Motorola Droid Razr :: MotoCast Video Playback Error
Nov 18, 2011I just purchased a DROID RAZR. I have installed the desktop client on two different machines. I can view pictures and listen to music but when I try to play any video format I receive the following error:
Error during video playback
MotoCast was not able to playback this file; it might not be in a supported format.
I tried to download several files to test them on the phone's storage, but I am also unable to download any video using MotoCast. I can download pictures and documents. I have tried doing these operations through the Gallery app, as well as just browsing using the directory structure.

Aug 14, 2012When I attempt to stream a video on my Razr Maxx from my home PC it freezes for a couple seconds every 5 seconds of playback. Is there something that needs to be changed to avoid this "buffering" issue.

BB Tour 9630 :: Recorded Video Playback Error
Feb 1, 2010I recorded 2 25 second videos on my Tour but instead on hitting stop after I was done recording I hit the escape key. Both videos show up in my video list with the correct duration but neither play. I get a video format unsupported error.I think this method worked fine before so I don't know what gives.Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get em workin?My os is 4.7.157 for sprint

Feb 16, 2012I have recently purchased the Droid RAZR MAXX, and I have setup motocast to work on my computer to my phone. I am currently able to do everything that I expected, however when I stream or download video files to my phone wirelessly I do have some problems.
The motocast software runs a program called gst-launcher.exe (Ibelieve) and it ends up taking my cpu usage up to between 50% - 70%. This seems a bit high, and it actually ends up making my desktop computer that is running the program over heat within a couple minutes.
While, my desktop computer isn't the latest and greatest technology, I am running Intel Core i7 860 at 2.8 GHz. This seems to me that if my computer cannot handle streaming video to my phone then most computers won't be able to handle this action.
My question is, is this normal and I have to accept that fact that my computer will not be able to stream media?
Also my other question is, is there a way to tone down the cpu usage so that it stays in a safer range of usage? (I am assuming the program is converting the file to the correct format to play on my phone. When I stopped the .exe from task manager my video was able to play on my phone for a bit longer. This indicates to me that if it is converting the video for my phone that if it weren't running at the fastest rate that I may be able to stream video.)

Jun 6, 2011I'm using a stock, untouched Droid X2 with the included MicroSD card and the video recording is simply broken. The first video I tried to take was laggy during the recording, and playback was at a seemingly 1.5x speed and was glitchy. I recieved advice to uninstall Flash 10.3, and while shorter videos would record and play back okay, I still get some issues such as the phone rebooting while trying to navigate the gallery.

Feb 18, 2012My issue is this, I cannot "fast forward" a video during playback. I can select a "fast forward" spot in the video using the slider or control panel but as soon as I let go it reverts back to where it was before (usually the beginning). The really weird part is when I download a player app it initially works, it did this trying RockPlayer, GeekVideo, BSPlayer and others, but as soon as I exit and re-start the apps they revert back to this behavior. My videos are 2.5 hours long and I need the ability to start, and re-start them at differnt points.
I tried MoboPlayer and it behaved the same. I noticed that the file type that does not work is the .WMV, the .MP4's work as they should.
Is this an issue with 2.3.6 that would be fixed if I go back to 2.3.5? I did not see any posts on the internet about this specific issue so I am confused. I received my RAZR MAXX a few days ago. I did the OTA update to 2.3.6 before checking this issue on 2.3.5.I am not rooted or modified in any way.I do not have this problem with the same applications with .WMV files on my old DX running GB 2.3.3 or my tablet running HC 3.2.1

Before 4.0.3 I was able to playback flash video in the browser on my TV through the HDMI cable, now with 4.0.3 I have lost that ability. Jan 19, 2012i have a wifi only xoom running android 4.0.3. yesterday i got the ics update and my ability to watch video from amazon on my xoom in my browser went bad. prior to the update it worked on and off but when it had problems they were never like this, and when it had problems they showed up on all computers i own that tried to use the service. the problem on the xoom tablet continues today. the video is pixelated and very choppy. the audio is very crackly and popping. this is not the way it worked prior to the upgrade.
i can watch the same video on my desktop chrome browser and it works fine. i can watch it on firefox browser and it works. on the xoom i can use the andriod marketplace to buy a video and watch it and it works fine. i can use the xoom browser to view ted and Internet videos and they work fine. is it the browser, the ics update, or is the amazon delivery system antagonistic to ics? also i noticed a very sharp drop in audio volume output of all kinds once the isc upgrade had been done. i simply can not turn up the volume loud enough to hear it easily.

Nov 5, 2011I record video using the camcorder app. I playback video and the audio has a high pitched whine / whistle or sound layered over the background audio. Sometimes the whine gets louder and sometimes lower but its aways there. Its very annoying sounding and seems like either feedback or interference or something. Anyone else experiencing this?I've tried various resolutions and zooming in and out, and lowering the volume all the way prior to entering the app (because you can't get any feedback on volume adjustment once in the app) and nothing i've tried seems to get rid of the sound. I have also tried the 3 "audio scenes" "Everyday" setting seems to be the worst, outdoors the best.

But when I go to mymotocast.com using a browser on my pc, as it loads the music I get an error.In Chrome the error is "An error has occured which prevents the application from running: cannot call method 'get' of undefined." In Firefox the error is "An error has occured which prevents the application from running: c: is undefined."In Internet Explorer the error is ""An error has occured which prevents the application from running: unable to get the value of the property 'get': object is null or undefined."It's only with the music (although I can see my songs behind the error message). The tabs for Video and Files work fine - in fact, using the Files tab I'm able to get to my music. None of these files are on a C drive, btw.They are all in Windows 7 Libraries for "Documents" "Music" and "Videos" but the actual files are on a D drive. I suspect there is something in the code for the Music tab that's having difficulty with that but obviously I don't know.

Jul 6, 2011I'm a new DX2 owner and having several problems with the phone. First, When I reboot, any app I've placed on a home screen that has been moved to the SD card/media area comes up as the default settings icon (blue gear icon) but appear correctly in the app drawer. Second, When I record video it is pixilated and choppy on play back with parts of the video actually missing. I understand we're all waiting for Gingerbread and bugs may exist but, to me, the video issue is a real problem because it basically means I can't count on video working and therefore have to use another device (go XOOM) for video recording.

Dec 8, 2011I have it set up on my PC where I have 3 folders shared. I have a Movies folder, I have a TV Shows folder, and I have a Mixsets folder. I like to listen to DJ mixsets that can be rather large, anywhere from 50MB to 150MB in size. I can access my movies/tv shows off my PC at home just fine when I'm on a wireless network. I just go into Gallery>MotoCast and there i have my TV shows in one folder and Movies in another folder. The folder I named Dj Mixsets does not show up in either Gallery or Music app.That's fine cause when I go to the Files app, I can see all three folders on my PC. From there, I can still access my TV Shows and Movies just fine. But when I try to listen to any of the mixsets, it says Cannot connect to network, please try again. This is weird cause the Droid shows my home PC as "Online". Is it because the music files are really large that it won't play? MotoCast can play larger size video files no problem.

Jul 4, 2012After updating to ics motocast wants to install on my pc and does not give me an option to say no and not have it show again, like the vista start screen. I decided to install motocast and just ignore it but when I rebooted it started my browser with a video for backup assistant after looking thru msconfig and regedit I believe this program to be malware like microsoft security 2012 or many other softwares that use extortion to sell their product.
