My 5800 xm will not connect to the internet via my netgear dg834gt router.The phone connects to the wifi connection but it will not load up a web page.It will work via 3g.I've been through the routers settings and the phones mac address is there and is set for access the same as my pc (which is working fine).

I have tried various settings on the router and none seem to work.At work, I seem to have no issues connecting up to Wi Fi. Just seems to be with my netgear router.

View 9 Replies View RelatedAll i see in the router status under attached devices is:140:FC:89:21:1A:73the 1st -- is supposedly the device name, the second -- is supposedly the IP....neither ever show up and the xoom constantly loses data connection even though it says its connected.fortunately for me, i'm only stuck with this pile of junk 2 more days but it seems like a major issue to me, probably in netgears firmware.

My WiFi signal umbrella icon on the upper left corner keeps floating up and down and left and right. Every time I switch to a different page the connecting issue seems to repeat itself. My friend has the aforementioned router. I can connect but get no data transfer. My tablet and my friends phones HTC incredible and og droid work just fine. We've done all the general troubleshooting and installed all updates still same problem a full connection but no data. I should note that my wifi works flawlessly in all other locations work home parents other friends etc.

As i have added MAC Filtering to keep wireless network safe, i tried to add my 5800's MAC in the filter list. but when i tried to save the settings an error message popped up saying "The MAC address cannot be the Multipart Address.".Any thoughts on what that means? or what should i do?The connection works fine if i dont apply the MAC filtering. It is might be some problem at router end.

The phone can detect and connect with the wireless network successfully but when I open my mobile browser, it can't load websites, saying "Service not available."However, I can connect and browse the internet through other WiFi hotspots, just not my home connection. The router I'm using is LP-8616. It's an AP router, if that helps. Unfortunately, there's no firmware upgrade for this router anymore.

I just bought an ATRIX 2 at end of October and have spent days trying to make WIFI connection work.I could get to internet via cellular 3/4 G but although the phone would show the WIFI network and know it was there it wouldn't connect.It would try and then say "Disconnected".Finally, through reading tons of blog entries on different sites, I pieced together a solution I wanted to pass on to others.I have an Airport Extreme router.It was necessary to enter the MAC Address from my phone into Airports setup using Airport Utility. Then I also had to explicitly choose a Radio Mode that did NOT include the "N" option. Most options are hidden (for some bizarre unkown reason) so when clicking on the Radio Mode field in Airport Utility Wireless Section, hold down the "Option" key (at least on MacBook...maybe Control on Windows, but then you prob don't have an Airport router).This brings up a bunch of Radio options not shown by default.Choose one with no "N". Then be sure the Enable Auto IP" is checked "ON" under the Wireless Settings/Advanced section.Once this was done, have full strength connection and blazing fast.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 5800. I just upgraded today to the last version of the phone and maps. I have installed the ovi suite. All latest versions. From the Ovi I got the maps of Germany. Going to the Maps application I can see the maps, zooming in, out... looking for a location.
I want to work offline so in the options i have chosen only "Integrated GSP" (No a-GPS). But the problem I'm having is that the phone doesn't connect via the GPS antenna, the satellite icon is crossed out, the first bar of the signal yellow blinking and if i want to make a route to any location it says "waiting for GPS". I've been searching in the forum but i couldn't go further this point. It seems as i have the satellite signal deactivated.
I am having trouble connecting my 5800 to my windows 7 laptop using the 5800 usb cable. It was working, now it doesn't recognise it. I have tried setting back to factory default and I have installed the latest firmware on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone will connect to my WLAN at home for no apparent reason (as in I'm not using the any application which requires interweb) and when I get annoyed and disconnect from that because it is just EATING my battery it think "Jesus there's no internet connection" panics then connects via gprs or whatever. Now I turned off the email program because it is eating my battery constantly being connected and am having to charge it every night! But is there any way of making it so that it only connects when the program is open? Any thoughts?

The same happens with other websites, too. The phone usually asks how I wish to connect - WAP, wireless network and so on, but it is no longer doing so. I do hope I have just inadvertently changed a setting or something, as I have just got my phone back from being repaired, which took nearly 3 weeks.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having trouble connecting my nokia 5800 as MTP device to my windows 7 machine. After reading some suggestions on the forum I removed my memory card and vola it recognized the nokia 5800 as MTP device installed all its drivers. I then used Latest OVI to sync music to my 5800.
After the sync when I try to refresh the music library, it just opens and the scanning window and closes it without adding any thing. Similarly if I try to set an image as the wallpaper when I click on image earlier it used to bring up the list of images on the memory card but now it is coming up blank. The firmware is V 4.0.
I have just set up a new netgear Virgin Media VMD G280 Hub for their 20mg broad band service. My three computers have connected to the Hub with no problem, two hard wired a the laptop using the wireless side of the Hub. My granddaughter cannot connected to the VMD G280 Hub with her Blackberry 8520 phone, we have tried several ways but the phone shows its connected but nothing happens. She had no trouble connecting to the Netgear Wireless G router WGR 614 that the hub replaced so has anyone got any Ideas of whats wrong?

The network is used by several pcs and phones but my iPhone 4 will not connect to the extender. Previously it worked fine with just the router (also Netgear), and two other iphones (a 3 and a 4) do connect ok. I haven't changed anything on my phone. I have reset router, extender and restored the phone, changed security settings back and forth. The phone sees the signals from both router and extender but won't connect to either. The 'timer wheel' goes round and round like it's trying to connect but never does. If I turn off 3G the phone connects to the network but only for a few seconds

Im beggining to think this is because I use PPPOE that I also connect my pc to internet ? what should I do to get wireless to my phone too I dont see an option on the phone that asks for PPPOE username and password ,how do I get this ressolved ?
