I am unable to connect to my e-mail over the past two days. I keep getting a connection error message prompt (unable to connect to optonline.net)I tried to reboot etc but keep getting same error message.
View 2 RepliesMy Motorola xprt is less that 1 week old. At first everything worked fine. I had internet connection etc. So I connected to my home wifi and it worked fine, then my secure wifi at work. however now I cannot connect to the internet without wifi. There is no 3G signal activity. I tried to troubleshoot with a Sprint representatitve and after trying to do a profile update 3 times unsuccessfully, he recommended I take it to a shop and maybe get a new phone. Prior to that however I tried to troubleshoot from this site via a USB connection with properly installed drivers ( I think) and it was not able to detect my device. Do I have some settings wrong?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a completely stock Moto XPRT running 4.1.15.MB612. When I select to check for updates, it says 4.1.110.MB612 is available so I click to download. I'm on wifi so thankfully it's not too slow. The phone reboots, shows the Android guy doing his thing then quickly boots back in to Android before eventually popping up with the error "failed to update". So I lurked the forums and see to hold the @ symbol down when in recovery and do so, here's what pops up.

Is there a way to adjust/add to the auto-correct dictionary for the physical keyboard of the XPRT? On my SOLD BB9650, this was done the first time I picked up the phone. Now, I can't. This phone (while waiting for Gingerbread), would be THE BEST, if it could fix this little problem...

The text messaging application froze as well after I typed two words. I wasn't able to press send because the box that says that the application is not working came up. The same thing happens with the calendar application.

If I use gmail, I get notifications but I can't use the Messages Widget and the Universal Inbox (or I can't seem to set it up).
If I use email, I get notifications and I can use the Messages Widget and access to the Universal Inbox The manual appears to favor email over gmail, but its not entirely clear. The example the manual gives of sending an email is using the universal inbox.
I did set up the same account using gmail and email, and it seemed redundant. While the message app and the universal inbox worked, I would get double icon notifications. So, is there any clear choice here, on the gmail app versus the email app?
What are the plans for future software updates for XPRT?Is Gingerbread going to be the last one? Any chance for 4.x?Because, see, as of today XPRT is lagging behind for like a year on Android updates.It was released (June 6, 2011) with outdated FroYo (released May 20, 2010).Now, if stars align, we'll get GB 2.3.5 update (released July 25, 2011) hopefully in August '12.And that also means that phone that's been out only for a year is already 2 major Android versions behind current one.
View 1 Replies View Relatedthis is honestly the worst phone I have ever owned. I had a blackberry that about a month ago stopped getting about half the emails I should have gotten. After a month of talking with IT about this and trying all kinds of fixes I gave up and decided to get and android phone to bypass the blackberry servers I assumed were the culprit. Well I am going to return this phone tomorrow and use my blackberry again. Yes, after 5 days of trying ever possible setting I have given up. I had the emails working for about 5 minutes and then after setting up a gmail account they stopped. I did a reset on the phone thinking this would help. Nope. And today mysteriously my old gmail account showed up even though I never set it up. Google is evil. And this phone is a piece of crap.
One of the big problems with this phone are the additional security settings under the advanced settings for incoming and outgoing servers. Out of about 10 Motrola IT people I talked to on the phone or chatted with had no idea what these were. I kept asking if they were for SSL and no one knew. Then yesterday I was told by the only intelligent person they are an additional secruity password you can get from your ISP and are similar to SSL keys. I had them checked (the port numbers will automatically change) the first time I had the phone working. But unchecked them and was able to sent two emails to my own email address and yet received no other emails yesterday as a test. Today I tried to send myself another email and it didn't go through though it appeared on my desktop.
Having trouble connecting to my sbcglobal (managed by yahoo) email account all of a sudden.As of a few days ago, my new emails have not been appearing in my inbox even after refreshing. So I went into "my accounts" and into yahoo mail icon and deleted/reentered my password so I could connect. I kept getting error message "login to the account failed, please try again". So I then decided to completely remove the account under "my accounts" menu icon so that I can readd it. I then tried to readd it in two areas:
1. Under "email" menu icon I tried to re-setup the "yahoo mail" account- no luck, still received error message
2. Under "email" menu icon I tied to re-setup the "yahoo" account, chose already have a yahoo account, click sign in, enter my email address and password, check the "mail" and "sync" options, and then done. Nothing happens. So I go into the main menu option "my accounts"- I see my sbc account listed with the word sync under it. I go into it and it says it has been synced.Nothing has been updated. Prior to all this when I clicked the main menu "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo acct inbox pulled up automatically. Now when I click the "email" icon - I am prompted to setup an account from the services listed below: corporate sync, facebook, twitter, yahoo mail, yahoo, etc. I had my yahoo/sbc mail as my default account which is why when I previously clicked the "email" icon- my sbc/yahoo account inbox pulled up.I do not want to set up the yahoo droid application- I really want tp synch the account directly.How do I adjust the incoming/outgoing server settings on this phone. I see in other forums for similar issues that they can be adjusted. but where?

Select OK and repeat the action to try again.I may try to reinstall OS, but will wait a couple days for the "easy" answer.One complicating factor: I travel in and out of Indonesia with work and change providers every time. My gmail always seems to migrate ok, as they are registered on both. Maybe it makes a difference.

However, upon trying to re-install Nokia Messaging Email software, I can't get past the setup process, as I get an error message saying "Unable to connect to server. Try again later.", right after I choose the email service I wish to use. Shouldn't I be asked for my Nokia Email account login at this point, and not which Email service I would like to use? Is the server down or is it a problem with handset?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4S with 8 Gig memory, 1.1 Gig currently free.  I recently converted to ios 8.1.2. Subsequently, the phone has stopped working on my wireless network, neither receiving or sending email, nor connecting to the internet. The router diagram shows that I am connected via WiFi, but when I try either of these functions, I simply get into a continuous loop.Â
I have already attempted this with and without connection to the iCloud drive, rebooting everything (router, modem, iMac, iPhone). I have one other iPhone (same specs) and an iPad mini, that both work on the network. The iPhone giving me the problems works fine on the Verizon network and on other WiFi networks.Â

I can view the person who had this phones email account, but I can't set my new one up. I use the "email setup wizard" go into it, connect, and then it asks me my email address, I enter the CORRECT one and that's as far as this thing will let me go. I don't even get to the part where it asks me for a Password. after I enter my email address it tries to connect to the server (which is yahoo mail) and then I get the message "Unable to connect to server. Try again later."....And that's all it keeps doing. I have no clue how to set up an email on this phone. I use it with my WAN connection and with my providers internet and get the same message both times.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I connect my phone to a PC to import pictures, etc.. after it is properly ejected, the phone will reboot continuously. It gets to the home screen and then will shut off and turn on again. It does this at least 15-20 times before it will stay stable. Once it stays on, I then have to reset my ringtones and wallpapers. Is there a way to keep it from doing this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've suddenly started getting problems with my laptop seeing my Xoom. when I connect via the supplied usb cable my laptop makes the "bing bong" noise so I know it is aware of the Xoom but it no longer appears in the file explorer window. Also, in a different kind of problem, when I tried to pair the Xoom with my " Document to go" app it won't see the Xoom either. It bleats on about going to settings on the Xoom and checking the usb settings but there is nothing in the Xoom settings menu about usb at all.transfering files to/from the Xoom to my laptop is getting to be a right pain in the backside. Any solutions before one of these items gets thrown in the bin? I just want to transfer files, Office docs mainly, to my Xoom. How hard can it be?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a motoactv which works great, but when I try and connect it to a computer it doesn't connect properly. The initial connection via usb managed to install the USB Composite Device driver, but failed to install the Motorola Networking Interface and the Motorola ADB Interface. Nothing else happens. Whenever I connect or disconnect I do get the notification sound, but again nothing else. It does not even appear in my computer. I tried system restore to a previous point to remove the drivers and try again, but on the initial connection of the device exactly the same thing happened again. I have tried installing motocast but have had no results with that either.

I really now need it to connect to Verizon. When I take it into the store the techies are at a loss. Should I contact Motorala directly? I receive this error: Activation failed, Unable to activate mobile data service. To try activiation again touch Try again. You can activate your mobile data service later in Settings under Wireless & networks > Mobile networks.

Tried to connect to home modem (RTA1046VW) and the modem disconnected from the internet and would not connect unless I turned off the phone wifi. View 2 Replies View RelatedI used the Moto software to back up my phone yesterday, and since then it won't connect to wi-fi. It finds the signal, starts looking for an IP address, then stips the process. I've tried to turn off 3G and 4G, together and in combinations, updated PRL and profile, but to no avail. Even rebooted the router to make sure something wasn't wrong with it and other devices in the house are working just fine. Not sure if this has anything to do with the backup, but it's a problem I've never had before.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Atrix2 sometime back but just recently was looking to connect it to my PC to download some stuff onto the phone.When I connect my phone to the PC (windows 7 64 bit), the PC is not able to install the required drivers for my motorola phone. It fails with an error that says failed to install something called "ADB" drivers. The phone and car find each other, the phone asks for the PIN code and it says connected. But, when I try to connect the phone to my car, I get an error message that the car has rejected the connection.

FOR A WEEK MY PHONE WAS DOING FINE AND THEN WHEN I USE THE 3G MOBILE HOTSPOT I KEEP MY PHONE PLUGGED IN AND THE BATTERY SAYS IT IS CHARGING BUT IT IS DOING THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE AND GOING DEAD.
