Motorola Motocast :: "This Driver Installer Does Not Recognize Your Operating System. The Installer Will Now Exit"
May 3, 2012
I'm trying to install motocast to connect my motoactv. Gets to about 98% of installing MotoHelper and USB drivers and gives an error: "This driver installer does not recognize your operating system. The installer will now exit" Running Windows 8 Consumer preview. Tried multiple compatibility modes no luck. Is this just not compatible?
Intention - to tether my HTC sensation xe to my Sony Vaio (win7 premium all up to date) Latest version of sync d/oaded from HTC directHas anyone actually succeeded to install HTC sync AND the driver installer? I have tried this several times... even contacting HTC and the best they can do is say that it's a registry fault and I needed to obtain a registry cleaner/repairer. I tried this, no difference. Used Sony's own reg/cleaner as well as regcure pro. NO difference.... "it appears that the driver installer failed to install"I hope someone can maybe sort this out as I notice it is a long standing pain in t'arse for many users.
When I hooked the phone up to PC via USB and started up nokia software updater the software couldnt find my phone. I put the phone in PC SUITE mode but still no go. I have an E71, with both the firmware and Ovi Suite fully up to date. I am trying to install the latest Ovi Maps Software, according to the instructions:
Download Maps to your desktop or an easily accessible folder on your computer. done - nokia_maps_3.03_10wk11_b04_s60_3.1_rom.Nocs is downloaded to desktop
Install Maps using Nokia Ovi Suite e.g. double click on the Maps installer file. Finish the installation on your mobile. When I double click (with Ovi Suite open), windows cannot detect which program with which to open the software. I cannot see any option in Ovi Suite to open the software either. Have I missed something? Apologies if this is a obvious problem - I have searched and found related problems, but none of the fixes I have tried have worked. I've have tried going through the Ovi store on my phone, but when trying to login, I get a 'resource does not exist' message.
I'm getting really frustrated trying to Install the Ovi Suite Installer 2.2.0.241 on my Thinkpad T400. I still have about 8G free, but the installer hangs at about 50%. I have tried to install numerous times, with and without restarting the machine., but get the same unsuccessful results. For now I have to do with the Nokia PC Suite which was successfully installed, but I really look forward to using the OVI.
I just purchased a Nokia N97 mini after having spent 5 years on Windows Mobile due to hardward and software issues. I hope I did not make another mistake by moving back to Symbian! Even when I cancel the installation, it still hangs.
I am using nokia c6-01 with simbian anna (latest update). Can't install any software, it says "installation failed". Reinstall the OS, but nothing happened.
My Nokia E66 keeps running the installer. The Installer starts when the phone is booted and asks me to choose a network connection. It then does nothing. I can't stop it or delete the Installer (Ovi Store) application.
How do I stop the phone running this application when it boots?
I have a WIndows XP SP3 laptop (with almost all updates) but attempting to run Nokia_Suite_Webinstaller_ALL.exe always results in the PC Connectivity Pack DPinst.exe driver installer freezing up after removing the service layer and installing a new one.
I am a user of the Blackberry Desk Top Manager, running under Windows XP 64 bit. I recently downloaded the latest version of Desk Top Manager and I am getting the following error: - Flashing intermittently, whilst running the newly downloaded Desktop Manager - "Windows Installer Preparing to Install". I have removed the program, downloaded it again from Blackberry's website and run my Windows updates to no available. I have now been advised that I must format my entire computer and reload Windows, which seems to be a rather onerous solution, as I have been using Blackberry's Synchronization Program for over a year successfully before this took place.
I just got my Nokia N8 today (US version). When I clicked on the Ovi icon, it opens up the browser and just shows "Welcome to Ovi Store". There are no links to download the Ovi Store installer, and I'm stuck here. Tried to go to store.ovi.mobi and ovi.com but can't find anything that will let me get the installer!
I bought a Nokia 6120 Classic phone. When i start to install .jar files it installs somewhat and then stops and installer stucks. After that the phone too stucks. cant open the menu. But the phone comes to normal stage after sometime. Nokia 6120c Installer Stuck while installing
I have a nokia 5800 Nav. Edition. Here is step by step issues I am facing with the phone:
1. Whenever I go to OVI Store it gives me a message saying that an Update is available and I need to install it before going forward. So when I click on Update button it takes me to several screens and finally Outpus saying that "Unable to start the operation. Installer is in use already." 2. In order to solve this issue I went through some of the discussion and found out that in order to get this problem addressed i need to follow the steps to Open the file manager and remove the Memory Card followed by Removing the Card physically. 3. This is when I realized that for some reason my memory card is stuck inside, so when I press it the dock seems to be releasing it but it refuses to come out completely. 4. Despite removing the memory card and undocking it I am still not able to apply the update to Ovi Store but this time the error message is different. Here are the steps: a. I go to file manager and remove the memory card. b. I undock it physically. c. I start the Ovi Store and click on Update. d. It goes through several screens as above and finally asks for Installation (this did not happen when Mem card was in). e. It starts the installer but then aborts it saying "Update Error".
I am trying install Ovi Suite onto my PC at work so I can get back up and running again, after upgrading my Nokai handset. However the product fails to install. I keep getting the message: Initializing Failed. Unable to proceed with the installer execution My operating system is Win XP (SP3). What's the story?
I am a user of the Blackberry Desk Top Manager, running under Windows XP Service Pack 4.5. It turns that a new version of foursquare is available - running on Qt and requiring Nokia's "smart" installer to install it. However, when the installer gets to "Installing 2 of 6" it fails and gives the message "Installation Failed" followed by "To continue this installation later, select this icon in your application menu".
I have Googled and Googled and haven't managed to find a solution that doesn't require me to install a modified version of Symbian. Nothing else, including uninstalling and reinstalling the installer has worked.
make the zoom function part of the operating system. It should not depend on the application or website. Meaning that every screen should be zoomable regardless of application or website. make the text size function available on the desktop. Drilling down through 3 menus to change it is kind of annoying.
I recently got a new computer and trashed the old one. My phone says the old computer is offline...true. But the new computer name doesn't show up on my phone. Motocast web access says the new computer is working fine. How do I add the new computer to my phone ?
Starting yesterday I have seen the above message 3 times. The only thing I have changed on the phone was to enable Motocast yesterday. Also, I replaced the 16GB SD card with a 32GB SD card, early last week. I've only had the phone for about a month. I have been able to power the phone off and reboot and get the phone functioning again. Last night it took 2 reboots before the phone became functional again. What can I look for to determine whats causing the error?
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge that has this message flashing on the bottom of the screen all the time. Restarting the handset doesn't fix the issue. It started today and I don't recall doing anything unusual to the phone. I haven't modded or tinkered with the phone at all, it's the same way it was when I bought it new from Verizon. "System encounter error will exit later"?>>>
