View 6 RepliesI could never get going with my GPS on Nokia E72. My position never shows the correct location. I have downloaded India map and use it offline. I have enabled A-GPS, Integrated GPS and Network based GPS.
Positioning server use : Automatic
Access Point : Idea Internet.
Server address: None
Internet option is offline as I have downloaded the map. Do I need to to make it online to A-GPS work?
Got my map working using map booster...which is great that it is, but it is not finding my correct position.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOpen the Maps application on N96, then select "Options" -> "My position", the application will show a Red Circle on the Map to indicate the current position, and the position is correct, but when I walk to another street, then select again "Options" -> "My position", found that the Red Circle is still on the previous street. What is the problem? Why Maps can't show "My second position" correctly?

I think my GPS not working properly after the ICS update. In google maps, it is showing my location approximately 200 metres only which can be done using mobile network.
While i was using ginger bread, google maps were accurate up to 2 metres using GPS. In ICS version, it is showing as dot instead of triangle symbol.
My Lumia 1020 is not showing the correct time of day (about 2.5 hours fast). When I got it, it did show the correct time of day, but now it doesn't, maybe this could be because I haven't put a sim card in it and activated it yet (just been using the camera).

Recently I've downloaded the new Ovi Maps and I find that it has finally added useable maps for my country. Now I can't seem to find to "Go to My Position" option on the map, like the one on google maps.

View 19 Replies View RelatedMaps are never finding my GPS location. It just continues to search and search. I have tried rebooting, holding down the button for 8 seconds and getting the 3 buzzes but no luck.
If I use the check in feature - it works - finds my location an places nearby.
Drive To Navigation fails. It used to find my location extremely fast. Am I able to uninstall it and reinstall Nokia Maps?
I came across the following problems whilst trying to update an address in my favourites list:
*Editing the address does not change the position of the place - i.e. I now have an entry that shows all the correct info for one location, but is actually pointing somewhere completely different! I edited my entry from the Homescreen search (which seems to take you through to Location>landmarks.
*In Maps, I can't move a place to the right collection (organise collections) There is no scroll bar so I can only access the first few collections!!!
*Trying to get around this using Ovi Maps on PC fails too - After selecting the right collection to move it to, the message "cannot connect to remote server" comes up. There is no problem connecting to the server for any other functions, but for this one it is persistent.
I then went on to plan a route:
*Using Search in Maps does not include (or allow you to select) results from your own favourites or history!
*When adding a route point you don't have access to your collections (only a raw list of favourite places)
*After clicking "Start driving" in a route, you can no longer access favourite places or history at all!
I was testing the Ovi Maps and found that the horizontal screen (Landscape) is better to navigate than the vertical (Portrait) position What is intriguing me is that my 5230 only switch from portrait to Landscape when turned to the left, and in this case the GPS antenna would be located in lower place of the unit, not at the top, where it should be.
Question: Wy 5230 do change the screen from portrait to Landscape only when switching to the left and not to the right? How I can make this to works correctly, so that the GPS antenna is looking to the sky and not to the floor in the landscape position?
i found out that the position sensor of my Nokia doesnt work good. For example Raging Thunder if i want to play and put my Phone on the Table before, the car drive more to left but it must drive forward. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97 and am having a couple of problems with it.Software Version 20.0.0.019. (There is an update to v2.1, but when I check for updates it says that no updates are available, so to double check I typed my code into the "check if my device is compatible with upgrade etc..." and it says that the current compatible version is 20.0.0.019.
Are some N97's compatible with the update and others not?The most annoying problem I have at the moment is that even when a WLAN network is available, setup and tested as being able to be used for surfing the web or for applications, there are some applications (Ovi Store is one of them), that refuse to use the WLAN and instead wants to use the much more expensive internet provided by GPRS I think..
So I tried deleting the GPRS connection (in destinations/internet) in an effort to stop the software for selecting that connection and hopefully defaulting or allowing me to select my wireless network, which were all set with a higher priority than the GPRS connection, even before I deleted it.
Imagine my amusement when it still wanted to use the GPRS connection, and somehow managed to, even though the connection is no longer setup on my N97.Does anyone know if there is a setting I am overlooking or something I am missing?
Why is it that when I'm creating a route in Maps, the outcome varies dependent on how I created the route, thus using the same route parameters?
I've created the same route using different ways of creating the route, and the created route is different every time. If I create the route in Maps using the search facility, the route is different if I use an address via the people and contacts interface. And again it is different when using Drive.
I made the discovery when a suggested route made a 16.2 km de-tour on a 11 km stretch. More than a 100%. I'm now wondering if I dare to use NOKIA maps for my summer trip to Italy from Denmark.
NOKIA - make a navigation app where I can define my own waypoints. This is essential in every navigation system. optimize the app, so I can choose an alternative route - this is basic in most modern navigation systems.
