I have had my nokia 5530 for around 3 months.since yesterday, the reception bar keeps going up and down by itself.I am with 02 and my sim works fine in another phone.I have soft-reset and hard-reset my phone, It seems ok for now. How do i fix it or should i send it back.

1. The phone always keeps connecting to my GPRS network (Tele2). When I go to the connections I can see that connection being active and transferring some data (not much, it's almost always at 7 kb). When I put my phone on the table I can hear that strange radio sound on the speakers (=some radio activity from my phone). I checked but there are no other programs that require the connection. I'm not using any email account on the messages menu.
2. Same thing happened when I connected to my neighbour's wlan. It always keeps connecting to it, even after I go to the wlan menu and disconnect it. It just refreshes and goes all the way again to connect to it by any means possible.
i was facing some problems with the network Reception of the phone. i tried to contact the nearest BB service centre but they refused to repair it, reason being the phone is from England(UK) and not INDIA instead ( p.s.i got this phone as a gift from a friend of mine who resides in England). Now, i fail to understand, why the service centre people are not taking my phone and if at all somebody has a phone from some other country how is he going to get it repaired.
View 1 Replies View RelatedUpgraded to 5.1 firmware recently on my iphone4 connected to three network. Had message regarding 'upgrade carrier setting'. Since then network reception very poor. 1 or 2 bars at most and other times 'no signal'. Interestingly wife's iPhone4 on same network but firmware 5.0.1 showing 4-5 bars when phones next to each other? firmware 5.1 issue. Anyone else have similar issues? Tried removing sim, reboot but still same problem. Not sure how to get new carrier settings. Reset network on iphone but no luck.

I have the following problem: network reception has disappeared completely on my SE Xperia X 10 mini. So I can't call or receove calls. I tried other sim cards, it doesn't receive too. The problem is in phone. I didn't drop the phone, network reception has just disappeared during the night. I can't even find where its antenna is located.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt has very poor signal reception among all phone I've ever used. I can never get full bar for wcdma, even in gsm only, the signal bar could drop to zero. Do not say it's a simcard or network provider problem because I had try everything like put my sim card in other phone, try another simc ard in my phone. I even make a comparison with xperia play and the xplay does not have this problem. Today I'm updating my phone with the latest update from pc companion, it still did not solve the problem..

View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only". must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what. what should i do?

1) Video Size, should it be same as screen resolution or something like 320x240?
2) Frame rate, should it be 30 or is 15 good enough?
3) Should i set the aspect ratio to 16:9 or leave it intact?
4) Change the bitrate or leave it as it is?
I could leave them in avi but each of them ranges from 600 mb to 4 gb.I am looking for good to excellent video quality and average to small size.
When i made a call or received a call my phone shut down by itself .any solution for this problem?

The problem is, I formatted my handset a month ago but now when I check the Memories, it says Phone Memory 1.3 MB Free (Almost Full) while my Memory card's memory is doing good. how to tackle with this situation? Because when I connect my phone to PC and check the Phone Memory, I only find files sizing 89 kb.
View 9 Replies View RelatedGot the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...

Today when I was around my house doing the normal everyday thing my phone at this time would have between 3-4 bars. As soon as I touched the left side slowly my phone dropped connection. (We all know this) Now the interesting part is today I was driving around and stoped by my local coffee shop. I looked at my phone and sure enough it was blue with full five bars. I tried every angle to touch the left side and guess what I could not get it to drop any bars. So I guess my point of this post is to see if people have tired this test in different spots just not around their office or home. I believe this issue is more widespread then customers are willing to admit or at least test.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I waited patiently in line for my iPhone 4 at my local AT&T store this morning. I paid and then left with my brand new phone. I decided to test out the RF of the phone by driving through weak areas. Places where my 3gs and Bold 9700 lost signal the 4 held on strong (calling and texting too). There were a few places where all phones were lost as far as getting a signal, but the iPhone 4 had usable coverage in places others didn't. Later in the afternoon I left on vacation (at the hotel now) and the iPhone 4 held on where the other phones always lost it (the gaps between two towers). My brother complained he didn't have any signal (LG AT&T phone) and I looked at my iPhone 4 and had 2 bars EDGE. Got to the hotel and only had 2 bars 3G with the iPhone 4. I put my brother's sim in my 3gS and that phone remained at 'No Service'. It won't magically create signal, but IMO the iPhone 4 does an amazing job of finding service and holding on in fringe areas. With all of the "reception" issues, I thought I'd just like to point out not all of us are having the same issues.
*I've used BB 9700, 3GS, and v3xx all within the past 3 months or so.
I've had my phone for about and hour and I think the reception is worse than the previous one even when I'm not holding it.

I have the same office for over two years and lived in the same home for 19 years. ATT claims the phone is defective.It has never been dropped. It does not have any marks or scratches on it.When in my office a an SOS signal. I get text messages and emails.Any one know of a solution or is this BB a non-reliable phone.

1) Is it a good deal ?
2) What about signal reception issues ? are they fixed with the latest firmware?

I'm on Fido's network and have already my previous iPhone with Apple for the same issue. My phone just loses reception and goes in "searching" mode. Toggling "airplane" mode doesn't work either. Today I didn't have service for good two hours. Sometimes it would show I have reception but won't allow me to make a call or send text message. My current iPhone is just over a week old but the guy at the Apple store said its an issue with my carrier. I know thats not true since my wife has an iPhone as well and she never has this problem. I'm using the latest version software on my 3GS. Should I swap it again because this is becoming a headache now?
Anyone else having the same problem and if so then have you been able to resolve it?
Is there anyway to increase my service or reception on this phone? I bearly get a bar inside my house and i live in a good coverage zone. I have virgin mobile. Is there a way to increase my reception maybe by tweaking the internal antenna. Btw where is the internal antenna for this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

I recently debranded my C905a and I want to know if anyone knows for a fact that if by doing so I have reduced my phone's ability to mainain a decent reception signal. If I remeber correctly, I had the same problem before I debranded. I've called Sony Ericsson about the low reception strength and they told me that it was a network problem. I know that is not true b/c before the C905a, I was using a Nokia 2610 (a cheapie until I could upgrade) and that phone always had a signal virtually anywhere and I can count on 1 hand how many dropped calls I had using that phone. I do live out in a semi-rural area but, my mother has a Nokia 6555 (I live w/ her) and she does not have the problem with dropped calls like I do. But, w/ the C905a, I have to put the phone on speaker 3/4 of the time b/c when I put the phone to my ear, it simply looses all reception. The closer to the city I get, the reception problem becomes less an issue.
