View 2 Repliesi was an ***** to attempt to do a housing upgrade by myself. anyway, i followed a Internet video on how to change your housing and i bought the housing off ebay so i was waiting until this week to change it got frustrated (nobody in my area has an expertise in blackberry) yes i'm quite the berry newb. so as i followed this vid: Internet - how to swap blackberry tour 9630 housing change disassembly flash and speakerphone 1 of 3. i did everything the guy said and everything was perfect. the red light came on which was a good indicator to me, but when it all finally loaded it became all screwy. my tour always has that device password lock you have to sign in before you can enter the main screen, anyway the password wouldn't go through until 3 times (i had to do it slowly) i assumed it was from the stiffness of the new keyboard/pad that wasn't all, my trackball seems like it was desensitized! i've been looking all over for info and Internet vids, but the trackball will only scroll one application over to the bottom or one to the right that's it! or if i scroll it to the right repeatedly, it will scroll downwards slowly. it won't scroll up or any other direction. even if i try to scroll in one direction it'll just keep scrolling down?also the reception bars on the top right corner of the screen is either really low (which it shouldn't because i never had an issue with the reception or trackball with the original oem housing) and theres a diagonal arrow that keeps blinking (when blackberry is trying to see can find a good reception, or that's what i presume)and the device lock keeps locking by itself. my phone like blackouts for a little bit and goes back to the device lock by itself?! i have to keep putting my password in but again the problem is either i'll get the incorrect password for a certain amount of times or just the trackball won't work . i have to press it really harder for it to "enter" on device lock.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to change my email settings as i changed my email account. When i go to "Setup", "Email Accounts", then click on "Internet Mail Account", it simply circulates back to "Email Accounts". It keeps doing this repeatedly. I have done a soft and hard reset (by removing battery) and have updated software but nothing seems to help.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
Title speaks for its self. They just posted on there wall they will be offering it. No details as to when/price.

Im looking for a touch pro housing. I have googled it and only have found several with the digitizer ( but i dont need one or the screen ) thought someone might be able to suggest a good company here in the US or even a place i can buy a used non working touch pro. thanks
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy G1 housing is SEVERELY scratched and scuffed. I hate faceplates so I was thinking about changing out the housing (maybe go from an all black G1 to an "oreo (black and white)" themed G1).The thing is, I've searched all over eBay for a housing but they're ALL from either China or Hong Kong.Plus, I've heard of people messing up their screens/the cam button won't work/reception gone bad/etc.My questions are:
-Has anyone tried doing this?
-Success Stories anyone?
-Where can I find a housing set MADE in the US (or can you consider a good website)?
-Is it possible to find a colorful housing? Like back when I had a BB pearl, I changed the housing from black/silver to metallic lime green/black (courtesy of eBay )..
I've considered taking the housing off and spray-painting it, but that sounds risky to me.
I know they are iPhone lovers, maybe Steve is paying them to leave it there since they dis the Torch so much.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure how to connect my school email to my blackberry Torch. My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. It does provide instructions on how to link to the Blackberry but it doens't work for the Torch because the option doesn't exist.
(Instructions)To set up the BlackBerry's email client with Google Apps email (IMAP), just follow these steps:
On your BlackBerry device, navigate to your home screenSelect the icon that lets you set up email (this can be called Setup, Setup Wizard, Email Setup, BlackBerry Set-up, E-mail settings, or Personal Email Set-up)Follow the setup instructions provided on your device to create a new e-mail accountBe sure to enter the following:Mail Server: imap.gmail.comUsername: [your full Google Apps email address]Password: [your Google Apps password]IMAP Port: 993Allow the system to add your account, but do not enter your Google Apps password into the utility boxes (this causes the system to default to POP3 instead of IMAP)Select NextSelect Next again (bypassing the 'Additional Information Required' section)Select your account type, then select Next. You may encounter a 'We were unable to configure...' error. Select I will provide the settings to continueSelect the option that mentions 'IMAP/POP'Select I will provide the settings..., then select NextSelect Set up existing email account...Enter your Google Apps account information here, with 'imap.gmail.com' as your mail serverSelect NextSelect Save

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have a few pics I took with the Torch and I have some wallpapers that I added to the device. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? I recently swapped out to a larger memory card but I had the problem on both cards.

View 14 Replies View RelatedAnyone else having problems? When i view an email
1. images are not automatically appearing (need to click get images)
2. the HTML emails are appearing too wide. I have to scroll to the right to see the other half of the email.
As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?
