Apr 4, 2012Have not been receiving updates because of this message. Yet I have 13GB available on my SD card and 7GB available internally.

Motorola Photon 4G :: Photon In Car Dock - Not Receiving Calls?
Oct 28, 2011Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

Jun 5, 2014I have an iphone 4 which I have always synced with my computer without problems. I bought a new computer, transferred my music library which I can play fine on my computer but when I want to sync my iphone to this new library, i keep getting the message that there is not enough space on the iphone to sync. I added a few albums to my new library and that's why I want to sync between the computer itunes and my iphone to get them on my phone. The info on Itunes says I have 2.39 GB free, yet it won't sync. I even unchecked everything on the music sync page of itunes and created a playlist of all my songs (1789 of them) and tried to manually sync with just that playlist. It still won't work. I do not know what else to do and have already spent hours and hours fussing with this. I don't want to use Match on my phone because when I travel, I don't always have wifi or data to access from the cloud.Â

Motorola Droid :: Email Storage Space Out Of Control?
Oct 31, 2011I have very few apps downloaded to my phone, but I am continually running into problems concerning a lack of available space. When I look at the amount of space each application is taking up, none of the apps is using more than about 7 MB except for email, which is using a whopping 191 MB. I only have 11 emails in my inbox.

Jan 19, 2012Many of my apps are no longer functioning propery (even email) because the internal storage has filled up. All 8.9 gbs of it. I have an SD Card (32 gb) and it has over 29 gb of available space. I have the media set to save to the sdcard so my pics/movies are there. I have 1.9 gbs of space (out of the 2.9 gb) for apps left so I have plenty of room there. How and what do I move to the SDCARD and how do I make sure this data is saved to the sdcard from now on? When I go to manage the apps I can;t find anything. I can manually move files but what can/should I move and how do I get the apps (etc) to save to the sdcard only?

Apr 19, 2012Why does the "Updates Available" icon in the alert notification bar disappear if it isn't selected immediately? And once it's gone, how can I get it back? (This applies to all types of updates: Android system, service provider's software, and installed apps). The Android User Manual seems to address only relatively simple update-related questions, and I'm not sure whether this notification behavior is a general Android system characteristic, or just unique to Motorola phones, or only to the Photon.
Often, it's not practical or convenient to drop everything else and install updates immediately when the notification appears, e.g., if you're on a phone call, in the middle of writing a somewhat urgent text or email, changing the baby's diaper, etc. The user might especially want to wait until later to download and install updates that are quite large and time-consuming and those labeled "manual," which seem to require monitoring individually in order to accept terms of service, etc., vs. just being able to select "install all."because some of the updates are large and time-consuming, I'd like to be able to turn on 4G or wireless, if they're not already on. (And they usually aren't, to conserve battery power, as recommended by "Remy" in his excellent post on "Android Tips & Tricks.") But at least on the Photon, turning on 4G or Wireless often causes the update icon to disappear, and there doesn't appear to be any way to get it back.
True, the "My Apps" section of the Android Store supposedly tells you which apps have available updates, but it's much more time-consuming to have to connect to the store and check manually instead of just selecting the icon in your notification bar. Also, the App Store won't have info about system updates.BTW, even when you select "install all," you still need to monitor the installation closely. When the update process finishes, you usually get some notification, like "Updates successfully installed." But if your screen has timed out and is off when the update process finishes, you don't get any information about the updates, so you don't know whether they all installed successfully. (Maybe if your screen is off, you only get a notification when an update isn't successful -- but there's no way of knowing that until it happens!)
Motorola Photon 4G :: Accidental Internal Storage Format
Jul 17, 2012I replaced my phones SD card. I thought I still had to format the new card, so went to Menu-Settings-Storage. This is where I screwed up. Instead of selecting the SD card for formatting, I clicked on Internal Storage. A check of the old SD card made me realize many of my photos & videos were wiped.
I've tried Recuva and Stellar Phoenix recovery programs to no avail.
I just didn't realize everything was going to internal storage. Is data recovery a lost cause?
Motorola Photon 4G :: Multimedia Dock As Mass Storage To PC?
Sep 27, 2011So I just HAD to have the multimedia dock for my Photon 4G. It's wonderful, and more convenient than fishing for cables when I need to charge the battery.
It doesn't seem to recognize that I have plugged a USB cable from the dock to my PC? What I wanted to do, was use it in the USB Mass Storage mode just like I do with a cable--nice fast file transfers, using the file explorer on my PC...
Motorola Photon Q 4G :: Change Default Storage Location?
Sep 5, 2012The phone defaults to store everything on the internal storage instead of the SD card. I called Sprint, but they did not know a way. I cannot directly access the internal memory through the USB. Is there a way to make it store everything on the SD card?For instance I shoot video and it all goes into the internal memory. The only way I can get it onto my computer is to first move it to the SD card, then I can move it to my PC.

Nov 28, 2011Before disconnecting my Photon from my Windows 7 computer I always eject the media prior to disconnecting the cable. I have a microSD card installed in my photon, so when I connect to the computer, two drives appear. It used to be when I clicked on the icon to eject the drives, the two drives displayed under MB855 and I could click on MB855 and eject both drives at once. I noticed recently that this is no longer the case. MB855 is greyed out and each drive must be ejected individually. At first I thought this was due to a change on my computer, but when I connected the phone to my other Windows 7 I saw the exact same behavior. When I connect my external WD HD, which has multiple partitions, to my computer it allows both partitions to be ejected at the same time, so now I'm thinking this change of behavior might be do to the recent Photon update. How to change this behavior so that both drives can once again be ejected at the same time?

Oct 20, 2011Its been a whole day not sure whats goin on i didnt acually realize it was happening untill a friend came over.I was sending texts out to family and friends but never getting any back which i though was weird but didn't think much of it maybe everone i sent one to was busy...unlikely.So my buddy came by and said he has been texting me back all day several times and i never awnsered just kept sayin whats up or you gettin my text lol.
I thought trying to update might solve the problem so i went to update my profile and prl and as soon as i hit update profile they all started coming in at once had tons of them. but now they dont come when people send them they all come together 15 or 20 minutes after they have wrote me back whats the deal.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Not Receiving Call Dialing?
Jan 27, 2012I have had my Photon about 6 weeks and have been having issues where people can not call me they get message that phone is not available. Also when I am having those issues the phone will not dial anybody just stays on dialing screen and does not call. Also texts do not come through during that time.If I reboot then I can dial and receive calls for a half day or sometimes a whole day.My phone does get the random reboots started on day one and usually once or twice a day but NEVER has happened while I was actively using it.I have done factory reset. Pulled battery and replaced.
My phone was updated with the latest firware on the day I got it and I check for updates regularlyI do have an SD card in it that was new never in another phone that was formatted by this phone. I have tried using it without card and with card makes no difference.I have started rebooting every morning but I still miss calls.At first I had Google Voice on it, I thought that might be the problem I unloaded it unlinked my google voice account and then did factory reset but that has not helped.I do not tether or use the hotspot feature. I do connect using Wifi when I am at home for internet access.About the only thing I can tell is that it seems to lose phone access after a good amount of web surfing whether it is wifi or 3g. Aug 22, 2011my wife and i got Photons last wednesday night. we really love the phone but for some reason im not getting most of her text messages and shes not getting my sent text messages. her phone appears to not have this problem. we got our phones at radioshack an d we have 30 days to return them or trade them in. im just not sure what to do. i have my phone set up with all my apps

Sep 16, 2011I got the Photon because of the raving reviews of signal strength. I'm finding that the signal is weaker and tends to roam more than my Palm pre. Is this normal for a PHOTON? I would rarely roam at work before but find the photon signal roams alot. Is there a setting or something I can do? Maybe a bad phone? My home signal also tends to wildely fluctuate between one bar and five bars.

Sep 3, 2011Since I purchased my Photon a couple weeks ago, I have had this issue. Whenever someone sends me a text message including a photo, I receive a text from '9000' indicating that the person (phone number only-no name) has sent me a picture message, and prompts me to click on the Sprint picture mail website link to view the photo. Once I click the link, and the site finally opens, the picture is visible. Because the text is sent from 9000, I can't reply to the sender of the message by hitting 'reply,' because I would be replying to 9000. I called Sprint about this MMS issue, and they told me it's because this is a GSM phone. I'm hoping there is some setting or configuration that needs to be adjusted to allow my incoming picture messages to appear properly

Oct 25, 2011Since I have updated to the new version, I have noticed that the market will show that I have updates available for some applications/games that I have already updated. When I select that app/game, it does not give me the option to update, only "open" or "uninstall". This is not crucial but pretty annoying considering I like to keep everything on my device (including apps/games) updated to the most current version.

Mar 16, 2015[Lollipop] Under settings/Apps there is a list of apps together with the number of megabytes it ostensibly uses. I can click on that and see those megabytes divided into App and Date use.
But... Today I uninstalled "Real racing 3", which claimed to use up 84MB (app+data). Immediately after that, the amount of free storage climbed with a whooping 1.14GB ! (and total "App" usage decreased by the same amount).
Is there a more reliable way to find out how much space an app is using?

Jun 29, 2012I have a 16GB iphone but am an avid music lover. I own tons of music. I have iMatch and iCloud. As of right now my phone says I only use about half of the storage space on it in audio. Very litle is used for apps or pictures. I have another half of the storage space in a category called "Other". What is in that category? I would really like to add more music however my storage keeps stating I am almost full and need to manage. I would delete things if I thought it would make more room but it seems to take very little room off when I remove apps and pictures and does not really affect the other category.

App will transfer fine via Sony's 'Transfer Data to SD Card', but sadly it Transfers 'all moveable Apps' rather than giving you the ability to choose specific apps.. So that method is a huge ball ache!!! Oh and can you give us the option to remove the 'you have 25% of storage left' nag.. its a proper pain in the backside, given there is usually at this point plenty of storage left...Â

I have quite a few Humble Bundle APK's, that are quite big, and are unable to be moved to external because of this issue.. For the record it also does this for Play Store APK's.. I will give JetPack Joyride/ Minion rush as an example...

May 18, 2015"Unable to move app. Not enough storage space." Galaxy S5 w/ 5.0 on Verizon.I'm sure there are 1000 threads on this somewhere but I'm not finding them specific to my phone. I've just done factory reset, formatted the external 32 gig SD card, re-installed just a couple apps and STILL get the same error message. The phone storage has over 9 gigs available and the external card is empty.
