I set up my gmail and calendar and they synced properly, but after that I had to go in to profiles and the goggle profile and push a sync to get them to update. I can't find a place in the menu to change the auto-sync settings.
View 9 RepliesMy Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got my new Xperia Z3 D6603 Yesterday. Everything is fine. Except my Gmail and Google Calander do not auto sync.
- I already deleted updates for Gmail and reilstalled through Google Play store. Didn't work.
- I deleted my Google account and reinstalled. Didn't work.
- In settings > accounts > Google > Synchronize, gmail and calender are set to automatic.
- I also have all the newest Google and Sony updates installed on my phone.
Altogether it seems like there is something going on with my Google Sync, but I cant find out what is it.
For some reason my Gmail auto sync keeps turning off.

I have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.

so I've got the google calendar sync set up on the x10 and gotten it verified by the gmail mobile set up.. and the syncing works both ways for future events.. for some reason no past events on the gmail calendar syncs with the x10 calendar..although any events set up in the past on the x10 calendar updates the gmail calendar fine.. does anyone know if this is a "feature" or do I have to set up some personal settings differently? although for the life of me I can't find any settings on the x10 calendar that specifies the length of time the sync should work for!I know this is not a huge issue but I have had to restore from backups cos of various problems with my x10, so everytime I'm having to manually create the past calendar entries (which I use as tracking meaures for various projects I'm working on) on the phone by looking @ the gmail calendar.

I used to use google synch, but this no longer works & they have stopped supporting it for blackberry, so no help there. Reading through many forums I saw that I could use BIS to do this. View 5 Replies View RelatedI powered off my Photon trying to get it to charge faster, it had gone from 8% to 14% in 90 minutes while plugged in USB to my PC. It automatically reboots after it shuts down. Out of curiosity, I unplugged it and powered down. It stayed down. As soon as I plugged it into the USB of my PC it powered up all by itself. Kind of surprised at this behavior. I know darn well I have had it off and it stayed off when plugged into a wall outlet. I can't wait for this new battery to come from Motorola.
View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since I activated BES (so that I could sync email/calendar with my company's MS Exchange server), I have been experiencing a couple of email-related issues that I did not have previously:
1)When composing a new email or trying to add another contact to an existing email, when I type in the name of the person, the email address auto-complete function does not work. It does work when I am sending SMS, MMS, and searching through my Phone Book, but does not work in email for some reason. Even if I manually type in the correct email address, I do not have a option for the email. I can only reply to email or go through the Phone Book and selection the phonebook entry. I have done the phone book quickfix several times without any success.
2)My calendar events are not showing up in my BES email folder both sent or received calendar notices do not show up for some reason. I have re-sent the Service Books from BES a couple of times to no avail.
When I started my phone for the first time, it automatically synched my GMail contacts, which I really don't want on the phone. On other Android phones, there was a way to clear the data in Contacts Storage when you went into the app through the app menu. That option is "greyed out" on the Photon, so I can't just erase all the contacts and let my Outlook contacts automatically repopulate.Is there another way to clear Contacts Storage without doing a reset? I"m sure I could get rid of them by starting over, but they I lose all the customization I've already done.

I was using gmail directly to sync mail and calendar but this didn't (or at least I could find a way to) sync my gmail contacts to my phone contacts so i decided to use Exchange. I deleted my gmail account from my phone and added the Exchange account, following all the instructions on many websites like this one [url]. I selected 'ON' for mail, contacts and calendars. When I refresh contacts and calendar on iphone nothing happens. When I go in mail and refresh that it comes up with 'Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.'. I deleted the account and reset up in case i messed anything up but it's still not working.

I purchased my Photon at the end of September, and for the most part it has been the greatest phone I have ever used. That is, until my camera stopped working correctly! I launch the camera app, and the screen switches to landscape and the camera initializes, but it will not focus!! I have to tap the screen very hard and rapidly for it to force focus, and any situation other than bright daylight will not focus at all. The phone does not even make that little clicking noise that I think it made when going into camera mode, which I believe meant that the shutter is activating (right??).
This happened once before to me, and I took the phone to a Sprint store. The rep simply toggled the image resolution from 3mp to 5mp and back, and it worked. I then left the store feeling like a dope.....until the next week when it started happening again. Now, I've tried everything to get the camera to work again, but nothing.
I have auto-rotate checked in the display settings. When I slide out the keyboard or plug into the HD Dock the screen auto-rotates to landscape. This makes sense. However, at all other times the screen is locked in portrait. How do I enable auto rotate of the main/home screen without having to slide the keyboard out?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been using the Photon for months but can not seem to find the area that manages when the Photon goes into silent mode.I thought it was in the custom battery mode. I set it to Custom battery saver, set the Off-peak hours to start at 10pm and end at 5 am.My alarm goes off at 5:30 am but it never rings, even though I have it set in the alarm setting to do so.
I have noticed that the phone automatically changes to silent mode around 9pm and will not auto switch back until 8 or 9am. I get fustrated and set it to ring when I first use the phone in the morning.Is there some file that I need to edit to get my time window in? This is driving me a bit nuts, lol.
I've seen a couple comments here and there re: the Phonton keyboard being "difficult", and I think those comments are completely warranted when you consider the settings Motorola / Sprint use as the phone ships. They ship it with Auto correct OFF! I came to this phone after 4+ years of blackberrying. I knew the soft keyboard was going to be an adjustment, but with the Photon it was REALLY bad out of the gate. I'd type something, see that I miss-typed it, then I'd have to select the correct word out of the list above the keyboard (assuming it had some idea of what I was after). Very tedious... So I went poking around in the settings and saw they had a auto-correct setting and it was turned OFF!
