I have mastered transferring files onto the Xoom BUT have a problem now as Android file transfer onlu allows me to transfer if it is less than 4GB.

Mar 2, 2012I just installed a new app I found in the latest issue of PC Magazine. It is called Software Data Cable. It provides ftp file transfer between an Android device and your PC. It works best with Filezilla Client to transfer files over your wifi network. Works excellent with my Xooom with ICS. Fast and no USB cable needed. Only negative is that it seems to only see the internal SD storage.

The first is a universal studios which I put on my computer but cannot transfer to my xoom.The second is a lions gate film digital copy which makes you go through itunes. Sep 23, 2012how to read in raw image files direct from my dslr. I have an OTG cable that is connected to the micro-usb. If i set the camera to jpeg it will launch the gallery and allow me to import these so i know the cables work, the images can be imported and stored on the xoom. Have also read variuos things that say direct raw import are not possible but am not sure if this is now out of date. I also know rawdroid works ok once i can get the files on the xoom so have my raw viewer sorted. Now, if i try and use file manager and check at the /mnt directory i can't see a way to find the sd card in the camera to try and copy them over. This was one of the key things i wanted to get working on this when i bought it.

Jun 3, 2012I have a problem with the sd card on my Xoom wifi with Android 4.0.4. I have my music collection on an sd card which is loaded in my Xoom. Initially the music plays fine in the Google Play Music App, but after using the tablet for a day or two the music will no longer play. I get a message that the music cannot be played. This message then appears when attempting to play any music on the sd card.
I can temporarily fix the problem by erasing the Media Storage and Google Play Music data or resetting the tablet as suggested by gmanapps, but the problem repeats itself. I also tried syncing/not syncing with Google Music, disabling the Google Play Music app and using an alternate player, and formatting the sd card.
In general I have been happy with my Xoom, but this issue really concerns me. Does this point to a larger problem of stability in the Android file structure?
Motorola Xoom :: Music Beta And USB Connection?
May 21, 2011I just installed an update to the Music App, shows as version 3. Previously I had moved several albums to the Music folder on my wifi Xoom and could see and play these on the Xoom. After the update the Music app does not see the previous albums. I moved another wma file to the Music folder using the latest USB drivers but the App does not see it either. Other music playing apps on the Xoom see the files and can play them. What am I doing wrong? I think I have the Music beta but am not sure, can anyone tell me what the version of the Music beta is? Also, I installed the windows USB driver on all my computers. USB seems to work fine on my Win 7, WinXP and Windows Home Server computers except through USB I cannot see any media files in my Xoom folders. Also many files I have put in the download folder cannot be seen. Is this due to the .nomedia file in the folder. Can I just rename that file to see the other files there?
