I am having trouble connecting my 5800 to my windows 7 laptop using the 5800 usb cable. It was working, now it doesn't recognise it. I have tried setting back to factory default and I have installed the latest firmware on the phone.
I have a Nokia 5800. I just upgraded today to the last version of the phone and maps. I have installed the ovi suite. All latest versions. From the Ovi I got the maps of Germany. Going to the Maps application I can see the maps, zooming in, out... looking for a location.
I want to work offline so in the options i have chosen only "Integrated GSP" (No a-GPS). But the problem I'm having is that the phone doesn't connect via the GPS antenna, the satellite icon is crossed out, the first bar of the signal yellow blinking and if i want to make a route to any location it says "waiting for GPS". I've been searching in the forum but i couldn't go further this point. It seems as i have the satellite signal deactivated.
Can someone help.I have just updates all my phone software (5800 XPress Music) and Ovi Suite but now when I try to connect the device via USB cable it keeps saying "Not connected in PC Suite mode".The phone is saying this is the mode and I have tried resetting both the PC and taking battery out of phone.please can someone help?
My phone will connect to my WLAN at home for no apparent reason (as in I'm not using the any application which requires interweb) and when I get annoyed and disconnect from that because it is just EATING my battery it think "Jesus there's no internet connection" panics then connects via gprs or whatever. Now I turned off the email program because it is eating my battery constantly being connected and am having to charge it every night! But is there any way of making it so that it only connects when the program is open? Any thoughts?
I have the latest firmware installed on my phone and i also have the latest version of ovi maps installed. But it does not want to connect online.I have both free wap with o2 and also have wireless connections available at both home and work.but it will not connect, everytime i try it says there is a problem connection not working or something to that effect.i have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times, but still it wont work.
my music files are in the same folder. I did refresh to the library music in the music player and the player added me a very little part from the music. If I try to do refresh again its getting up until 83 songs and doing like keep coaching (I have something like 600 more songs) and its not getting into the music player
On nokia 5800 xpressmusic's home screen music player bar can't appear ,I also update software but it has also same problem contact bar & shortcut bar ok.
My 5800XM has stopped connecting to the internet. If I go to, say the Ovi Store, I get the frot page, but instead of going to the Store, it returns to the previous screen. The same happens with other websites, too. The phone usually asks how I wish to connect - WAP, wireless network and so on, but it is no longer doing so. I do hope I have just inadvertently changed a setting or something, as I have just got my phone back from being repaired, which took nearly 3 weeks.
My Nokia Ovi Player has ceased to function following an automated update of Windows 7. The update included 7 security tweaks, a malicious code remover tool and a security update specifically mentioning Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. When I restore the computer to a point previous to the updates, the Ovi Player works fine. I can only presume that there is a conflict as a result. The messages I receive tell me; "There has been a problem starting Ovi Player. Running the Repair option for Ovi Player in the Add Remove Programs section of Windows Control Panel may resolve this problem." Followed by; "Nokia Ovi Player has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." Neither method fixes the issue. Any ideas? My phone is the Nokia 5800 and I have been successfully downloading music as part of the Comes With music package for 11 months.
i have a nokia 5800 with firmware v50 on it, and since then i can;t watch videos on Internet with the player anymore, and when i open a flash based app, the screen goes black and then returns to the menu, i also can't install an te flash plugin because it says flash is built in,what can i do to fix this, i also didn't managed to find any flash setting or info on the phone, it wasn't even visible in the app manager...
While I'm listening to songs, sometimes when a song finishes, the player get hang. This also happens when I try to play another song while another song is already playing. I can use the phone by pressing the Red button but still the player doesn't work. This was not happening when handset was new. What is wrong with my cell? I do not want to get is formatted as I'll need to install all custom applications again. Is there any workaround to this? Can I reinstall the music player alone?
I updated my firmware v40 to v 50, my phone was working very fine on v40, but after updation to v50 i am in major problem, music player not worked properly and after 3 days of updation i received msg normally than suddenly phone touch stop working, become hang i tried to restart my phone but failed its not switching on since that time
After upgrading the firmware to v40, the music player hangs after playing for few minutes. It does not respond to any touchscreen input. The phone has to be restarted to get it to work again. Does anyone know of a fix to this problem.
I have installed letest version of OVI suite and OVI player.I connected my phone to PC in 'Media Transfer' mode but OVI player is not able to detect my phone. Even when I connect my phone in 'PC Suite' mode, OVI suite is not able tranfer or read tarcks from my 5800. In PC suite mode I can use Windows Media Player 11 to transfer music. I have tried this on two different systems having Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Home Premium, but OVI player is not able to detect my phone.
I am using Nokia 5800 XM firmware 50 When I am listening music and opening in browser page http://habrahabr.ru/blogs/apple/95711/ (or any other big page) - browser showing alert "Not enough memory" and closing music player if in browser there is not only one tab - all other tabs also will be closed
My 5800 xm will not connect to the internet via my netgear dg834gt router. The phone connects to the wifi connection but it will not load up a web page.It will work via 3g.I've been through the routers settings and the phones mac address is there and is set for access the same as my pc (which is working fine).
My Music player not opening. I formatted my phone memory but still getting the problem. when i restart my phone it will open but after few minutes start troubling again, when i try to play some files the phone freezes. Anyone experiencing this problem?
I have recently upgraded my Nokia 5800 to 50. version and after that I encountered the following problem with the music player: unable to finish reading library and add mp3 files, and, also, the volume control not available on side buttons when playing music.
I had many reasons to buy the 5800 but one of them was the music player. I listen to it in the gym using BT headphones. Frankly I'm amazed I never see anyone else with BT headphones but that's a different topic. Best music technology ever
The problem is that despite this being an Xpressmusic device the music player is a bit marginal, IMO. The thing I miss most compared to regular mp3 players is the capability to remember where it was stopped the last time. You're listening to a playlist and you turn of the player when you go home. Next time you turn on the player you want it to pick up where it was and continue with the same song in the same location in the same playlist. You could say you could remember where you stopped but that's silly. What if you had a long podcast or audio book? Wouldn't it make sense to continue where you stopped?
I realize I can pause the player and keep it running in the background but that means I can't power of my phone, right? I've looked at two alternative players and they don't seem to support this most basic feature either. Why? Doesn't anyone take phones seriously as mp3 replacements? I hope Nokia reads this and considers sneaking in this minor feature in the next 5800 update or as an Ovi download.
The music player on my 5800 freezes after a playing 2 or 3 songs. Yes, I know, it's been addressed before, but I've tried everything suggested and I'm still having this problem. Have upgraded the firmware, soft reset, hard reset, run windows chkdsk on the memory card, formatted the memory card.... you name it! But it STILL freezes! Doesn't make any sense having an "Xpressmusic" that can't play any music
(Nokia 5800 XpressMusic)I can't find any songs in Media Library but there are plenty in Sound Files in Memory card (transferred via cable & ovi suite) and plays too. Did it happened because i updated my nokia software to 40.0.005 recently. also refreshing the Media Player doesn't work, it only displays Refreshing process for a long time till the battery is out Also can't change Memory in Use of Messages to Memory Card eventhough i select the Memory Card to Phone Memory, it automatically establishes Phone Memory as it's Memory in use.
I was having trouble connecting my nokia 5800 as MTP device to my windows 7 machine. After reading some suggestions on the forum I removed my memory card and vola it recognized the nokia 5800 as MTP device installed all its drivers. I then used Latest OVI to sync music to my 5800.
After the sync when I try to refresh the music library, it just opens and the scanning window and closes it without adding any thing. Similarly if I try to set an image as the wallpaper when I click on image earlier it used to bring up the list of images on the memory card but now it is coming up blank. The firmware is V 4.0.
Spent a long time transferring CD collection onto pc using Ovi Player. Settings were for best quality rather than file size. Is there any way to transfer a smaller file size onto my 5800. Wanted best quality on PC but phone appears to be getting full.
I am mystified. Sometimes when I am listening to podcasts on my 5800 the phone will interrupt the programme to receive a phone call. And sometimes it simply tells the caller that I am engaged. I don't understand it, but would prefer incoming calls to override the podcast playback.
I am using Nokia 5800 Xpress Music which is updated to v5. My problem is the music player refreshes too long and doesn't detect tthe songs I have saved in my memory card. I have deleted some files in the 3 folders contained in the private folder to reset the library. After I have disconnected it from the computer I start the music player again. Then it refreshes to long again and did not detect any songs. What can I do? Is there any other way?
Is it possible to shuffle play all the songs in the music player in my Nokia 5800. I know I can do it when playing each individual album but can I do it for the whole library?
I do not know why, real player started to work wrong. whenever I play a video, it plays for 5 seconds and after that the image frezees and the audio keeps playing.
When i play music from the all songs option in the music library the music player completely freezes all the time after a few songs. This happs when as soon as a new track starts to play. then the music app does not close/exit too.no problems when playing music through playlists and by genre.I have to close the music player by force by using the remove memory card feature which closes all running apps. to play music again to use the phone.is there any problem playing music in wma format? i checked the file details in the music i was playing when the player froze.
