), if it completes at all. The phone locks up before it eventually shows me the results and then after 10-15 mins of waiting, I have to remove the battery to restart the phone for it to become usable again.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got a 5800xm on T-mobile in the UK which had software version 21.0.025. Checked for updates on the phone and had the 'no updates available' message. Went onto Ovi Suite, did a backup of my phone, then updated the software to version 31.0.101 which should be compatable with Ovi/Nokia maps 3.3 (with FREE navigation). After several attempt to download and install the new map software (through Ovi store on the handset, Ovi.com, and Ovi Suite) I finally managed to get the 'installation complete' message
I don't get the dashboard when I first start Ovi maps each time, which is supposed to show that it is indeed the new version that you're running. Now when I start to plan a route, I get the first turn voice command, then my phone shows 'updating' then proceeds to ask me for money! If I go into options - about (on maps), I'm supposedly running v31.01 09wk26. If I go into settings - application manager - installed application, Ovi maps shows version 3.03(246) being installed. Tonight I connected the 5800 to my PC to download some maps using maploader, and Ovi Suite came up with an option to install Maps v3
When I try to search in any of my personal email accounts, it lists the number of results, and the most recent date, but none of the actual emails display in the search window.This only happens with personal email, my enterprise email search functions normally.Also, I have a Facebook icon in the notification/quick access area that won't go away.I think I clicked in and out of the Facebook app too quickly and it didn't clear. Can these notifications be removed?

1. Find contact
2. Select
3. Write down address on a paper(!)
4. Open Ovi Maps
5. Choose "find places"
6. Enter the address written down on the paper.
There has to be an easier way! I've tried to copy the address, but I cannot paste it into Ovi Maps.
Can anyone please shed some light on why Ovi Maps V2.0 was happy to operate offline on my E71 and show you all mapping detail when the newer version (3.03) does not. Everytime I open the app (in offline mode) there is no mapping displayed, only when I go onlie (which it will only allow when using my network operator (Orange) connectivity not my wifi, help here too would be appreciated) does it download any maps. So far its used 3.2mb of my monthly allowance and for liitle more than 10km of detailed mapping. Is 3.03 dependant on being online to have mapping data so you can scroll across map areas and zoom in to close detail or can this be in offline mode too? So far seems this 3.03 is a very inferior product when not wanting to be online all the time.

Well after hardware resetting, reformating 16GB card and installing a very limited set of useful apps the phone appears to be working like a dream.
Still on v4 software.
Autorotate works fine, reception is excellent (even in weak areas), music player excellent & Ovi maps incredibly useful as satnav.
I bought the phone 3 weeks ago and was shocked to find out it only worked online ... not at all the way it was advertised (imho).Nokia Maps ''always free of charge'' was the one big reason I decided for a Nokia loyalty rather then going to Samsung or Apple.
1. Is / will Nokia Maps be available soon for Lumia 800 in offline mode, like the good old Nokia I had for 4 years?
2. Is there a good alternative (is Drive really an alternative and is truly offline)?
3. If none of the above - which Nokia smartphone does work offline with Nokia Maps? I still have a week's time to bring it back to the store!

speaking ... "Call Mom mobile" - This comes up w/ the display that's about to call a number, but it has the wrong number. The screenshot has the number blocked out and I aded "Wrong Number" on top of it, but so people could see what stage I'm at.This also occurs using the autocomplete when sending a text message. I type in "mom" and the WRONG contact shows up in the drop down below (wrong name, wrong number). *** It is important to note here that the WRONG contact that shows up in this case MATCHES the wrong contact that shows up w/ Voice Search.This used to work just fine, I've used it for months. But it's recently stopped working.
So, using "People" (which is listed as "Contacts" in manage apps?! - so, under Apps, only "People" is listed, no "Contacts" ... under manage apps, no "People" entry is listed, only "Contacts") on my phone - entry for "Mom" is NOT present. But, an entry using her first / last is there. The number is present, the wrong number is not.Getting online to check my contacts directly with google - there IS an entry for "Mom", with the correct number, the wrong number is not there. If I do a search for the wrong number, it takes me to the correct contact (not Mom), if I search for Mom's number, it pulls up the correct contact (Mom).
From the home screen if you go to "All apps" (btw.... I have 6 and a half pages of apps) and go to the second page of apps and hit the "Search" button at the bottom right hand side of your Atrix 2, it will result in a Force Close of the (process com.motorola.home). I have restarted my phone multiple time and have also taken out the battery. I have 3.7GB of free space on my Internal storage.

I am a developer and I'm working on a prototype application using Qt on my E7-00.
I would like the users of my application to use maps in offline mode.
So If I use Nokia Ovi Suit , it will take hours to download all the maps (approx 9 GB of data)..more importantly ovi suit refuses to download maps if my phone is not connected to the pc.
Is there a way I can download the maps as a zip file or something from my pc and then later install them on my phone? If yes..where can I find the downlaod links? I am using an E7-00 with Symbain Anna update (round icons..cool!!)
Doesn't matter if I use the Google Now launcher to initiate search, or the fixed bar. No matter what, my search goes to a blank page. I can search from the address bar in Chrome or Chrome Beta, just not search.
View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I've just downloaded the new free Ovi Maps for my 5800 and it's pretty nice, except for one thing: even when I set the connection to offline it still connects to the Internet every time the app is started (which, even though the app is fullscreen is visible when, for example you go into the settings screen). It seems though that after a minute or so it disconnects, but still, the old Maps app asked on startup whether to connect, this one just does without asking every time it's started.Am I missing some hidden setting?

It's possible to complete in online mode missing information, but found errors in France, Germany, Czech ( between Prague and Olomouc). Also my country Estonia is missing much detailed area data. Is it only N9 problem or are getting maps updated soon?
