View 1 RepliesI just installed an update to the Music App, shows as version 3. Previously I had moved several albums to the Music folder on my wifi Xoom and could see and play these on the Xoom. After the update the Music app does not see the previous albums. I moved another wma file to the Music folder using the latest USB drivers but the App does not see it either. Other music playing apps on the Xoom see the files and can play them. What am I doing wrong? I think I have the Music beta but am not sure, can anyone tell me what the version of the Music beta is? Also, I installed the windows USB driver on all my computers. USB seems to work fine on my Win 7, WinXP and Windows Home Server computers except through USB I cannot see any media files in my Xoom folders. Also many files I have put in the download folder cannot be seen. Is this due to the .nomedia file in the folder. Can I just rename that file to see the other files there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen using the Google Music Beta, is there a more elegant solution for adjusting volume other than fumbling with the up/down volume buttons on the side? Most music players appear to have some sort of volume slider on the screen. but other than play/pause/skip virtual buttons, I see no inherent volume control on the player.

Is it possible to move photos from drop box on the Xoom without connecting to the PC?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I just got a microSD card for my Xoom and understand that I'm not able to simply move movies and music using the internal file system from the Xoom internal memory to the SD card. So fine, I'll re-copy them from my PC to the SD card. But what about when my Google Music syncs, is it going to copy the Music to SD card with the other copied music? or still in internal memory? What about camera pictures and movies? Can you set it to save on the SD card? It take it apps cannot be 'moved to media area' either?onder when Google is going to fix these restrictions to their file system. 10 months later after release of Honeycomb seems a bit long to fix a basic file system function.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat I finding is happening is that images (captured with the camera in the DCIM folder) and MP3s are being removed and placed into the LOST.DIR folder of the SD Card (internal memory isn't a problem). For example, the most recent occurrence was where by I copied on 4GB of music onto the phone and then a short time later after disconnecting the USB cable, I found that quite a number (2.7GB) of the files disappeared into the LOST.DIR folder.
I verified that the files were the orignal MP3's by changing the extension of the files to .mp3 and was able to play the file. Other times I've taken a photo with the camera and saved the JPG on the SD card, a few days later the file disappeared. The problem has occurred on Android version 2.3.5 and even now after updating to 2.3.6. I don't have any 3rd party music or photo apps. The SD Card is a 32GB Kingston class 10 card which I formatted in the phone before copying any data to it.
Google released their Chrome app for android. This app is in beta form and is limited to only ICS devices, sorry Verizon Xooms! Ive used it for about two hours and it is smooth and syncs flawlessly with Chrome. It has great features like gesture tab switching. Im going to play around with it some more and report back anything new or worrisome. Please share any tips or tricks for the community.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I just signed up for the 4g upgrade, but was curious if anyone from the beta group could comment on their experience, specifically how long it took. The reason I'm asking is because I leave for vacation on the 8th of October and will be gone for 2 weeks.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with my Xoom wifi skipping while I am multitasking. I notice it most while browsing. This is no surprise as using the browser is cpu intensive, but I have noticed it other times as well. I thought it might be the default music player, but once they fixed the Pandora force close issue on the Xoom wifi I noticed the same problem with Pandora.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have the Google Music beta on PC and the Xoom music player is syncing nicely to it.However, when playing, it will skip and sometimes stop playing altogether. I have 3.1 update, and 9.5 gb free on internal storage. It happens with on device MP3's as well. Not a wi-fi issue as it happens with wi-fi off. Any thoughts fellow Xoomers? I did search the forums already, and saw some mention of Andro Explorer causing this
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with the sd card on my Xoom wifi with Android 4.0.4. I have my music collection on an sd card which is loaded in my Xoom. Initially the music plays fine in the Google Play Music App, but after using the tablet for a day or two the music will no longer play. I get a message that the music cannot be played. This message then appears when attempting to play any music on the sd card.
I can temporarily fix the problem by erasing the Media Storage and Google Play Music data or resetting the tablet as suggested by gmanapps, but the problem repeats itself. I also tried syncing/not syncing with Google Music, disabling the Google Play Music app and using an alternate player, and formatting the sd card.
In general I have been happy with my Xoom, but this issue really concerns me. Does this point to a larger problem of stability in the Android file structure?
Is it possible to transfer purchased music to SD? I can't find it anywhere.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just received my Xoom wi-fi only and while setting it up I received the 3.1 update, which I installed. I had not added any files to my Xoom yet but while I started playing some of the music files that came with the Xoom, the player force closed while I was browsing the music files. It does not close while playing music but only while browsing the music that came with the Xoom. I then added music to the music folder from my PC and it still force closes while browsing my music files. This happends all the time after I play a few music files. I have the music player 3.0 version. A reboot does not help, it does it every time I use the player. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions are welcome. If I install another music player app. will it recognize my music already in my Xoom? And any recommendations on another player? I'm tired of the force closing of the Music player that came with the Xoom.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm using native music app on honeycomb 3.0.1. I noticed some of my albums are duplicated on the list (but not on the filesystem, I checked using a file manager). What is strange is that the first copy have some music and the second copy have the other music missing on the first copy. I checked to see if it was a problem with the ID3 tag but aparently it is not. I even used DroID3 tag editor to autoedit ALL music from a given folder but after it finishes editing tags, the album is still duplicated with exactly the same songs on each copy. DroID3 renames the files, so apparently it is not a problem with the filename.I even cleared the Music App's cache after autoediting tags but it didn't solve the problem. I also noticed any music app that uses the index to list music have the same problem, so I don't think its a problem with the native music app.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm about 2 seconds from returning my Xoom Family Edition. I am furious at the fact I can't do something as simple as play music with the screen off without hearing static and constant clicking through my headphones. Only when the screen is off, too. Is this a common problem? Even my first gen single-core droid X doesn't behave this way when I play music using the very same apps with the screen off. It handles it fine, no clicks, no pops, no static, no bullcrap. Why is my supposedly "powerful" machine
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't want to prevent xoom from going black after inactivity but I use it at my office to play music and I don't like having to unlock it each time I want to skip a song or change volume or pause it. How you deal with this screen lock and if there a music player better to deal with the lock on the xoom (I'm using the default android 3.1 player). Also not all my mp3 have good identifier so to be able to find them to play, I would like to have a folder browser list to play folders. What players you recommend for this scenario?
