I've tried the vibrant gps and had no issues. I'm with rogers so the captivate will be coming my way. I also know that most who ***** tend to voice them and those being happy do so away from here! Post your opinions on the voice quality, GPS or the phone in general.

Its only when I apply very little pressure to the back with my fingers or when I am touching the screen from the front. Everything works fine still but the noise is getting me concerned.

I was just trying to call my wife to tell her there was a huge storm coming and she couldn't hear me after a few seconds when the bars started dropping.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI want you to try a couple of things based off what about to say. Today when I was around my house doing the normal everyday thing my phone at this time would have between 3-4 bars. As soon as I touched the left side slowly my phone dropped connection. (We all know this) Now the interesting part is today I was driving around and stoped by my local coffee shop. I looked at my phone and sure enough it was blue with full five bars. I tried every angle to touch the left side and guess what I could not get it to drop any bars. So I guess my point of this post is to see if people have tired this test in different spots just not around their office or home. I believe this issue is more widespread then customers are willing to admit or at least test.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I waited patiently in line for my iPhone 4 at my local AT&T store this morning. I paid and then left with my brand new phone. I decided to test out the RF of the phone by driving through weak areas. Places where my 3gs and Bold 9700 lost signal the 4 held on strong (calling and texting too). There were a few places where all phones were lost as far as getting a signal, but the iPhone 4 had usable coverage in places others didn't. Later in the afternoon I left on vacation (at the hotel now) and the iPhone 4 held on where the other phones always lost it (the gaps between two towers). My brother complained he didn't have any signal (LG AT&T phone) and I looked at my iPhone 4 and had 2 bars EDGE. Got to the hotel and only had 2 bars 3G with the iPhone 4. I put my brother's sim in my 3gS and that phone remained at 'No Service'. It won't magically create signal, but IMO the iPhone 4 does an amazing job of finding service and holding on in fringe areas. With all of the "reception" issues, I thought I'd just like to point out not all of us are having the same issues.
*I've used BB 9700, 3GS, and v3xx all within the past 3 months or so.
After recently buying a new Milestone outright I'm looking to protect the hell out of it. I currently have purchased a hard case for the phone itself (seidio innocase) as well as a screen protector. Now the next thing that I am looking for is a good Vertical case/pouch.The thing is that it must be vertical and it must be open at the top (I don't want a cover at all.I want to be able to slide the phone in and out easily). I also must have a belt clip on it.I have found a few online, but for what reviews that I have read stated that they are hard to get the phone in and out of when the phone is naked (no case on it). Since I am planning to have the phone in a hard case at all times that particular case will not work for me.
I have seen the pDair case and it looks good, but $28 USD plus shipping (to Canada) I want to make sure that the phone (in a hard case) will fit in it. I havn’t found any reviews on it as of yet either.I know that the iphone & Nexus One are about the same size as the Milestone and wonder if anyone has tried any of those cases with success? As I am sure (especially for the iphone) that there is a wider selection of cases available.
I'm on Fido's network and have already my previous iPhone with Apple for the same issue. My phone just loses reception and goes in "searching" mode. Toggling "airplane" mode doesn't work either. Today I didn't have service for good two hours. Sometimes it would show I have reception but won't allow me to make a call or send text message. My current iPhone is just over a week old but the guy at the Apple store said its an issue with my carrier. I know thats not true since my wife has an iPhone as well and she never has this problem. I'm using the latest version software on my 3GS. Should I swap it again because this is becoming a headache now?
Anyone else having the same problem and if so then have you been able to resolve it?
I've got two (well one's on the way) 3gs iphones. One is a 32gb running 4.0 JB & unlocked that has all the SHSHs on file from 3.0 to 4.0 and is on 04.26.08 baseband. The other one is a 16gb factory unlocked iphone that is on official software.I can easily do with the 16gb limitation and I don't have any problems with "accidentally" upgrading to a new version of iOS. I'm wondering if there is any performance hit by JB & software unlock. I don't think that I've experienced any but then again I don't have anything to compare it to.BTW, I'm on T-mobile and don't have a data plan.
Which would you go with and why? I'm hoping that someone might come up with some reasons for one or the other that I haven't considered. The only reason that I can think of for going with the factory unlocked 16gb is that I'll never have to wait on a JB to update the software.
I recently moved to a basement apartment and have trouble with reception - too much concrete i guess. Anyone know a way of boosting reception on a Blackberry Bold to get better reception quality in such a situation?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need help getting cell tower reception on my phone. Using China Unicom as Network Carrier. I am located in Guangzhou China (a major metropolis). The problem is not with the SIM Card itself because it has been tested and placed in other phones & it works well. Reception Bars fluctuate between 0-2 bars at most, both in and outdoors.Have noticed these problems since upgrading the phone to IOS 5.0 & now also on 5.1.1. No problem with Wi-Fi Networks. I have also tried Resetting the Network & taking out the SIM Card and putting it back in, but this has not helped.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just went from the 8310 to the 9700 and right off noticed that I can no longer hold the talk button and pull up the address book while in the recent call list. From the home screen you can hold the talk button for a couple of seconds and it pulls up the address book but if you just tap the talk button it opens the recent call list. If you hold the talk button from there it tries calling the last number. Anyone know if I can change this to be like the 83xx?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to make a call from my Samsung Galaxy 5, I click on the phone icon, it then gives me a message that my contacts have stopped. The message goes away and my phone goes back to home screen. I can't make any calls. I can receive a call and text. When I text the contact list comes up, but not when I try to make a call. Is there a setting I should look for that I may have accidentally overrode or deleted?

View 8 Replies View RelatedFor those who have the Lumia 950XL, can you comment on signal strength as it relates to the Dual Antenna feature that was touted when the device was first announced? I kept hearing about this Adaptive Antenna Technology that blends signal from two antennas and that the 950XL utilized this technology. Was it just another one of those hype vehicles to sell units or does the Lumia 950XL actually get better signal/reception due to this adaptive antenna feature?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI sold my Omnia i900 and now I only have the C902, I'm looking for a replacement phone and came across ELM and it it around US$230 in my country. Here are my questions
1) Is it a good deal ?
2) What about signal reception issues ? are they fixed with the latest firmware?
3) Screen quality is better than C902 or or worse ?
4) found a slightly used X10 mini for US$280.
What is the phone I should go with? ELM or the X10 mini.
Who's got one and what they like?. I don't trust "reviews" any more I'm only interested in 1st hand experience quite frankly the 6710 is a joke and the E72 seems to be the only thing that compares (on paper at least). So what's peoples opinions, worth getting one?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to increase my service or reception on this phone? I bearly get a bar inside my house and i live in a good coverage zone. I have virgin mobile. View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently debranded my C905a and I want to know if anyone knows for a fact that if by doing so I have reduced my phone's ability to mainain a decent reception signal. If I remeber correctly, I had the same problem before I debranded. I've called Sony Ericsson about the low reception strength and they told me that it was a network problem. I know that is not true b/c before the C905a, I was using a Nokia 2610 (a cheapie until I could upgrade) and that phone always had a signal virtually anywhere and I can count on 1 hand how many dropped calls I had using that phone. I do live out in a semi-rural area but, my mother has a Nokia 6555 (I live w/ her) and she does not have the problem with dropped calls like I do. But, w/ the C905a, I have to put the phone on speaker 3/4 of the time b/c when I put the phone to my ear, it simply looses all reception. The closer to the city I get, the reception problem becomes less an issue.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Atrix was working just fine for the past month, and this morning all of a sudden I'm not getting ANY signal/reception. I can't make phone calls nor send texts. Sometimes the signal comes back but it's just for 2 or 3 minutes and then the signal is completely gone again. When I plug the SIM card into another phone it works just fine so that rules out AT&T's problem. Wi-fi works just fine. I factory reset the phone but the problem still exists. I am already out of the 30-day return/exchange policy, what can I do? Is this problem going to be fixed for the next update?
Screen shot shows when my phone is completely out of signal.
I've lately been considering purchasing a new phone for myself, particularly one that is either a combination of touch screen + keyboard, N900, or all physical, the BB 9700. I've been on these forums for a while ever since the release of the N900, and I know that this being a support forum for Nokia and all, that people are more prone to sharing about their problems rather than success, so that point has been taken into perspective.
For all the N900 owners out there, I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind answering a few questions please;
1. How would you rate your experience with the N900 from start to present? At least from what I incurred, there was a bit of a "rocky' start but I think it smoothed out?
2. How much potential do you see in the N900, vs. how much is there now - present day?
3. How is the feel of the keyboard?
4. Does the fact that it's a resistive touch screen vs. a capacitive one "ruin" in any way, your experience?
5. (For those that own or have owned a N97 and N900).... How are the two compared with each other? I know we may be talking on diferent levels, but what would you say the N97 is more geared towards, and the N900?
6. Are there any problems that you still experience on a daily basis worth mentioning? i.e. automatic reboots, slowing of the user interface - even when a lot of programs aren't opened, etc.
Please feel free to add any bit of extra advice or insight/information that you'd like to share. Honest opinion is always appreciated!
What's better? I now that they are different mobiles but what would you choose? I know that the K850i takes ugly Photos (sharpness) and has some problem with its "OS" (you have to reset it every time). I had no knowledge of bad opinions about the W595.
