HTC :: G1 Is It Possible To Find Colorful Housing?
Jun 12, 2010My G1 housing is SEVERELY scratched and scuffed. I hate faceplates so I was thinking about changing out the housing (maybe go from an all black G1 to an "oreo (black and white)" themed G1).The thing is, I've searched all over eBay for a housing but they're ALL from either China or Hong Kong.Plus, I've heard of people messing up their screens/the cam button won't work/reception gone bad/etc.My questions are:
-Has anyone tried doing this?
-Success Stories anyone?
-Where can I find a housing set MADE in the US (or can you consider a good website)?
-Is it possible to find a colorful housing? Like back when I had a BB pearl, I changed the housing from black/silver to metallic lime green/black (courtesy of eBay )..
I've considered taking the housing off and spray-painting it, but that sounds risky to me.

Galaxy S5 :: Dialer / Keypad Contact Search Can't Find Certain Contacts
Mar 16, 2015All I did was modify my contacts settings to display contacts according to "custom settings" (instead of displaying contacts from ALL ACCOUNTS) and random contacts seemed to be ignored by the keypad lookup. When I would switch to the "Contacts" tab of the dialer and type out the name/ keyword, the same contact I was searching for WOULD be found. I even changed back to "All contacts" in the select contacts to display settings, but that didn't work.
An example of what I'm experiencing: when searching for a restaurant called "Second Grill", I would type in Grill using the keypad, and 6 other restaurants with Grill in their name popped up, but not Second Grill. When I typed in "Grill" in the contacts tab, "Second Grill" did show up as expected. Before changing the contacts settings at all, I know the lookup for Second Grill worked because I used it regularly.
I next went to Settings --> Applications --> Application manager and found 3 different "Phone" apps and cleared the cache of each one. Still didn't work. I did not try "Clear Data" for each one, as I was warned this would delete the application files (that didn't sound like what I wanted to do).

Jun 21, 2010I bought a "new" nokia 6500 from ebay and when I received it I realized that there was a space from the keypad to the housing itself. when the keypad light is on you can see light from behind the keypad, I don't think this is an authentic nokia housing. I think the ebay shop switched the housing to a fake ebay housing. Is there any other way to tell if its a fake housing?

Sep 9, 2010i was an ***** to attempt to do a housing upgrade by myself. anyway, i followed a Internet video on how to change your housing and i bought the housing off ebay so i was waiting until this week to change it got frustrated (nobody in my area has an expertise in blackberry) yes i'm quite the berry newb. so as i followed this vid: Internet - how to swap blackberry tour 9630 housing change disassembly flash and speakerphone 1 of 3. i did everything the guy said and everything was perfect. the red light came on which was a good indicator to me, but when it all finally loaded it became all screwy. my tour always has that device password lock you have to sign in before you can enter the main screen, anyway the password wouldn't go through until 3 times (i had to do it slowly) i assumed it was from the stiffness of the new keyboard/pad that wasn't all, my trackball seems like it was desensitized! i've been looking all over for info and Internet vids, but the trackball will only scroll one application over to the bottom or one to the right that's it! or if i scroll it to the right repeatedly, it will scroll downwards slowly. it won't scroll up or any other direction. even if i try to scroll in one direction it'll just keep scrolling down?also the reception bars on the top right corner of the screen is either really low (which it shouldn't because i never had an issue with the reception or trackball with the original oem housing) and theres a diagonal arrow that keeps blinking (when blackberry is trying to see can find a good reception, or that's what i presume)and the device lock keeps locking by itself. my phone like blackouts for a little bit and goes back to the device lock by itself?! i have to keep putting my password in but again the problem is either i'll get the incorrect password for a certain amount of times or just the trackball won't work . i have to press it really harder for it to "enter" on device lock.

Nov 12, 2015Recently I damaged the rear housing on my HTC One M9, the damage to my knowledge was only external as all features of the phone still worked perfectly (including NFC). I ordered a replacement rear housing online from etradesupply. I am not sure if the replacement was genuine but I can say it was high quality and seemed legit.
I fitted the rear housing only touching the two screws at the top of the phone making sure I did not move and flex cables or antenna's.
For some reason the NFC has never worked since, I have tested on various different tags / payment readers and still no success.

May 5, 2010I changed my Berry to white earlier today and now I'm noticing some problems with my network coverage. I didn't change the black part where the SIM and memory card etc. are held. I change the bezel, bottom cover, battery cover and keypad. I get 'SOS' often and it randomly says 'Searching for network', sometimes as soon as I try to send a text. I am on Orange UK and people have had problems in the past few days with them so I'm wondering if it was the housing that caused it?

Apr 19, 2010I purchased a w385 on ebay. When I received it I tested it and the keypad worked, as well as the camera and all the menus.I then proceeded to activate it on Page Plus Cellular. Customer Service rep asked me to press *22890 for the OTA reprogramming and after that sequence/process the keypad stopped working correctly.
After that when I open the flip phone it automatically dials *, sometimes I can dial one or two numbers and then it stops. But the majority of the time none of the numbers, nor the clear, camera, send or menu buttons work.I can still receive calls.To try to fix it I flashed to the latest firmware version (.18). No improvement so then back to the one that was on the phone (.16). Still no improvement.Are there any suggestions to try to have the phone work correctly?
Motorola Atrix 4G :: Keypad Not Working During Calls?
Aug 27, 2011I have searched everywhere for a solution to this problem and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the sameproblem. During a call, when asked to enter my phone number, passcode, etc., the keypad disappears every time I try to press a key. When I get a key to press it stays on long and disrupts the call I am on. It makes it difficult to use my phone to call in to call centers as I cannot press the numeric option I need.

Oct 11, 2011I recently got my Atrix from Orange. I've had it less than a month and now I'm having problems with my keypad. It only seems to happen when I'm texting or onf faebook. I can't see what im writing unless i back out of the text so I can only see where the text is entered. It also lags whilst I'm writing or takes itself out off the message entering screen periodically. It has only just started happening but it's very infuriating. I don't have a screen protector on and it works fine on google, browser and emailing.

Jun 27, 2011One minor irratation I have is the phone keypad not being present when making a call. For instance, if you get a voicemail and you tap on the icon the standard active call screen opens, but you then need to touch an icon to open up the dialer pad so you can interact with the voicemail system. Is there any setting that allows the dialer pad to open automatically when a call is made? Would be really great if this feature could be selective for certain numbers such as voicemail.
