I have auto-rotate checked in the display settings. When I slide out the keyboard or plug into the HD Dock the screen auto-rotates to landscape. This makes sense. However, at all other times the screen is locked in portrait. How do I enable auto rotate of the main/home screen without having to slide the keyboard out?
View 10 RepliesI noticed that then I use my Photon as a mass storage device to access the storage card I loose shortcuts on my screams. Sometimes my applications also gray out in my apps manager. A power cycle of my phone brings my applications back but the short cuts are still gone. I noticed the apps that disappear are ones that are stored on my SD card. It appears that going to mass storage mode disconnects the card from the phone disabling the apps and canceling the shortcuts. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening? I may want to move apps to my phone memory that I do not want to disappear all the time whew using mass storage mode. I never had this problem with my EVO and used mass storage often.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOccurred 3rd time in last 2 months(well spread incidents) - Photon just starts rebooting continously on its own (shuts down - loads back to the startup screens - connects to sprint - shuts down again..... loop continues non stop). During the restarts if it is un-noticed for a while the phone gets very hot. The only way to stop is to pull the battery out, after which it starts fine.Not sure what the issue is. Any thoughts? Would not prefer to do a factory reset as there is no observed pattern, all three incidents were when phone was not being used and was in the pocket. No extra apps are running generally whenever I check through the task manager - I cannot check while the phone is rebooting though.

Settings/display/Auto-rotate screen IS CHECKEDBionic will auto-rotate screen when docked in standard dock or car dock. It will also auto rotate screen when in an app. But it won't auto-rotate screeen when in any of the 5 home screens

My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI powered off my Photon trying to get it to charge faster, it had gone from 8% to 14% in 90 minutes while plugged in USB to my PC. It automatically reboots after it shuts down. Out of curiosity, I unplugged it and powered down. It stayed down. As soon as I plugged it into the USB of my PC it powered up all by itself. Kind of surprised at this behavior. I know darn well I have had it off and it stayed off when plugged into a wall outlet. I can't wait for this new battery to come from Motorola.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI purchased my Photon at the end of September, and for the most part it has been the greatest phone I have ever used. That is, until my camera stopped working correctly! I launch the camera app, and the screen switches to landscape and the camera initializes, but it will not focus!! I have to tap the screen very hard and rapidly for it to force focus, and any situation other than bright daylight will not focus at all. The phone does not even make that little clicking noise that I think it made when going into camera mode, which I believe meant that the shutter is activating (right??).
This happened once before to me, and I took the phone to a Sprint store. The rep simply toggled the image resolution from 3mp to 5mp and back, and it worked. I then left the store feeling like a dope.....until the next week when it started happening again. Now, I've tried everything to get the camera to work again, but nothing.
I have been using the Photon for months but can not seem to find the area that manages when the Photon goes into silent mode.I thought it was in the custom battery mode. I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. I get fustrated and set it to ring when I first use the phone in the morning.Is there some file that I need to edit to get my time window in? This is driving me a bit nuts, lol.
I've seen a couple comments here and there re: the Phonton keyboard being "difficult", and I think those comments are completely warranted when you consider the settings Motorola / Sprint use as the phone ships. They ship it with Auto correct OFF! I came to this phone after 4+ years of blackberrying. I knew the soft keyboard was going to be an adjustment, but with the Photon it was REALLY bad out of the gate. I'd type something, see that I miss-typed it, then I'd have to select the correct word out of the list above the keyboard (assuming it had some idea of what I was after). Very tedious... So I went poking around in the settings and saw they had a auto-correct setting and it was turned OFF!

I've tried in the browser and also opera.I've gone to Settings->Display and auto-rotate is ticked. I did a G-Sensor calibration and that didn't help either.Is it possible that the accelerometer is broken? How can I test it to see if it's working?I also tried to play Replica Island using the accelerometer and the robot won't move no matter which way I tilt the phone.
