BB Curve 8520/8530 :: True Supplier Housing Help
Sep 6, 2010I am thinking about purchasing the white housing and keyboard for my 8530. This is my 4th BlackBerry, but this will be the first time I will have done any customizing to one. I've looked all over for How-To help on changing the housing on this phone, and have not had any luck. Has anyone changed the housing on their 8530? And help would be greatly appreciated.

Oct 29, 2011I have tried everything to try and resolve my issues but have not been able to do so.
First, I accidently hid a picture by checking the 'hide' field. Now how do you get it back?! I've had a couple of my friends with the same phone try and figure it out and they havent been able to.Secondly, when I choose a picture to be my wallpaper, it shows in a zoomed in version of the top left corner of the picture. I do recall when I was choosing the picture to set as my wallpaper, that I zoomed in on it before setting it, but used the 'back' key to remove the zoom feature. It appeared ok on the screen but set the wallpaper as the zoomed in picture. Now it doesn't matter which picture I choose, I get on the top left side, zoomed in showing up on my wallpaper. - even though it appears normal before setting it.

Jul 27, 2012I managed to damage the lense cover on my 9360 within days of buying it. I bought a replacement cover and successfully removed the old one. I did not get and can't find where to buy the double sided adhesive pad to stick it in place.

Apr 5, 2011whenever i charge my phone and it gets too 100 percent, in an Irish like accent, it says somthing similar to "charging complete!" and is really loud, even though i have it on silent for everything. also when my battery gets down to 30 percent, in the same accent says battery running low! ive tried turning it off and turning my phoneback on, taking the battery out, looked all over for settings, and obviously switched what volume/vibrate/silence to make sure i have it right.

Jul 11, 2012I have a BB Curve 9360 and recently the middle cursor button on it has not been working as smoothly as it once was. It takes several presses in for it to work, and I will often have to press it in quite hard. I am unsure of why this has happened, because I have not dropped the phone or let water or other substances into it. It could perhaps be dirt? I have tried several battery pulls.

Oct 20, 2010I just got a 9300 and I previously had an old 2G curve. We have an Enterprise server I believe at work. Everything transferred perfectly except one thing. When I go in messages and choose options, hide sent messages, YES and hit save........and then go back to look again, it has changed back to NO. Every time!!!! It doesn't do this for Hide Filed Messages.....just the Hide Sent Messages. It's very weird.

I hate faceplates so I was thinking about changing out the housing (maybe go from an all black G1 to an "oreo (black and white)" themed G1).The thing is, I've searched all over eBay for a housing but they're ALL from either China or Hong Kong.Plus, I've heard of people messing up their screens/the cam button won't work/reception gone bad/etc.My questions are:

-Is it possible to find a colorful housing? Like back when I had a BB pearl, I changed the housing from black/silver to metallic lime green/black (courtesy of eBay )..
I've considered taking the housing off and spray-painting it, but that sounds risky to me.

Jun 21, 2010I bought a "new" nokia 6500 from ebay and when I received it I realized that there was a space from the keypad to the housing itself. when the keypad light is on you can see light from behind the keypad, I don't think this is an authentic nokia housing. I think the ebay shop switched the housing to a fake ebay housing. Is there any other way to tell if its a fake housing?

Sep 9, 2010i was an ***** to attempt to do a housing upgrade by myself. anyway, i followed a Internet video on how to change your housing and i bought the housing off ebay so i was waiting until this week to change it got frustrated (nobody in my area has an expertise in blackberry) yes i'm quite the berry newb. so as i followed this vid: Internet - how to swap blackberry tour 9630 housing change disassembly flash and speakerphone 1 of 3. i did everything the guy said and everything was perfect. the red light came on which was a good indicator to me, but when it all finally loaded it became all screwy. my tour always has that device password lock you have to sign in before you can enter the main screen, anyway the password wouldn't go through until 3 times (i had to do it slowly) i assumed it was from the stiffness of the new keyboard/pad that wasn't all, my trackball seems like it was desensitized! i've been looking all over for info and Internet vids, but the trackball will only scroll one application over to the bottom or one to the right that's it! or if i scroll it to the right repeatedly, it will scroll downwards slowly. it won't scroll up or any other direction. even if i try to scroll in one direction it'll just keep scrolling down?also the reception bars on the top right corner of the screen is either really low (which it shouldn't because i never had an issue with the reception or trackball with the original oem housing) and theres a diagonal arrow that keeps blinking (when blackberry is trying to see can find a good reception, or that's what i presume)and the device lock keeps locking by itself. my phone like blackouts for a little bit and goes back to the device lock by itself?! i have to keep putting my password in but again the problem is either i'll get the incorrect password for a certain amount of times or just the trackball won't work . i have to press it really harder for it to "enter" on device lock.
