Up until yesterday, I was able to click on a link in my email and open the browswer with that link. All of a sudden, the screen dims, (with like a blueish tint) but does nothing.I have tried clearing the cache, a hard reset (volume up and on button) and even used the reset to default in the browser settings. This is both for the stock browser and Dolphin Browser HD.

Because every time I'm in Chrome and click on a YouTube link, it will play the link in Chrome itself.
As opposed to Firefox. When I click a YouTube link in Firefox, it does what I want, it opens up the YouTube app and plays the video there.
I already tried Settings>Default Applications> and cleared all that. It didn't change anything.
Unable to open any web links from an app or gmail ....started to happen a few minutes ago..these links are embedded in a email or from an app like pulse etc. I have stock broswer and dolphin HD ...and I select which one to displayed when the browser selection pop up window comes up.
Now the selection popup window does not come at all...and the screen goes about 50% dark and when touched anywhere on the screen ...it comes to normal brightness...
I'm sure this is a simple settings problem but i've been frustrated wih it for over a week and cannot find an answer anywhere. This is my second xoom - first one gmail links are clickable no problem. With the new one when i click on an embedded link in gmail, the screen dims and i go nowhere.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI used the XOOM stock browser, and went to a web site that provides a visitor to download a file from it's web page by clicking on the file's label. By doing so, there is an arrow downloading shown on my XOOM, but it failed afterward. I let it ran for a while and then it failed. I am not be able to download anything from any web sites.
Is there any way to get correct this problem? The work around that I did was to downloading the file to my PC (using Chrome browser), and then moved it to XOOM.
I upgraded from the Cliq a few months ago. So I noticed when I link contacts together that it doesn't always keep the name of the contact that I open. It'll change it. Example: I open the contact "Dad" and then link another contact for him "John Doe" and then it will change the name from Dad (which I opened first) to John Doe. Why is it doing that? It did not do that when linking contacts in my Cliq

My carrier is koodo mobile but since picture messaging works on other phones i don't believe that is the issue.

Then i tried to open a video from gallery app - same thing. The screen is dimming, but nothing else is happening. Got my first bb ever last night with the bold and I love it. But, I have a question: when browsing sites in the browser, when you hover a link aren't you supposed to be able to just push in the trackball button to 'click' the link? Its not working for me on any sites. I actually have to press the BB menu button and select "Open Link". (e.g on crackberry wallpapers, when i click on a specific genre of wallpapers like "ART", I have to select "open link" instead of just clicking the trackball). It might just be because I am not familiar with all the menu settings yet and this is a buried setting somewhere.

I was able to open an email setup confirmation from Blackberry but that is it. In addition I cannot surf the web or connect to the web. Verizon told me a defective phone but all else seems to work fine.Could it be a firmwear upgrade?
