Motorola Droid Razr :: MotoCast Doesn't Open - No Configuration Setup
Feb 28, 2012
Using win7. Downloaded Motocast from website. When it is opened the motocast icon appears in taskbar but no program. When I open my music and try to configure set up motocast on phone it does not recognize my computer. It keeps saying that I must download motocast to computer.
Wasnt just a mere week ago, I had un installed and re installed the Motocast Software; all was fine til about a day or two ago when I noticed that my Shortcut icon of Motocast is no more; want a pic? I'll upload it in a min.
Well once again this is my weekend and again I usually use Motocast on my days off and lol once again I'm having issues. Tried playing back a video file but alas stops within 30seconds. I play again and it stops within 30seconds. Or Ill start to play a file and it takes seconds upon seconds upon seconds just to play the video file.
I do enable Wifi prior to using Motocast so I wouldnt think it has to do with that; but I am pretty sure that when my graphic shortcut icon goes corrupt so does my actual application for it to work properly.
Question is, why does it keep happening? Is it because my Windows Operating System performs some sort of update and causes it go haywire?
And my only problem so far, is my motocast says that the computer is offline. It is not, motocast is running on the computer, accounts are all synced, but i can not upload, or access the files on my computer.
Every time I connect my phone to the original USB cable the Motocast USB program starts running and then it says please wait while Motocast USB loads your content, and finally the MML has stopped working window pops up with the only option to close the program. I have uninstalled the program and re-installed a new version of it, but that doesn't seem to work. I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have downloaded a patch that I replaced, even though when I tried to replace it the computer told me I required administrator authorization. However when I proceeded with this action it seems to have replaced the old one with the new one.I have no idea what to do, nor know where to find the problem in writing to post somewhere. My computer knowledge is very limited.
I just purchased a DROID RAZR. I have installed the desktop client on two different machines. I can view pictures and listen to music but when I try to play any video format I receive the following error:
Error during video playback
MotoCast was not able to playback this file; it might not be in a supported format.
I tried to download several files to test them on the phone's storage, but I am also unable to download any video using MotoCast. I can download pictures and documents. I have tried doing these operations through the Gallery app, as well as just browsing using the directory structure.
I had to get a new DSL router with security and motocast stopped working on my desktop. It still works on my wireless laptop. I uninstalled the motocast application on the desktop and re-installed it and it fried my internet connection settings on the desktop. I can get them back using a windows restore point but each time I try to reinstall Motocast it kills my internet connection settings again. It was working great before the new modem was setup. I don't understand why installing Motocast would alter my computers internet connection?
I was looking through the Play Store and noticed something odd - it's showing me that MotoCast is "unsupported" for my Droid Razr Maxx running ICS 4.0.4 even though I have the app on my phone already and it is CLEARLY working fine.
It looks like when I logged on using my motocast id, I lost all of my old settings and statistics. I had to resign up for everything including giving my meid number again. I lost my 5 posts, 69 comments and 2way pager stats. Did I do something wrong when I logged on using the motocast id and password or did everyone lose their old stats after the new logon id?
Starting yesterday I have seen the above message 3 times. The only thing I have changed on the phone was to enable Motocast yesterday. Also, I replaced the 16GB SD card with a 32GB SD card, early last week. I've only had the phone for about a month. I have been able to power the phone off and reboot and get the phone functioning again. Last night it took 2 reboots before the phone became functional again. What can I look for to determine whats causing the error?
I have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect. It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.
I am a new owner of a Motorola Droid Maxx. I am wondering which service for email to use, POP or IMAP. It is set up now as an IMAP but I seem to get emails 30min or more after I receive them on my laptop wich has windows live on it set as POP3. My old droid incredible was set up as POP I also use charter email wich always seems to give people issues..I am wondering wich to use to get emails both on my phone and laptop the best. I also use Exchange sync for work and that works flawlessly. The rest of the phone is great.
I used the email app to setup my AOL email. I have noticed that when I delete email on my computer (AOL account) that those deletions are not appearing on my Razr. I used an OG Droid before the Razr and never had this issue- they are deleted on the Droid when the account syncs.
Has anyone setup remote storage under the files app? I have tried to get it set up to work with my network storage. Does anyone have any details on how they set it up?
Is there a way to force manual corporate sync setup? Our corporate email settings (for phones) have just changed and they recommended (requested) I delete the prior corporate sync and re-input all settings.Foolishly, I followed this advice...Now, repeated (dozens!) auto-discover attempts have failed and no manual input option is being offered.
Just activated a RAZR for a user and need to get Corporate Sync working on the phone. We use BPOS, hosted Exchange from Microsoft. For the life of me I can't get it work no matter what I do. I keep getting unable to connect to server. can get the same account to connect on my XOOM and non Motorola phones
I downloaded Motocast to my new RAZR. However, all of my document files have a question mark in front of them and I cannot open them on my phone. Is there something more that I need to do in order to open my documents?
The stock camera app on my Droid Razr Maxx will no longer open. I have had ICS for several weeks without issue. It was yesterday that the camera stopped working.
I select the camera icon and the screen blanks like it is going to open, but it does not. I come back to the original screen where the camera icon is located.
I have cleared the cache. I have performed a full factory reset. Still no camera. I also tried downloading a third party camera app, and it will not open, due to a camera error. Don't remember the exact words in the error message.
Bottom line, the camera no longer works. I still have my photos, and I can view them using my gallery.
When I download photographs to my PC from the Droid Razr and attempt to open them I receive an "invalid image" notice. I have tried Picasa, Windows Media Manager and Adobe Acrobat, all unsuccessfully. The three programs open other .jpg photos successfully. I can successfully email the pictures from the Razr and then open but cannot open after a USB cable download. A downloaded photo file which I cannot open is attached.
A family member has a new Motorola Droid Razr, and we are trying to get MotoCast USB to work. We have installed the software on the computer (a Macbook Pro) and skipped the wireless setup (because we are only interested in USB syncing at this time). But when we connect the phone, all we get is a message, "Please wait while MotoCast USB loads your content."
I can get my calendar to open with a voice command. But is there a way (or an app) to actually get it to make an appointment (such as: Meet John on Decemebver 29th at 10am) with just voice commands.
Install Motocast from web to computer went through steps on Razr to "Done installing on computer " click that and keep getting Motocast setup incomplete?
whenever I open Chrome on my phone and choose bookmarks, by default it brings me to the Verizon Bookmarks (which it won't even let me delete). Is there anyway I can get the phone to open to my bookmarks by default instead of Verizon's? Extra points if someone can tell me how to delete Verizon's bookmarks permanently.
Had to get a replacement phone (dropped it screen cracked) replaced the sim card from the first phone and the SD card everything came back including my downloaded apps but if you go into settings/storage/SD card it shows unavailable and in the ongoing at the top of the home screen it shows preparing SD card but it's been running forever it knows it is there and I've looked at it on my computer the files are there, any thoughts?
I have noticed that when my Droid Razr is off and I plug in my charger the status led blinks once and the charging screen starts up and charging begins - as expected. However sometimes when I plug in the charger the status led blinks once but then the charging screen does not start and charging does not start - I have noticed that if I then press the power on button the charging screen starts up and charging commences. Is this normal?
I've been using the phone for about two weeks now. In this time I've gotten a few text messages to the affect of, "I just called, why didn't you answer?" or when I call someone, they comment on how long it took for me to return their call. Piecing the feedback together, it seems that the phone doesn't always receive the call and ring. The person who is placing the call hears a dial tone, etc... and has no indication the call isn't ringing on my end. One time this occured, a voice mail was left and I received the voice mail right away. However, if no voicemail is left, I get no indication a call should have been received (no missed calls). The frequency of occurance is fairly hit and miss, besides, you can't prove someone didn't just call you .
I've experienced this on some other verizon phones of multiple brands (before smart phone times), and tend to think it has something to do with the software interactions between the carrier and platform, or perhaps the quality of antenna and how the software handles marginal signal. In the past, the only remedy I found was to change phones, but software pushes weren't as prevalent in those times.... Note, I've been a verizon customer since the dawn of time, so the carrier is a constant variable here. This phone was an upgrade from the Motorola Droid 1, and I didn't experience this problem (in the same locations) with this phone. For what it's worth, around town and at home I have a full 5 bars of signal strength, though I understand the bars are just a function of software.
I have also experienced some data drop out issues on 3G (patiently waiting for verizon to flip the LTE switch on) when heavily managing the wi-fi radio via the smart actions. There seem to be a few other complaints on the forums of similiar behavior. Changing the smart actions to have the wifi radio enabled most of the time seems to have helped with this issue, so I don't beleive it is related, but you never know..
