View 5 RepliesI'm loving everything about the i4 but I simply can't get the phone to hold a signal long enough to talk while holding it because of either the hardware or software issues. I was just trying to call my wife to tell her there was a huge storm coming and she couldn't hear me after a few seconds when the bars started dropping.
View 18 Replies View RelatedFinally got my new iPhone 4.First thing I noticed was that the signal dropped to nothing when I held it in my hand at the bottom of the phone .the same way I have always held an iPhone.Made a phone call yesterday and the call dropped when I accidentally moved my hand to the bottom.Do the bumpers actually solve this problem or is that a myth?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI have been pretty happy with my iPhone 4 up until today but I have discovered a bit of a problem. When I touch the bottom left of the phone the signal drops 1 - 2 bars.It has not been dropping calls but I dont think my phone should be doing this. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

just got rounf to updating my iphone 4 to 5.1.1 from 5.0.1. ever since i have experienced a problem with the internet.
the wifi symbol will always show when near the several wifi spot that i visit. but when i try to use emails/safari/Internet/apps(that access the net) it will say no connection or internet. if i turn off the wifi and then turn it back on the emails/safari/Internet etc. will work for a while till i leave the phone for a couple of mins.
when using safari and mail the the circle(next to wifi) cycles around but then shows ("cannot open page...safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".)
never had a problem before till the update. i have tried reinstalling a fresh copy of ios 5.1.1 while in dfu mode. clearing network settings, setup the iphone as a new iphone(not restoring from back up)

I'm at the end of my tether! My iPhone4 drops calls for absolutely no reason at all, at least 50% of the time.It doesn't matter how strong my signal is, or whether the call is outgoing or incoming. The person on the other end doesn't sound like they are breaking up either - it just goes suddenly silent.Then, when I press 'end call'the phone freezes on 'call ending' - the only way out of this is then to reboot the phone.I've been back to the Apple Store in Glasgow twice, and to their credit they have replaced my handset twice within the last year;
however despite my THIRD handset doing exactly the same, they have told me that no more replacements will be given.I have tried doing a master reset and setting up again as a new phone to eliminate the possibility that something within my back-up is corrupt, but the end result is the same.I have five different Apple devices at home and am a huge fan, but I'm afraid this is making me envious of my friends who have Android phones (sorry, didn't mean to swear

I have been using my iphone 5 since the last 9 months. The wifi just worked fine at home when connecting with the wifi router. It also worked fine everywhere I went where there was a wifi zone. Since the last 7 days or so I am facing a sudden problem. When connecting to my home Wifi, it shows full signal strength, yet the internet connection drops. At times, even whatsapp does not work, cannot send images most of the times. Apple store, iTunes and emails stops working mostly. I have reset my wireless router recenty and still this problem persists. There does not seem to be any problem with the router because other devices like my laptop and other mobile phones are working fine with wifi.

I've been experiencing this strange problem for few weeks with my N8. When I'm receiving or making a call, network signal level drops from full to 2 bars. Happens only when i hold my phone from its lower end(where menu button is located). As long as i hold phone from its upper end(where audio jack is located), signal level is maintained to full bars. Such fluctuations don't occur when phone is lying still somewhERE. Signal starts dropping only when phone is held by its lower end. Happens while accessing 3G too. Is this a normal thing? I checked after changing SIM and switching to another network provider. Still the same.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThere was me thinking only the Iphone 4 had this issue! It drops from say 4 bars to about 1. Holding the top end seems OK. It is holding the phone "normally" or holding the bottom end which almost kills the signal.
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy x10i keeps dropping its wifi connection. it is in an "excellent" signal strength area. i can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. when the mobile network signal drops, then the wifi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. when the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the wifi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. this cycling is happening every minute or two. which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. exact issue described below with Internet clip: [url]. things improve if i turn off 3g and set network to gsm only.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a Z3 Dual sim D6633 and around twice a day either when receiving or making a call the phone suddenly drops out during conversation and both network strength bars are showing no signal. a message briefly shows up saying no no network signal ( or something to that effect ) then dissappears. A few seconds later the signal comes back for both sims and all is ok again. Why this is happening but its becoming frustrating especially when I have to call clients back.
View 9 Replies View RelatedHTC sensation drops its cell phone signal suddenly, restarting with battery removed helps for few minutes only. Believe its the antenna connected to the panel. However,it works the same (drops after few minutes) when the cover is NOT ON, whereas I thought the cover including the back has the antenna and replacing cover helped few.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving issue on my D6633 since KitKat, now updated to LP 5.0.2 23.1.1.E.0.1 and still same. When I go in 5 meters from router behind 2 walls and signal strength decrease a bit download speed drops almost to Zero, but upload speed is ok.
Check below video, I have 46080 / 3072 kbps for download /upload... Tried all possible settings combinations without success. Stamina mode never used..

When near router 2-3 m without any obstacles download speed is ok. Any other my phone (Samsunf S3 for ex.) have no such issue in same location...
Does anyone have any recommendations to improve the reception (and thus prevent excessively frequent dropped calls) while using my Atrix 4G in a fringe reception area outside of San Diego? Some background info:I had an AT&T Nokia 6030 for almost five (5) years before upgrading my service to the Atrix.I live and work from the same location, which has not changed during those five years.I did not encounter the problems of dropping calls on the Nokia 6030. I routinely call the very same people at aproxmately the very same times and days of the week with the very same phone numbers from the very same locations in my home and shop... sitting in my office desk chair, standing at my shop workbench, seated at my kitchen table, lying on my bed... and as far as I can telI, nothing on my end or on the other person's end has changed... phone numbers, land or mobile, calling patterns... but ever since I upgraded to the Atrix, I've had this problem consistently from the very first day.
I contacted AT&T many times, and they sent a warranty replacement phone; same resulting performance. The signal strength meter on the phone typically reads 2-3 bars in this area, which AT&T says should be sufficient.)It is so touchy and position/orientation sensitive that I can often drop the call from simply turning my head, or if lying in bed at night, switching the phAT&T went through the entire customer service/tech support gamut with me:Power down recycle, remove & reinstall the battery, replace the original SIM card that came with the Nokia (which still works flawlessly under identical circumstances if I put the SIM card back into it!), run network diagnostics on the tower equipment... they even sent out a crew of field engineers to the property to assess the signal characteristics.
After months of evaluation by the engineering department, they finally determined that the San Diego area is very high in signal strength, and the problem is due to the immediate area where I am located... hills, valleys, canyons, etc. There was nothing more that they could do. That was simply the level of performance I had to accept from this phone in this location. (Sorry.)I still don't know why the primitive technology in that old Nokia doesn't miss a beat. I find it hard to accept that the flagship product with advanced technology can't perform anywhere near as well as this dated Nokia. But I like the Atrix so much in every other way, I would even pay for a stationary antenna and/or signal conditioning/amplification equipment at my location to be able to use it here.
I have not found any such equipment offered for sale by either Motorola or AT&T listed on their websites. I know that there are aftermarket companies that sell such items, but I would really like to know if anyone has any specific experience with those items, particularly when used with the Atrix, or at least any reason to advise in one way or another toward a solution.
I'm having a strange problem with my new Xperia Z3 Dual ever since I updated it to Lollipop. I’m using two SIM cards from two different operators. But every morning I notice that there is no signal available for SIM2. Signal comes back to normal on SIM2, if a call received or if I made an outgoing call from SIM1. Otherwise I have to switch on to Airplane Mode and switch it off every time to get the signal back. Because of this issue the battery drains so fast during night (due to loss of signal for 6-7hrs). And also I notice sudden call drops during conversations within 5-10 minutes after receiving or making a call.
I checked the same SIM using another phone to get verified whether this issue is related with the operator. But there I didn’t notice this strange behaviour. Hopefully this is something related with my Xperia Z3 Dual. I’m using WCDMA(Preferred)/GSM on SIM1 and GSM Only on SIM2.
After upgrading to ios 5.1 on my 4s wifi drops and 3g network suddenly drops and shows edge connectivity

I live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
Anybody else having this problem?
here is jonathan ive from apple talking about apple design philosophy (go to 1:00 in the video if you want a real laugh!). granted it is a promo video for ipad, but it still is funny given the issues with iphone 4 and the "don't hold it that way" emails from steve jobs.
transcript:
"there is no right or wrong way of holding it. i don't have to change myself to fit the product. it fits me!"

I have an iphone 3G that I got in September last year. In the last few weeks it has stopped holding a charge. I will leave for work in the morning with 100% charge and by 2:00 the phone is out of charge and turns off. I don't use it, apps are closed and wi fi is off. Why is in not holding charge? What can I do?

I've had my phone for about and hour and I think the reception is worse than the previous one even when I'm not holding it.

View 11 Replies View RelatedGot my IPhone on Monday and I haven't had any problems until today when i grabbed my phone and i heard a cracking noise coming from behind the the device. Its only when I apply very little pressure to the back with my fingers or when I am touching the screen from the front. Everything works fine still but the noise is getting me concerned.
