As the title said, my ovi suite crashed during the installation process of the new software ( 31.0.005 ). I did a backup of my phone, but don't know if this and how this is accessible? My phone wont start now.. I don't know what to do.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was updating my Nokia 5530 XpressMusic through Nokia Software Updater. Then suddenly the application crashed! -_-".The phone was stuck on a pure white screen and didn't do anything new for five minutes. I eventually took out the battery. When I reinserted and turned on screen doesn't turn on, the vibrator just starts and doesn't stop. I've removed the battery for about 15 minutes and tried again but no luck.What are my options with support? The phone is new so should be under warranty.

Problem: BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) occurs constantly.
I think the problem is the phone drivers (via cable). The program itself shouldn't be it.I made a system recovery, which worked. And my computer was restored. But when I tried once again the same problem occurred.
How can I use the phone with the computer without getting the BSOD?
I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
I just updated my mobile phone and all my messages was gone.So I did a restore all my messages and setting and now the phone cannot start.how can I fix this?
View 18 Replies View RelatedAs I was updating my N900 to the newest firmware, my computer crashed (not because of the install, I was running other hardware intencive programs.) and I'm 100% sure it wasn't finished installing the firmware when it had crashed.
But when my computer crashed the phone seemed to running normally and when it was finished installing it worked fine. Is it possible that it didn't finish?Either way just to be on the safe side, how do I reinstall the update to be 100%?
I live in the UK and just found out this update is now available, shall i update? any problems with it? shall i back up?
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo the update is available for the UK phones and I updated my 5530 to the v.20 firmware. Unlike what most users say that the phone is faster, I dont really find that to be the case. When I startup, it takes awhile longer. Sometimes the wallpaper appears and then disappears and then reappears again with the contacts bar and everything. The problem really seems to be the home screen. Every time I go back to the home screen or click on menu, theres a black line in the center, a flash n nothing happens or a flash n it works. Sometimes, the flash is not there and the menu just opens up. I dont really know how to explain that, but I hope uve got an idea of what i'm saying. I'm wondering if I should soft reset.
View 7 Replies View RelatedGot the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on install option from OVI Suite to update to the latest version, It keeps saying there's no network connection even though my net connection works fine. i tried installing the new version of Ovi Suite by downloading from Nokia Site, even that hangs after a while of installtion progress. Is there a easy way to upgrade or update new Ovi Suite ? Also if I cancel any installation mid way, I am not able to start it again unless I clear all installation files after restarting.this is frustrating to see a simple software upgrade is so cubersome.

Over The Air, but there was no clear definition on how to do that, So I want to the other option, Nokia Ovi PC Suite. The download kept failing but it kept resuming when I tried to download the update again. After the download finished Usually you do not need the internet to install something that you already downloaded (Should Always Be Like That!!) So I thought that and while the update was installing Nokia Ovi PC Suite said something about Cannot Connect To Service, Although My Internet was PERFECT! and I tried to turn on my E63 and it would just vibrate and then turn off. I tried reviving it by leaving the battery out for 5 mins ( I also left it out for 6 hours) And when you turn it on Hold the Green Button Call And the 3 and the *. View 75 Replies View RelatedSo this might be a little long winded, but it's just what I've been through so I cant' really condense it down anymore.So a few days ago now (almost a week) I received an SMS from Nokia telling me to update my phone firmware. I then hooked my phone up to my PC, and checked for software updates. I updated OVI Suite to the latest version, rebooted and then checked again. It found the update for my phone and asked if I wished to apply it. Naturally I said yes, it then told me I should backup my phone first, and then asked if I would like to do that now, which I said yes to, and chose to backup everything. It then downloaded the update, applied it, and then asked me to restore my phone, All of which appeared to work fine.A quick look through my phone to check everything and it all appeared normal, My custom theme was there, my facebook app was there, my contacts/photos/music were there. Oh but wait, I was missing my Sudoku game. A little odd, yes, but no worries I got that from the OVI store, I'll just be able to re-download it, because that's why you make purchases from app stores instead of publishers directly.No, apparently not. This game wasn't listed in my "My Stuff" tab in the OVI application. That's ok, I'll just download it from the SMS I was sent originally.

So at a loss I decide to turn to technical support, I mean after all I have a technical issue I need support with.I e-mail technical support Basically telling them above. Then then ask for a transaction ID, which I have no record of (not sure why not?). I then provide even more information, ask them to escalate, ect. End result is, I don't get my game back. They have no record of me downloading this in the past, and for some reason it isn't available to download anymore.Frustrated, I e-mail the developer/publisher, explaining my situation. They respond promptly (within the hour), providing my with a link and SMS to download the application again, and apologise for Nokia's behaviour. Nice. I've now got my game back things are good again in my world.So with that little story in mind, I raise a few questions. Why was this application not backed up/restored with my phone backup? This seems like a pretty serious bug, especially considering that technical support won't provide download links for games or applications unless you can provide them with information provided by Nokia in the first place ( :s very round about).
My situation is pretty small in the whole scheme of things I guess. But if it can happen to me I guess it can happen to others. So why Nokia can things like this happen? What would have happened if this wasn't a small game, but rather a largish application, with data, that cost lots of money? Sure I could have gone directly to the publisher then as well, but if the purchase was made through the OVI store, what record would they have of me? This centralised store is supposed to handle all of these problems (ie, Steam or Apple App Store). Also how can bugs like this get through the alpha/beta testing of the OVI Suite backup utility? This must surely be considered a critical part of the application.Judging from my response from Nokia thus far, I'm not sure if I'm even expecting a response to this. I guess it should server as a warning to others if they think they can trust this software or even the technical support behind it to back them up in case of issues. My advise? Get a different brand phone.
OVI suite can't update the support softare on my N97... it's says "unable to install support software". Any solutions? On the PC I already unistall all Nokia software, used PCSuite Cleaner and cleaned the registry and then reinstall OVI Suite.I don't wont to hard reset the phone, format drive E and reinstall all the software.

I connect my phone to the pc, and the recognizes it, so i go to the update section in nokia suite 3.3.86, it then says my phones current software is 022.014, i click refresh, and it says my phone is up to date, but i know it isnt! I have been looking forward to symbian belle, now its here i cant get it!

So I do and it downloads ok, all 272MB of it, but it keeps on disconnecting when trying to install to the N8. The phone switches off and stays off. I leave it for 10 minutes because of a post I seen just to be on the safe side but still nothing.

I kept trying for over three hours yesterday, and again today. So, I tried to install via "Check for Updates" on the phone itself, but this says "No updates". Is there a way around this?

everything was working fine until I updated the Ovi Suite to v 2.1.1.245 then phone wouldnt sync anymore. I restore the computer back to the date before the Ovi suite was updated taking it back to v 2.1.1.1. now the phone still wil not sync. any ideas ? (Im syncing with the usb cable). I often get a messege telling me to set my phone to "set my phones usb mode to ovi suite or PC Suite" which I do of course but no success just fails to sync evrytime now. wish I had nevver tryed to update the ovi software now.
