Motorola Droid Razr :: Motocast Install Kills Internet Connection!
Apr 24, 2012I had to get a new DSL router with security and motocast stopped working on my desktop. It still works on my wireless laptop. I uninstalled the motocast application on the desktop and re-installed it and it fried my internet connection settings on the desktop. I can get them back using a windows restore point but each time I try to reinstall Motocast it kills my internet connection settings again. It was working great before the new modem was setup. I don't understand why installing Motocast would alter my computers internet connection?

Jul 4, 2012After updating to ics motocast wants to install on my pc and does not give me an option to say no and not have it show again, like the vista start screen. I decided to install motocast and just ignore it but when I rebooted it started my browser with a video for backup assistant after looking thru msconfig and regedit I believe this program to be malware like microsoft security 2012 or many other softwares that use extortion to sell their product. I am not questioning the validity of the backup software but rather the way it like motocast doesn't give me an option. When I called Verizon they said it was a Motorola problem so can someone please tell me how to get this MALWARE from loading! I did get the browser to stop loading after removing all of motocast via add/remove.

Jan 16, 2012I have a couple of problems with My Music. When connecting to my computer (iMac) over wi-fi or 3g I can access the files and stream without a problem but recently I decided to download an album to my phone and although it showed all 10 songs downloaded in the notifications bar, only 2 songs appeared in the app. I tried repeating the process, again it was downloading for a while and showed all as done, but nothing new appeared in the album. I checked the location of the files and they're there - really no idea what the problem could be. I rebooted the phone - nothing.
I noticed that some of the files are mp3 and some m4a but in both types there's more than 2 files so compatibility rather unlikely. The music app is incredibly slow, even when playing files from the phone, not over the internet. I posted a separate discussion on the phone being really slow in comparison with iOS5, but I notice it especially with My Music. Does anyone else have the same problem and is there a solution? Something in settings maybe? I'm new to Android so it's likely no answer will be to basic.

Aug 6, 2012Every time I connect my phone to the original USB cable the Motocast USB program starts running and then it says please wait while Motocast USB loads your content, and finally the MML has stopped working window pops up with the only option to close the program. I have uninstalled the program and re-installed a new version of it, but that doesn't seem to work. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have downloaded a patch that I replaced, even though when I tried to replace it the computer told me I required administrator authorization. However when I proceeded with this action it seems to have replaced the old one with the new one.I have no idea what to do, nor know where to find the problem in writing to post somewhere. My computer knowledge is very limited.

May 28, 2012I am using a Razr Maxx (VZW) and am having the following issue with Motocast:When I attempt to download (or "download and open") certain pdf files from my remote computer, although it says "Starting to download (file name)" on my status bar at top of screen, then says "Motocast :: Download completed" on my notification screen, the files dont appear to be anywhere on my device. They should be going to My Files> Internal Phone Storage> download> Motocast> "Computer name"> "Documents" (which is name of folder synced with motocast). The files are all on my MacBook Pro's Documents folderEverything including music, pictures and all other file types seem download to the phone perfectly. There is one folder where several pdf's in that folder, and certain subfolders only (not all subfolders) just dont download. The download status seems to appear and disappear very quickly on these files that dont work, compared with the files that do work where the download status appears quickly (not as quick) and shows the download status bar reach completion.The files download to: /mnt /sdcard /Download /motocast /computer name / folder name / file nameI have tried to remove the folder in question from motocast then re add it with no luck. There are just some pdf files (and of course the most important files to me) from one folder that wont download to the phone

Nov 18, 2011I just purchased a DROID RAZR. I have installed the desktop client on two different machines. I can view pictures and listen to music but when I try to play any video format I receive the following error:

MotoCast was not able to playback this file; it might not be in a supported format.
I tried to download several files to test them on the phone's storage, but I am also unable to download any video using MotoCast. I can download pictures and documents. I have tried doing these operations through the Gallery app, as well as just browsing using the directory structure.

Well once again this is my weekend and again I usually use Motocast on my days off and lol once again I'm having issues. Tried playing back a video file but alas stops within 30seconds. I play again and it stops within 30seconds. Or Ill start to play a file and it takes seconds upon seconds upon seconds just to play the video file.
I do enable Wifi prior to using Motocast so I wouldnt think it has to do with that; but I am pretty sure that when my graphic shortcut icon goes corrupt so does my actual application for it to work properly.
Question is, why does it keep happening? Is it because my Windows Operating System performs some sort of update and causes it go haywire?

Jun 16, 2012Starting yesterday I have seen the above message 3 times. The only thing I have changed on the phone was to enable Motocast yesterday. Also, I replaced the 16GB SD card with a 32GB SD card, early last week. I've only had the phone for about a month. I have been able to power the phone off and reboot and get the phone functioning again. Last night it took 2 reboots before the phone became functional again. What can I look for to determine whats causing the error?

Dec 8, 2011I have it set up on my PC where I have 3 folders shared. I have a Movies folder, I have a TV Shows folder, and I have a Mixsets folder. I like to listen to DJ mixsets that can be rather large, anywhere from 50MB to 150MB in size. I can access my movies/tv shows off my PC at home just fine when I'm on a wireless network. I just go into Gallery>MotoCast and there i have my TV shows in one folder and Movies in another folder. The folder I named Dj Mixsets does not show up in either Gallery or Music app.That's fine cause when I go to the Files app, I can see all three folders on my PC. From there, I can still access my TV Shows and Movies just fine. But when I try to listen to any of the mixsets, it says Cannot connect to network, please try again. This is weird cause the Droid shows my home PC as "Online". Is it because the music files are really large that it won't play? MotoCast can play larger size video files no problem.

I now have two sets of "midnight" themes on this phone, one set that looks like it did before, and one set that has a symbol at the right of the theme name that sort of looks like a coffee cup. For the themes with the "coffee cup" symbol to the right of the theme name, all the theme icons have been modified to something a bit fancier than the original. What does the "coffee cup" symbol mean? My newest N8 was recently updated to Anna. It only has the old-style themes named "midnight color-name". The icons for the themes still look like they did before the Anna update. How can I get this fancier theme icons on my other N8? If it's simply a matter of downloading the new, full and complete Nokia "midnight" themes for the N8 phone with Anna, where do I go to get them? I've searched all over, and found lots of "midnight" themes, but not the ones I'm looking for (which apparently were installed on one of my phones as part of the Anna Update.
