Spent a long time transferring CD collection onto pc using Ovi Player. Settings were for best quality rather than file size. Is there any way to transfer a smaller file size onto my 5800. Wanted best quality on PC but phone appears to be getting full.
View 6 RepliesThe size of photos taken by my Lumia 950 is about only 4 to 5 MB although I set it to JPEG(16 MP) . Another confusing point is that their dimensions are about 3000*5400 which roughly gives 15 MP not 20 MP!!
Apart from the size and dimensions, the quality of photos also do not sound superb in general, there are just fairly good, so I guess that something might be wrong.
my phone is a 4.0inch of screen, but now it had become smaller a bit than its original size?

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday the OVI Suite showed that there is an update available for Maps for my Nokia 5800xm. When I went to update Maps of India, it also showed a Pull-down tab where the maps are devided into further 18 parts...India (ALL) file size appears as that of 394 MB whereas the total of all these 18 parts is 895.4 MB. Why such a huge difference ? Will it be more detailed information if I download all these parts one-by-one ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia Ovi Player has ceased to function following an automated update of Windows 7. The update included 7 security tweaks, a malicious code remover tool and a security update specifically mentioning Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. When I restore the computer to a point previous to the updates, the Ovi Player works fine. I can only presume that there is a conflict as a result. The messages I receive tell me; "There has been a problem starting Ovi Player. Running the Repair option for Ovi Player in the Add Remove Programs section of Windows Control Panel may resolve this problem." Followed by; "Nokia Ovi Player has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." Neither method fixes the issue. Any ideas? My phone is the Nokia 5800 and I have been successfully downloading music as part of the Comes With music package for 11 months.

I can use the phone by pressing the Red button but still the player doesn't work. This was not happening when handset was new. What is wrong with my cell? I do not want to get is formatted as I'll need to install all custom applications again. Is there any workaround to this? Can I reinstall the music player alone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have installed letest version of OVI suite and OVI player.I connected my phone to PC in 'Media Transfer' mode but OVI player is not able to detect my phone. Even when I connect my phone in 'PC Suite' mode, OVI suite is not able tranfer or read tarcks from my 5800. In PC suite mode I can use Windows Media Player 11 to transfer music. I have tried this on two different systems having Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Home Premium, but OVI player is not able to detect my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had many reasons to buy the 5800 but one of them was the music player. I listen to it in the gym using BT headphones. Frankly I'm amazed I never see anyone else with BT headphones but that's a different topic. Best music technology ever
The problem is that despite this being an Xpressmusic device the music player is a bit marginal, IMO. The thing I miss most compared to regular mp3 players is the capability to remember where it was stopped the last time. You're listening to a playlist and you turn of the player when you go home. Next time you turn on the player you want it to pick up where it was and continue with the same song in the same location in the same playlist. You could say you could remember where you stopped but that's silly. What if you had a long podcast or audio book? Wouldn't it make sense to continue where you stopped?
I realize I can pause the player and keep it running in the background but that means I can't power of my phone, right? I've looked at two alternative players and they don't seem to support this most basic feature either. Why? Doesn't anyone take phones seriously as mp3 replacements? I hope Nokia reads this and considers sneaking in this minor feature in the next 5800 update or as an Ovi download.
The music player on my 5800 freezes after a playing 2 or 3 songs. Yes, I know, it's been addressed before, but I've tried everything suggested and I'm still having this problem. Have upgraded the firmware, soft reset, hard reset, run windows chkdsk on the memory card, formatted the memory card.... you name it! But it STILL freezes! Doesn't make any sense having an "Xpressmusic" that can't play any music

Did it happened because i updated my nokia software to 40.0.005 recently. also refreshing the Media Player doesn't work, it only displays Refreshing process for a long time till the battery is out Also can't change Memory in Use of Messages to Memory Card eventhough i select the Memory Card to Phone Memory, it automatically establishes Phone Memory as it's Memory in use.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI do have a few months old X6, which has worked quite fine so far. Now, surprisingly Music Player gives just "System Error" when trying to use it i.e. trying to play a song from the lists. I can play the songs direct from the X6 file manager, but not by the Music Player.
I've done all the normal stuff, e.g. installed firmware again, hard reset, etc. without any success. Seems to be that the library index, or related has been corrupted. Library updating does not work neither. Any ideas? Does anyone now where to find the library index (or related) file to be deleted? And furthermore to re-build the index again?
From just a few days i can't open any video file by real player.Then i tried to open it from video centre.Same problem.I onLy hear the sound.Even i can't open that 3gp file which was played good by both real player and v'd centre before the problem started.
