Who's got one and what they like?. I don't trust "reviews" any more I'm only interested in 1st hand experience quite frankly the 6710 is a joke and the E72 seems to be the only thing that compares (on paper at least). So what's peoples opinions, worth getting one?

I've lately been considering purchasing a new phone for myself, particularly one that is either a combination of touch screen + keyboard, N900, or all physical, the BB 9700. I've been on these forums for a while ever since the release of the N900, and I know that this being a support forum for Nokia and all, that people are more prone to sharing about their problems rather than success, so that point has been taken into perspective.
For all the N900 owners out there, I was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind answering a few questions please;
1. How would you rate your experience with the N900 from start to present? At least from what I incurred, there was a bit of a "rocky' start but I think it smoothed out?
2. How much potential do you see in the N900, vs. how much is there now - present day?
3. How is the feel of the keyboard?
4. Does the fact that it's a resistive touch screen vs. a capacitive one "ruin" in any way, your experience?
5. (For those that own or have owned a N97 and N900).... How are the two compared with each other? I know we may be talking on diferent levels, but what would you say the N97 is more geared towards, and the N900?
6. Are there any problems that you still experience on a daily basis worth mentioning? i.e. automatic reboots, slowing of the user interface - even when a lot of programs aren't opened, etc.
Please feel free to add any bit of extra advice or insight/information that you'd like to share. Honest opinion is always appreciated!
I've got two (well one's on the way) 3gs iphones. One is a 32gb running 4.0 JB & unlocked that has all the SHSHs on file from 3.0 to 4.0 and is on 04.26.08 baseband. The other one is a 16gb factory unlocked iphone that is on official software.I can easily do with the 16gb limitation and I don't have any problems with "accidentally" upgrading to a new version of iOS. I'm wondering if there is any performance hit by JB & software unlock. I don't think that I've experienced any but then again I don't have anything to compare it to.BTW, I'm on T-mobile and don't have a data plan.
Which would you go with and why? I'm hoping that someone might come up with some reasons for one or the other that I haven't considered.The only reason that I can think of for going with the factory unlocked 16gb is that I'll never have to wait on a JB to update the software.
I've had my phone for about and hour and I think the reception is worse than the previous one even when I'm not holding it.

I've tried the vibrant gps and had no issues. I'm with rogers so the captivate will be coming my way. I also know that most who ***** tend to voice them and those being happy do so away from here! Post your opinions on the voice quality, GPS or the phone in general.

I currently have purchased a hard case for the phone itself (seidio innocase) as well as a screen protector.Now the next thing that I am looking for is a good Vertical case/pouch.The thing is that it must be vertical and it must be open at the top (I don't want a cover at all.I want to be able to slide the phone in and out easily). I also must have a belt clip on it.I have found a few online, but for what reviews that I have read stated that they are hard to get the phone in and out of when the phone is naked (no case on it). Since I am planning to have the phone in a hard case at all times that particular case will not work for me.
I have seen the pDair case and it looks good, but $28 USD plus shipping (to Canada) I want to make sure that the phone (in a hard case) will fit in it. I havn’t found any reviews on it as of yet either.I know that the iphone & Nexus One are about the same size as the Milestone and wonder if anyone has tried any of those cases with success? As I am sure (especially for the iphone) that there is a wider selection of cases available.
I really want to get VM now because they have the 8530. I would really drop my pre+ for one of them especially since verizon is getting quite expensive. How's the service? Although the $300 are a bit of a pain I'm willing to pay it for a cheaper price service. I would greatly appreciate comments from current 8530 and VM users.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new E72 and am wondering why there is no current firmware available for this device. I just checked at the Nokia website "Can I update my Nokia device software" which says that there is no software available for this device. This is the same answer you get when entering an invalid product code, meaning that there is not even the SW revision displayed which is currently installed (021.024).
I called Nokia in Germany and they also were not able to tell me why for this PC no FW is available.Does anybody have an idea why for this product code there is no current FW available (I have seen that there is 23.002 or at least 22.007 available for every device).Does Nokia also sell "second quality" devices where no FW update is possible. The lack of knowledge and communication even when talking to Nokia directly makes me wonder.
Just got a n900 and didnt know there is no mms. what??? every nokia has one. will there be a firmware update to add mms?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had Nokia comes with music on a N95 last year and all was going well until my contract was up and I changed my phone for a 5800 CWM edition. I followed the instructions on how to activate my new phone and the Nokia music store said that the phone was already registered. I have contacted Nokia who suggested creating a new account (which didn't work). i am currently waiting on Nokia to get back to me but this is a very slow process. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

First thing I did was source another cable, 3 in fact. Same problem.
I then reinstalled Ovi Suite. Error messages appeared on most of the re-installation..
Nokia connectivity cable driver is one example.
I tried this on 3 different pc's... same problem
By a process of elimination ... Its not my pc, its not the cable. Is it my phone? If yes, could it be repaired?
When I connect my N97 to PC and start NSU program cant find phone. However PC Suite works fine and finds phone. Whats the problem? Ive reinstalled NSU a couple of times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI paired my bh-905 headphones with my iPhone 4 and then with my PC as the second paired device. To do this I turned off the iPhone, held the multifunction button on the phone down until the phones entered discovery mode (blinking blue light), and then they are seen at the PC, no problem. Both ways they work well with great sound, and with the iPhone calls ring in and the music continues when done with the call. I usually use them at work, connected to the iPhone, but sometimes at home I want to use them with the PC. To connect to the PC, I first turn off the iPhone bluetooth, but then I can't get the phones to connect to the PC again unless I remove their bluetooth entry from the PC and re-pair as a new device. It's a small quibble, but other bluetooth sets I own will find the other active devices to which they're paired.Is there a procedue to switch the blutetooth connection from one already paired device to another without re-pairing the phones each time?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have got a big problem. Actualy I can't install any apps, can't accpet any sms, can't save new call history and can start some already installed apps..I already try this:
1, apt-get clean -> i do it as root, it seems thats it is done succesfully, but didnt help
2, apt-get autoremove -> I do it as root too, but it says:"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --config -a' to correct the problem", so when I type dpkg --configure -a it says:"dpkg: unable to open/create status databasa lockfile: No space left on device"
3, I tryid to reinstal OS via PC suite.. ..but it still fail with reinstalation(a long time ago i already updated OS 2 times)
4,I already tried flasher, but I'm still geting "...%m"error
I have installed OVI PC suite on my laptopwith windows 7. After successful installation of suite, when i connect my N900 with laptop, it gives an error your device is not supported.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor a change, this is not a post to complain about my phone. Just a post to say thanx to Nokia. I got a 5800 since about a year now. At the beginning I was a little bit disappointed because of no office document reader, no free navigation, no kinetic scrolling but all these came, one by one, every 3 months or so.
And I am just so happy with what I can do with it (Calendar sync with Outlook, MP3, stereo audio bluetooth, read my emails with WiFi, use Google Maps, Google Mail) and with the improvements that have been delivered through the several firmware releases. Especially OVI MAPS with Free worldwide GPS Navigation, this is so cool. And the new music player, and the free Office document reader.
Of course there is always room for improvement. I'd like to :
- sync my address book & mail with Thunderbird
- open PDF document
- get rid of the Nokia internet browser for the new Opera
- never have to restart my phone for software problem
- charge it from USB etc.
As I can't find this information on official pages (only on DVB-H general specs). Can you confirm if Nokia N96 and other models support DVB-H in all modes ? 2K, 4K, 8K modulation modes.
