Jan 4, 2010My bold 9700 battery runs out in 12 hours or so. The signal in the area (Orange Switzerland) is weak and there is no difference if the phone is on 2G or on 2G & 3G mode. Used phone in roaming without data and battery was good for week or even more with not many phone calls. Is this normal and any advice on how to preserve the battery? I also have problems with Facebook installation. When I try to sign in, I am getting a message that data conenction is not available and that i should try later. I tried many many times and while everything else works well, Facebook does not. Downloaded it twice directly from Balckberry and reinstalled it but without luck.

I bought a new battery since the old one was getting old, so I figured that was the reason it was draining over the course of the day (7am - about 10pm) , but it happened again on day 2 after a full charge (uninterrupted for about 8 hours) and it didn't even make it 11 hours.The phone is on all the time. I get updates from Facebook and email. 1-3 calls a day. I mainly text, but not more than about 30/day. I browse for about 30 min a day. I put it on the cradle to recharge overnight.

Aug 18, 2012My phone over heats and drains the battery in less than 3 hours when i'm in a wi-fi hotspot. Even if the wi-fi is turned off. This is also happening even when the phone is turned off - the phone still gets very hot! The battery has to be removed before the phone will cool down.The phone works fine any other time and usually only needs to be charged every few days, but as soon as i'm in a 'hotspot' zone I've had to charge the phone 2 to 3 times a day!

Jun 16, 2011I've experienced my TN765 shutting itself down because of lower battery power, even when it's plugged in via USB to a car charger.I realise that the battery will only charge if the device is turned off, that is fine, but it seems that it loses battery power even if it's powered.It's a very slow loss of charge, but on a long trip it can lose it all and shut down unexpectedly.And it isn't the charger working loose because the 'external power' icon is always displayed. It's a Motorola cigarette lighter plug charger.Is that normal and does it do this with the official mount or just on the USB?

Feb 12, 2012I've been having a problem the last few days. My GPS icon stays on continuously and ***** the battery dry. I've seen issues where it will stay on for 12 hours. Even though I thought that was abnormal, it would eventually turn off and resume normal function.
Now it is just running non-stop and the only way for me to stop it is to manually turn off the GPS.
