Motorola Motoactv :: Stuck With A Firewall Error Message
Mar 1, 2012
One of the quirks I seem stuck with is a Firewall Error Message on my home computer. Nothing I do seems to resolve it. Even turning off all the firewall functionality doesn't stop this message (I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2012). I don't have any problems on my office computer (Trend Micro).
According to Kaspersky I have the MOTOACTV components all trusted and as noted even if I turn off the firewall and the entire security suite it still produces this message.
No other application or harware experiences any connection problems. I can work around this but it is one of a handfull of annoying quirks that remain with MOTOACTV.
I have had my BB Curve 8900 since Nov 2009 and have it on a 18month contract with Orange. I find the coverage were I live is terrible I am in the B73 postcode, this is Sutton Coldfield in the swest Mest Midlands, this was depite being told by the staff in the Phones 4U shop that the coverage was good, so any tips on this would be greatefully recieved, this however is not my masin gripe. When I first downloaded Ubertwitter it worked fine but now I have the following problem. The application Ubertwitter has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.
My motoactv will not update. I used it running for the first time yesterday and the gps was lousy. I kept losing the location lock. I know the last update was pulled. Is there a way to get it to update to at least the first maintenance release.
the firewall the have restriction administracion don't let me turn off the block incoming and out text messagehow i can fix that to bring it to easy step
I've just recently upgraded my Motoactv but since then it won't boot.It gets stuck on the pulsing 'M' bit. as anyone else had this issue since upgrading?I've tried holding down 'Start' 'Music' & the 'Power' button, the screen turned off but when booting it up it gets stuck again.I can't re-do the firmware again because my PC wont recognize it.
I have been logging into the MotoACTV site for for abput two months now. The very first time that I tried to login several months ago I received the Error Message: "An Internal Error has Occurred. Please Log Out and Log In again." I have rteceived the same message intermittenlty since then and also today. This seems to me a problem with the servers not adequate to the demand and should be relatively easy to remedy. i use a variety to fitness sites -- Strava, Edomondo, Garmin Connect, Training Peaks -- and have never received a simmiliar message. I think Motorola should get a handle on this problem.
I am having trouble with my fiancee's Motoactv which I gave to her as a gift this past Christmas. It looks like the backlight is no longer working, and the device is stuck in a black and white mode. She can see the display (without color) when outside in the sunlight, but indoors or at night it is completely unreadable. We've updated the device with the most current firmware, and made sure that it is fully charged, but nothing seems to help.
My MA is stuck in the wrist strap. I have taken it out many time before with out much force but this time it is really stuck. Maybe sweat got into it then dried. Not sure.
I've been trying to create a motocast ID for the past few days and it keeps saying that there was an error and to try later. is anyone else having this error? any work arounds? or ways to get this to work?
The current verion of software for my Motoactv (16GB) is MA 1.7.2 NA 16, yet whenever I power on, I get the message "New software, connect to computer...". when I connect, no software automatically downloads, so I use Motocast to check for updates; I get the message 'no updates'
Started today with 11,316 calories already expended and I haven't even put the watch on. Tried turning off and back on. Turned off tracking and back on. Turned off and powered off then back on and enabled tracking. Still at 11k calories. There doesn't seem to be any way to reset this.
Every single time I connect my watch to the computer via USB cable I get this "Connection Error": "Your MotoActv device cannot connect to the internet if your computer requires a proxy to reach the internet, please click proxy settings." Then I click the "Try Again" button and it successfully connects. This happens every time without fail. It's annoying. Can that be fixed?
I try of chose a courses in the golf app but it gives me the error process com.motorola.motogolf has stopped for only one courses ans it's the courses for Golf St-Jean-de-Matha in Canada, Quebec.
I'm trying to enter a simple ladder (0,8km speed + 3min jog + 1 km speed + 3km jog + 1,2 km speed + 3 min jog, going down to 0.8). Simple enough, 5 activities, each an interval workout, one set, High based on distance, low based on time.
My devise is ocurring the error during multi-stage workout. The error is: The application NotifierApp (process com.motorola.g2) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus with the MOTOACTV app installed. Whenever I try to sync it, I get an error saying"Could not reach the server while attempting sychnronization". It doesn't matter if I am on WiFi or using the cell network. The only way to get it to sync is to log out and back in. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but still have the same issue.
I was checking the portal today and noticed that the schedule section at the top of the page displays incorrect workout info - see screenshot attached.
I am sure that I have not exercised today (it is Sunday, duh) ... yet the schedule shows that I had an exercise today (see red dot on the schedule). So I checked the device and verified that there was no exercise today on the device. And when I clicked to check details on the portal, I saw last week's exercise data.
OK, So tell me if this happening for you too. I went in and planned a workout. I put it for Tuesday and Thursdays. I saved it, and it went into the calendar. I then went back in, because I wanted to add a route to the workout. I went in, and then added tou route, and saved it again. For some reason now, my workouts were on Monday and Wednesday on the calendar. So I went back in to check off the correct days, and noticed that the checks were no on Sunday and Tuesday. So I set it back to tuesday and thursday. Just for kicks, I went back in to edit, and sure enough, Monday and Wed were checked now instead of Tuesday and Thursday.
I have seen people having several problems with sync'ing. My problem is probably a variation of the basic underlying problem.I got my Motoactv a couple of days ago. I did a workout, and then tried to sync it wirelessly. I tried several times, but each time it gave me a network error. So then I connected the device to the computer via USB and the sync was successful. The next day, I did a couple of workouts. This time both the wireless and USB syncs failed numerous times. After reading several other posts, I did a factory reset.I then did a workout, and tried the wireless sync, and that failed. I didn't try the USB sync at that time. I went to bed, and when I got up this morning, Motoacdtv said that the sync was successful. So sometime during the night, the wireless sync occurred. I then did another workout today, and then did a USB sync which was successful. Another workout, and then the wireless sync (without intervention) worked.
Am I the only one that gets these errors everytime I connect? I just click "try again" on the first message, then I click past the second message and then it works, but it seems odd. I don't have anything special on my network, it's just a basic cable modem with a wireless router and my computer connects via wireless. See attached for errors
For some reason I can't update my Motoactv. I keep getting the message "Server temporarily down for maintenence" I have been getting this message since I purchased the unit 5 days ago. Also, how do you remove the music that comes on the device?
While navigating the Motoactv Site, I frequently see (often several times per session) "An internal error has occurred. " Sometimes the refresh button fixes it, but often I have to log out and back in, which is a pain when it happens several times in a browser session. Screenshot attached. I am on IE 9 both 32-bit and 64-bit.
Anyone getting the error, "The process xxxx has stopped unexpectedly" with one button that says "forced close"? If so what can be done to prevent it. I was at the end of my run yesterday and stopped my run on the Motoactv. When I clicked the button to stop the run, the error popped up. When I clicked the "forced close" button, I lost my entire run. The run can no longer be seen in my recent workout list. It was disappointing to loose the data. I was not running any music when this happened. I was only using the exercise mode at the time. My software version is 1.7.2 N8. I would suggest that the watch needs an option to make incremental saves automatically every lap. That way if the watch does crash or the watch is accidentally turned off, the entire workout is not lost.
