I think my GPS not working properly after the ICS update. In google maps, it is showing my location approximately 200 metres only which can be done using mobile network.
While i was using ginger bread, google maps were accurate up to 2 metres using GPS. In ICS version, it is showing as dot instead of triangle symbol.
I have a N97. I am new to Ovi maps 3.0.3. My question is how come when i open the map, the position is wrong. I live in chicago, but the map is showing up Washington, Dc. area.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI could never get going with my GPS on Nokia E72. My position never shows the correct location. I have downloaded India map and use it offline. I have enabled A-GPS, Integrated GPS and Network based GPS.
Positioning server use : Automatic
Access Point : Idea Internet.
Server address: None
Internet option is offline as I have downloaded the map. Do I need to to make it online to A-GPS work?
Open the Maps application on N96, then select "Options" -> "My position", the application will show a Red Circle on the Map to indicate the current position, and the position is correct, but when I walk to another street, then select again "Options" -> "My position", found that the Red Circle is still on the previous street. What is the problem? Why Maps can't show "My second position" correctly?

I am not able to understand if GPS is working. Guide talks about some red indicator I do see one with halo red but I don't what to do with that ? If I use the check in feature - it works - finds my location an places nearby.
Drive To Navigation fails. It used to find my location extremely fast. Am I able to uninstall it and reinstall Nokia Maps?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came across the following problems whilst trying to update an address in my favourites list:
*Editing the address does not change the position of the place - i.e. I now have an entry that shows all the correct info for one location, but is actually pointing somewhere completely different! I edited my entry from the Homescreen search (which seems to take you through to Location>landmarks.
*In Maps, I can't move a place to the right collection (organise collections) There is no scroll bar so I can only access the first few collections!!!
*Trying to get around this using Ovi Maps on PC fails too - After selecting the right collection to move it to, the message "cannot connect to remote server" comes up. There is no problem connecting to the server for any other functions, but for this one it is persistent.
I then went on to plan a route:
*Using Search in Maps does not include (or allow you to select) results from your own favourites or history!
*When adding a route point you don't have access to your collections (only a raw list of favourite places)
*After clicking "Start driving" in a route, you can no longer access favourite places or history at all!
I seem to have a problem with maps on my recently purchased E6. No matter how I access the maps function it goes straight to the 'My Position' map page. In other words it bypasses the page where you can select My Position, Drive, Walk, Favorites etc.

I am using ovi maps v 3.03 on my 5230 and everything is ok. My younger brother bought nokia 5233 yesterday. We downloaded this version on his phone but we are unable to get position (longitude, latitude etc.) in gps data. What I want to know is which positioning method option should be enabled on 5233 Bluetooth, network based or both?

My problem is that when I open the Nokia Communication centre in PC suite (messages), I see the following issues in the messages.For example, if the total number of messages in inbox is 250, in the PC suite, it is listed as a number less than 250 (e.g 242 or so). On a closer look, I discovered that a few of the messages are "mixed up" with other messages.For example, let's take the two messages:
"Hello, how are you? Hope you are fine?"
"Where are you, and when will you be coming?"
In PC suite, the two messages sometimes are merged together as one message in a jumbled manner like this "Hello, hoWhere are you, an w are you? Hope you are fine? d when will you be coming?"However, they will be visible as "normal" in the phone inbox when I check in the phone screen.This issue happens on PC suite in both Nokia 2330 and 2730 in both inbox and sent items. My iPhone 3GS is set to change time automatically with the Daylight Savings change. That worked as the phone time itself is correct, but the times for the different places in the built-in World Clock app are still off by an hour (they are on the old time). This is also true of my husband's iPhone 3G. Strangely, I have an iPod touch that adjusted both its system time and the World Clock times without difficulty.
I have tried syncing the phone, toggling on/off the update time automatically, and rebooting, but the time is still incorrect. If I try adding a new place, it will also have the wrong time.
There may also be an issue with other apps - the ESPN app had the start time of a game today off by an hour as well.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this?
Edit: To clarify, the times are wrong for US cities that do observe DST, such as New York, Chicago, etc.
I normally use gps with data traffic off, and in open sky. Have two navigation apps installed: google maps and CoPilot Live Premium. Have used both of them without any issues before (on Xperia ray), position used to be determined in a matter of few tens of seconds from first start. If I try to use any navigation app now, it simply cannot detect the position. Remarkably, it does see the gps signal, but no matter how long I wait, position remains to be undetermined. To investigate the issue further, I have installed the GPS test app. It shows clearly from 7 to 12 sattelites in use, but position remains to be undetermined! I should add that with GPS test it becomes clear that the number of visible (and usable) sattelites time after time drops down to 1 or 2 without any reason, just for a second or so, and then again jumps to 7-12... I saw some claims in the internet, that this problem has to do with AGPS, but I am not expert in this and so far I haven't found any good solution to the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the micro sd card out to a 32gb to enable a more serious approach to gaming etc. However, since doing that I have not been able to get any of the gameloft games to download and install correctly. The existing game that I had previously will operate when I put in the older (Smaller) SD card. Photos and music transferred over, but not with the correct file path. Therefore they con not be viewed. I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work it out, previous discussion threads have not correctly outlined the procedure. Having the expandable memory is designed to make this phone more marketable. Not telling people how to do it makes the phone significantly less marketable.

Synchronisation as such runs fine, but the thing is that when I delete a calendar entry on, say, Outlook and synchronise, the entry just reappears - this time as an item from Google. If I delete the entry on Google and then synchronise, it reappears on Google. So the only way to delete an item is to delete it BOTH on Google and Outlook at the same time. Not exactly what I am looking for. How do I make sure that deletions on either side is reflected on the other?My settings are:

All is good with the phone except issues with the GPS functionality. The phone does not show any maps and the screen is blank once clicked on the "Maps" icon. Also the phone is not showing and guidance with voice assistance and the map display. I am using Vodafone IN as the service provider.
this is my first time posting and first bb. ive had my curve 8530 from bell for about 3+ months now, and when i first got it i couldnt find the maps icon, but it said the program was loaded to the phone. a week ago i downloaded maps to my phone again using a usb to my comp. and it showed up and worked perfectly, i love the program and whant to keep using it so DONT tell me to download google maps. but yesterday i had to get a new battery for my phone and the icon dissapered so i tried downloading it again.... and again but nothing.. is there a step that i missed this time that i did last time?

It now records in 16/9 instead of 4/3 (Letter box) and I would be glad it would work fine but since then, videos are not recorded correctly. Image is not continuous, but it shifts randomly as it wouldn't be able to record without stopping. That gives poorer videos than with previous version. Other problem I have is that welcoming message is displayed twice when phone is starting.
