Ive just got a 5230 and im really pleased with it.One thing I am finding is that when I use something like the Web, or I access settings, it leaves the little icon which says its running even when I exit back to the home screen.I thought they would stop running after some time, so I left it over night, but this morning they still have the little icon next to them.How do I stop them running?

View 8 Replies View RelatedYesterday, My battery indicator has a four level bars, I left my phone for 5 hours & when I returned to it I found it turned off !!I turned it on again & I found that the battery indicator has one level bar only !!This situation has happens to me 3 times before.I note that I did not open any applications in background or camera .. etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Nokia 701 with FP2, Whenever I open the default browser or software update, the background apps or open apps like Nokia store, opera mini are closing on their own. When I closed the software update and started to use the opera mini and Nokia store, the Nokia store app is closing on its own. Other problems with fp2 are, camera takes long time to open. Gallery opens but we cannot tap on images, same thing with thumbnail image in the camera sometimes.

Everything appears normal except it does not ask me where I want to install the app. Instead it just stops the whole process and does nothing. I have plenty of memory. I did a Soft reset I believe going to settings>phone>phone management > factory settings... I used the code 12345. That did not solve the problem. I tried doing a hard reset using #7370# but the phone kept responding with "request not complete".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a question/problem. I set my home screen theme to "Shortcuts bar" and i try to see the five bars that appears In the "home screen" adjust menu. I mark the 5 options but in the home screen only appears the "Shortcuts bar" and the "Search" bar. I can't see the "Music player", "Radio" and "Calendar" bars. Somebody knows why?

2. Why I cannot update Ovi maps 3.01 to 3.03 ? I openen the file on PC and installed it on the phone but when I try to open the maps it flashes Ovi maps interface for 0.5s and then goes back to the main menu.
I have a Nokia nuron 5230. After a master reset can you recover the apps you had installed before? The memory card still shows the same free space, so the apps are still there somewhere, I jsut can't find them through the file organizer yet

Now I can't open the two apps (Istagram and TED) and when I try to continue downloading it says it's unable to. If I delete and reinstall the app I'll also be deleting the data, and for Instagram that's not something I really want to do. How do I restart an app??

When I click on sign in it takes me to a page where I can enter my company domain user name and password and enter a pin number.When I try to set up a gmail account on the phone so that I can use the builtin email and calendar apps the account setup will not let me continue without entering a password.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm an avid app-hopper.. on my 32Gb 3GS, I have a tendency to hop from app to app, into safari, then into another app etc. What I'm finding is that after doing this, some titles (usually games such as Airport Mania and Monopoly) start running really slugglishly (and Monopoly starts complaining that it's running out of memory) until I open the taskbar and start closing everything there.
I may have missed it but is there any way to tell which apps are 'running' in the background and which aren;t - or do we assume that all apps in the taskbar are doing so? (although when I have restarted an app from the taskbar, most load up again from scratch).
So I'm just wondering if there's a way to disable this feature so that when I press the Home button, I know the app is actually closing properly?

To see one app roll off screen to the left as another quickly rolls on from the right is just simply pleasing to watch. App switching on the 3GS is hitch free, I'm excited to see how well my iPhone 4 will do with twice the RAM.
so is there a way to "close" and app instead of it "minimizing" in the background I know you can double tap home, hold an icon, and then close it that way" but this is quite the hastle doing this every time i exit an app..and im sure the more apps you have in your "minimize tray" the faster your battery drains... correct?
have you guys found any way to close an app with out it minimizing? or even an magic "remove all" button to close all open apps...

Ok so I am an ex android user, so this is a question is coming from an ex user. Anyways... ever morning before I start my day, I go in and close all the running app in the background one by one. Is there a way to not have to close them down one by one?
View 9 Replies View RelatedYou know how when you open an application, and just press the hangup / power key, it exits the application from the screen but it still keeps running in the background memory. I have noticed that such applications in the memory can drain the battery real quick. I was wondering if anyway on the phone you can check which applications are currently running in the background memory? If i can find that out, I can just exit all the apps and save my battery life. Let me know if anyone knows a way to do so.

My home button is very tempermental. Took it into the store and they showed me how to turn off apps running in background and that helped for a while. Now I have to touch it upwards of 20 times to get it to work.

Since I have updated to the new version, I have noticed that the market will show that I have updates available for some applications/games that I have already updated. When I select that app/game, it does not give me the option to update, only "open" or "uninstall". This is not crucial but pretty annoying considering I like to keep everything on my device (including apps/games) updated to the most current version.

However, I'm wondering why these apps keep restarting again. The sort of things that keep restarting are Gallery, Messaging, Yahoo! Messenger, Email, Skype, Maps, etc. I'm sure that I'm signed out on all of these apps and have the settings set such that they shouldn't keep restarting/synching. Are there any apps similar to 'msconfig' in Windows where you can tick which things you want to start up and what you don't?

On the X these would always stay active when surfing the web, playing most games, etc. They now last about 2 minutes before something is killing there processes. I am not using a task killer. It seems to be more of a problem when the X2 is docked.
