Motorola Motonav :: Battery Runs Down When Plugged In?
Jun 16, 2011
I've experienced my TN765 shutting itself down because of lower battery power, even when it's plugged in via USB to a car charger.I realise that the battery will only charge if the device is turned off, that is fine, but it seems that it loses battery power even if it's powered. It's a very slow loss of charge, but on a long trip it can lose it all and shut down unexpectedly. And it isn't the charger working loose because the 'external power' icon is always displayed. It's a Motorola cigarette lighter plug charger. Is that normal and does it do this with the official mount or just on the USB?
on my second blackberry bold 9900 it drains the battery in a day or less have changed out the battery once before the battery runs very hot according to the installed software , dont have anything running in the background does anyone have a similar problem? also it wont hold the bluetooth pair with my Kia forte
Ok, so just checking if there is any explanation other than a hardware problem here. I received my second refurb today after my first one arrived with obvious hardware problems and I had to send it back. Twice so far, while plugged in to the AC wall charger, my battery has started discharging. This is with the Motorola wall charger and Motorola extended battery. One time I was using the phone when this happened and the other I was not - it was just sitting there with nothing happening on it but with the screen on and plugged in.
This has never happened before, so if it is a hardware problem, it would be much more likely the "new" phone rather than the battery. I don't want to go through the replacement process a third time and lose even more time without a functioning phone if this could potentially be caused by something else. They said they will not send me a new (non-refurb) phone, no matter how many problems I have and no matter how many broken "certified like new" phones they send me. Doing a search on this, all I found were posts about car chargers not providing enough power with Navigator in use, which does not apply to my case. I really want this not to be a hardware problem with the phone since they will just send me yet another untested, broken refurb, so I'm just grasping for straws I guess despite the obvious.
My Motorola Charm's battery life went all the way to 0% because I couldn't get to my charger in time, but now everytime I try plugging it into the charger, it won't charge up. I even tried charging it for 2 days, and still the screen says 0%, and the phone won't turn on no matter what.
I use BB Torch, have observed with dismay how the phone gets hot & battery runs low in 2-3 hours. This is getting fraustrated & hope some one in house has way out.Could it be my battery?
I've had the curve model 8530 for about 14 months. I charge it at night and un plug it and go to work in the morning. It stays charged throughout the day and only would run down - about 30% - 50% if I am talking on the phone while taking the train home (about 40 minutes). Since yesterday, it totally ran all the way down before 2 Pm without any unusual usage - just checking some emails occasionally. It was charged fully this morning and I took the charger to work with me and had to recharge it twice already. How do I find out if the battery is bad?
i find myself having to charge my phone at least once a day, its an xperia ray (st18i) how can i make my battery last longer? i've tried various apps to try and increase my battery life but none have been as effective as id like and i still have to charge frequently.
Yesterday i bought Xperia Z5 dual, i like it, it is a fantastic phone, i liked every thing in it but i have one problem, THE BATTERY. the Battery runs out quickly. when i use snapchat in 5 minutes the battery lose at least 3% also in youtube and games. Wi-FI scaninig, location, NFC, bluetooth are off, the brghtness is under 40%. i don't know why, is it from my phone or is it a mistake from the company.
Just got my new phone, less than a week. Last night I forgot to plug in to charge and the battery died at 2:53 AM... (Still showing on the edge of the screen). Plugged it in for more than 2 hours now it doesn't respond to anything. Hold the power button and so on... Nothing.
I have an E52 and I can't turn off the WLAN. I set everything to off but still when turn on my home access point it connects to it almost instantly and the battery runs off easilly. WLAN scan is set to off, show wlan availability is set to never, and when it sees networks around it shows the two parentheses around the antenna in the main screen (( I )), and when it sees my access point it connects.
After update to ver 50 my 5800 battery runs down in a few hours, even if I make no calls, it also has become very unresponsive, hard to scroll, it was fine until update, I tried my spare new battery and it is exactly the same, no apps are running, wifi is off, and it gets hot occasionaly.
I have a BB Torch, which I bought new about a month ago. It works fine except that the battery has now started running out quickly (after about 16hrs from a full charge) , even when the phone is switched off overnight.
I have removed two new apps that I thought might be the problem (Add Contact and Data monitor app), but it has not really made any difference. I have since followed the advice on this Forum to dim the screen and reduce the timeout.
my Pearl 9105 runs out of battery so it goes into sleep mode, I tried to recharge it but it just wont wake up again. I tried removing the battery and SIM card
I've been having a problem the last few days. My GPS icon stays on continuously and ***** the battery dry. I've seen issues where it will stay on for 12 hours. Even though I thought that was abnormal, it would eventually turn off and resume normal function.
Now it is just running non-stop and the only way for me to stop it is to manually turn off the GPS.
My blackberry battery runs-down faster, I used a fully charged battery for just 15mins. I don't know whats wrong. My blackberry is Storm 1. I have just replaced the battery with new one, but its still doing the same thing.
I got a Nokia Lumia 1520 last week. Coming from an HTC One (M7), I am still impressed with the smoothness of Windows Phone OS -rarely I get any loading for an app. Moreover Metro has come a long way since the days of ZuneHD.
However I got a slight problem with the date/ time. Both the date and time gets reset back to 20 July 2013, 03:00 after the battery runs out or I try a soft reset.I already tried:
1) Setting the time on manual; it will reset back to manual time and the date/time above. 2) Setting the time on automatic, will still get reset back to manual and the wrong date/time. 3) Instead of setting the phone on 4G, I used the 3G and automatic. Same as above. 4) Setting the date manually and then to automatic, keeps the date/time I setup manually. 5) Turning the device off and on again (not soft reset with the volume key) will keep the date/ time regardless if it was set manually or manually and then automatically.
i just purchased a motonav tn765 today. i plugged it in to charge and it seems to indicate that it is charging (the power led turns yellow). after 2 hours of charging (yellow light) i removed the cord and the led turned red. activating the power switch does nothing. reseting the unit does nothing. i purchased this device at a local walmart as a clearance item. they don't have any more in stock and usually clearance items are not returnable. i called support and their only suggestion was to return it to the store. does anyone here have any ideas of how to get this device to turn on?
Things are comatose around here now but I have a problem; my TN700 doesn't stop navigating when I reach a destination; it keeps giving directions. It won't accept a manual cancellation command either. Haven't tried to reset because I don't want to have to re-enter everything. Haven't logged onto the Motonav Tool page in years.
As I said in another post, I just bough a MotoNav N565T. My GPS had died and I found this one on clearance for an absurdly low price.I like manuals. I'm one of three guys in the country that actually read the manual for anything. However, the manual for this device sucks. Half of it is dedicated to using the phone. Are there any good instructions for this device available or am I expected to just blunder my way around until I figure everythign out?
