I have a 1661 with a tone composer on it. i would like to know how to use it. i do not want to download anything for any reason, nor would i like to sign up for your ringtone website. i just want to learn how to use this app on my phone.

It is so quiet that to hear someone that I am on the phone with I have to turn on speakerphone or be in a completely silent room and press the phone really strongly against my ear. Whenever my girlfriend sends me an SMS that exceeds 160 characters (a double SMS), I don't receive a "message" on my phone saying "1 new text message" (in Dutch: "1 nieuw bericht"). My phone also doesn't give the sound and/or vibration warning, even if it is supposed to do so (I checked the preferences multiple times).
However, I DO get a "messagepictogram" at the top of my screen (The little yellow envelope). When I go to my inbox, it says indeed that I have 1 new, unopened message, but when I open this textmessage, it is always an SMS I received previously from her. (and 90% of the time this is the same previous SMS)..
I have a Nokia 2680 and I fully charged my bluetooth earpieces.On my phone, I set the Bluetooth on, gave my phone a name and selected phone's visibility to all.When I try to add a paired device to add the bluetooth, it gives me a message saying no device found.The bluetooth earpiece is right next to the phone. View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought a brand new E72 and am wondering why there is no current firmware available for this device. I just checked at the Nokia website "Can I update my Nokia device software" which says that there is no software available for this device. This is the same answer you get when entering an invalid product code, meaning that there is not even the SW revision displayed which is currently installed (021.024).
I called Nokia in Germany and they also were not able to tell me why for this PC no FW is available.Does anybody have an idea why for this product code there is no current FW available (I have seen that there is 23.002 or at least 22.007 available for every device).Does Nokia also sell "second quality" devices where no FW update is possible. The lack of knowledge and communication even when talking to Nokia directly makes me wonder.
Just got a n900 and didnt know there is no mms. what??? every nokia has one. will there be a firmware update to add mms?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI had Nokia comes with music on a N95 last year and all was going well until my contract was up and I changed my phone for a 5800 CWM edition. I followed the instructions on how to activate my new phone and the Nokia music store said that the phone was already registered. I have contacted Nokia who suggested creating a new account (which didn't work). i am currently waiting on Nokia to get back to me but this is a very slow process. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs of yesterday my usb cable for my N95 8GB was working as it should. Now I get an error message 'USB device not recognised.... unkown device'
First thing I did was source another cable, 3 in fact. Same problem.
I then reinstalled Ovi Suite. Error messages appeared on most of the re-installation..
Nokia connectivity cable driver is one example.
I tried this on 3 different pc's... same problem
By a process of elimination ... Its not my pc, its not the cable. Is it my phone? If yes, could it be repaired?
Who's got one and what they like?. I don't trust "reviews" any more I'm only interested in 1st hand experience quite frankly the 6710 is a joke and the E72 seems to be the only thing that compares (on paper at least). So what's peoples opinions, worth getting one?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI paired my bh-905 headphones with my iPhone 4 and then with my PC as the second paired device. To do this I turned off the iPhone, held the multifunction button on the phone down until the phones entered discovery mode (blinking blue light), and then they are seen at the PC, no problem. Both ways they work well with great sound, and with the iPhone calls ring in and the music continues when done with the call. I usually use them at work, connected to the iPhone, but sometimes at home I want to use them with the PC. To connect to the PC, I first turn off the iPhone bluetooth, but then I can't get the phones to connect to the PC again unless I remove their bluetooth entry from the PC and re-pair as a new device. It's a small quibble, but other bluetooth sets I own will find the other active devices to which they're paired.Is there a procedue to switch the blutetooth connection from one already paired device to another without re-pairing the phones each time?

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have got a big problem. Actualy I can't install any apps, can't accpet any sms, can't save new call history and can start some already installed apps..I already try this:
1, apt-get clean -> i do it as root, it seems thats it is done succesfully, but didnt help
2, apt-get autoremove -> I do it as root too, but it says:"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --config -a' to correct the problem", so when I type dpkg --configure -a it says:"dpkg: unable to open/create status databasa lockfile: No space left on device"
3, I tryid to reinstal OS via PC suite.. ..but it still fail with reinstalation(a long time ago i already updated OS 2 times)
4,I already tried flasher, but I'm still geting "...%m"error
I have installed OVI PC suite on my laptopwith windows 7. After successful installation of suite, when i connect my N900 with laptop, it gives an error your device is not supported.

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor a change, this is not a post to complain about my phone. Just a post to say thanx to Nokia. I got a 5800 since about a year now. At the beginning I was a little bit disappointed because of no office document reader, no free navigation, no kinetic scrolling but all these came, one by one, every 3 months or so.
And I am just so happy with what I can do with it (Calendar sync with Outlook, MP3, stereo audio bluetooth, read my emails with WiFi, use Google Maps, Google Mail) and with the improvements that have been delivered through the several firmware releases. Especially OVI MAPS with Free worldwide GPS Navigation, this is so cool. And the new music player, and the free Office document reader.
Of course there is always room for improvement. I'd like to :
- sync my address book & mail with Thunderbird
- open PDF document
- get rid of the Nokia internet browser for the new Opera
- never have to restart my phone for software problem
- charge it from USB etc.
As I can't find this information on official pages (only on DVB-H general specs). Can you confirm if Nokia N96 and other models support DVB-H in all modes ? 2K, 4K, 8K modulation modes.
