I've just recently upgraded my Motoactv but since then it won't boot.It gets stuck on the pulsing 'M' bit. as anyone else had this issue since upgrading?I've tried holding down 'Start' 'Music' & the 'Power' button, the screen turned off but when booting it up it gets stuck again.I can't re-do the firmware again because my PC wont recognize it.
View 2 RepliesAs I was talking on my Razr v3 yesterday, I experienced what I thought was just another typical of many AT&T dropped calls. However, upon further inspection, I noticed my phone had gone into boot loader mode for no apparent reason. It's done this on a couple of occasions. Once after it was accidentally dropped and another when I turned it off (then back on) because I was on a plane trip. I've been able to get it back to normal by just power cycling it until it booted.This time no such luck and the screen says the battery is 'too low to program' so if I wanted to attempt to flash it which is something I have NEVER done, I couldn't even do it due to the low battery. This is the only Razr I have and I don't know anyone that still uses one so I don't have one available to put my battery in to charge.Is this the only way to charge the battery? Is it not possible to charge it with the power off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with my fiancee's Motoactv which I gave to her as a gift this past Christmas. It looks like the backlight is no longer working, and the device is stuck in a black and white mode. She can see the display (without color) when outside in the sunlight, but indoors or at night it is completely unreadable. We've updated the device with the most current firmware, and made sure that it is fully charged, but nothing seems to help.

I have started the process and as the device was about to restart it indicated software update failure and now my BB is stuck in boot mode and won't go further.What is the solution? I have recon that I will be loosing all my data on it regardless of what I am doing but right now the device won't go pass the booting screen.

I did not install a custom rom or anything. no root. randomly in my every day normal usage of my phone, it started to restart. and the the problem got worse and worse. for a few minutes, i will be able to use my phone but then my phone will restart and be stuck restarting. most of the times I can't even go into recovery mode. It restarts again when i get to that. I already resetted my phone, and I wiped the partition.
I have a samsung galaxy s6 SM-G920W8 telus/koodo 32 gb. i got the battery replaced by samsung but that didnt work. i noticed that after a few hours, my phone stops restarting when it reaches to 10% battery life.
I plugged my Motorola Razr into the USB to charge, and it is now stuck on the 'dual core technology' boot screen. The device was already powered on, but when I plugged it in, the screen went black and it started to turn on and paused here. I have tried holding the power button and plugging it in and unplugging it, but nothing happens?

View 3 Replies View RelatedGreetings, my phone recently froze on me, and I couldn't even reboot by holding down the power button. Instead I opted to reboot via the Power Button + Volume Down method. This forced it to shut down, but upon rebooting, the phone is now in a loop. It shows the Droid at launch, then makes it to the red eye, but after sitting on the red eye a moment, it freezes, then restarts the cycle again.
Things I have tried:
Forcing another reboot via Power + Volume Down Going into the Boot Mode Selection to use Normal Power Up Going to BMS and trying Recovery (Wiped data/factory reset) Attempted to enter Safe Mode (Didn't seem to work, cycled again at eye) Fastboot Lastly, tried launching to Tools in BMS. Same as above.
At this point I am at a loss as to what to do. I would like to not have to send this out, and to fix it here, but is it comes to that, I guess I'll take it to Verizon and see about getting it shipped out, and getting a replacement.
Oh, also this is a stock phone, the only "modifications" I had was Go Launcher and Go Lockscreen. I was, when this happened, going to check my Google Reader app, and that is when it froze on me. (Never had it happen before this)
We have an airave and whenever I leave the house or come back home I have to turn the phone off and then restart to get it to connect either to the airave or an outside tower so the dc will work again. I got home, turned the phone off and left it off for a couple of minutes. Turned it back on and it's been stuck on the black screen with the red motorola icon for about 8 minutes. Is there a force-shut down?

I let it go for about twenty minutes. The phone will not let me use the power button to shut it down. The only way to turn it off is to pull the battery. The phone had no problems before this.

I've seen other Android devices that will boot into SAFE MODE (ie - no 3rd party apps running). Can this be done with Photon?
Which of the many bootloader options (Press Volume Down while powering on device) would work for this purpose?
Several flashing attempts failed. Now i'm stuck in the "bootloader usb init" screen.(but thats another problem i'm trying to get help with in another thread.)I started with a fully charged good battery, but after hours of trying to get this thing back into verizon by flashing it with VRZ_E815_01.1E.0R_PRIii09574_MONSTER_01.shx , i believe i'm outa juice, well the battery is.So I plugged it in the charger, it's still in the bootloader mode and on! Now.It's been about 4 hrs, but the phone still turns off after displaying 'hello moto' for 1 second(when charger is unplugged), which make it impossible to try fixing the flashing problem.
QUESTION:
How do i know that/if the battery is charging while in the bootloader state?.. or is this phone turning it self off, not a battery problem at all, but has something to do with the failed flashing... a dead phone?
I have never rooted my phone nor have I flashed a custom ROM before. I have a 32 GB HTC One M9 from Verizon on stock Lollipop Android, and it has been working perfectly until this morning. I woke up to my M9 stuck in a bootloop. It would boot to the HTC logo, stay there for about 10 sec, then go black and constantly restart again (even as I type this). I can access the bootloader, but it seems none of the options work for me! I can't boot to recovery mode or even power off my phone. It just constantly boots again by itself.

View 14 Replies View RelatedLike others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the quirks I seem stuck with is a Firewall Error Message on my home computer. Nothing I do seems to resolve it. Even turning off all the firewall functionality doesn't stop this message (I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2012). I don't have any problems on my office computer (Trend Micro).
According to Kaspersky I have the MOTOACTV components all trusted and as noted even if I turn off the firewall and the entire security suite it still produces this message.
No other application or harware experiences any connection problems. I can work around this but it is one of a handfull of annoying quirks that remain with MOTOACTV.
My MA is stuck in the wrist strap. I have taken it out many time before with out much force but this time it is really stuck. Maybe sweat got into it then dried. Not sure.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice to be able to lock any screen, not just the workout screens. For example, I like to wear the Motoactv as a watch. You can have the it dim the screen, but not go off, if you tell it not to timeout the screen in workout, and then do a walking workout. However, when I touch the watch by mistake, it goes to my timepiece setup screen. Locking it at any screen would solve this. Also, having a dim mode to save the battery for watch use would be nice.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi did a bit of research before getting a motoactv to serve as my primary training data tool. i read dc rainmaker's report, watched his Internet video of the thing in the shower, and read all the stories of people having water caused failures and motorola invalidating the warranties. i loved the looks and the features, and i wrote off the water complaints as the voice of a loud internet minority, most of whom probably didn't do something right. i was worried about the warranty not being honored, so i made my purchase at rei, who essentially grant lifetime return of anything that they sell.all my workouts are sweaty. encouraged by dc rainmaker's video, which he said was conducted on motorola's terms, i wore the motoactv into the shower after a run. the headset grommet and usb port cover were firmly in place. there were no signs of trouble during the shower (as there weren't in the video), but about 40 minutes later, i caught a glimpse of some small white text on a black screen, then the watch went dark. i powered it back on, which went normally, but once fully booted up, the up volume was constantly activated, with the overlay message showing the speaker icon and the horizontal volume bar showing full volume.
i could sometimes get the indicated volume to go down with the down volume button, only to see the volume quickly ramp all the way back up. i played with this for a while, then powered the thing down to save the battery, as the up volume input was keeping the screen on. suspecting water damage, i checked the usb port and it was dry. a day later, all was back to normal. that was a month ago. i accidently wore it into the shower for all of 10 seconds yesterday, only long enough for it to take a few splashes, and not even long enough to wet the entire case. the phantom volume ramp returned within 10 minutes, but i was able to eventually make it go away by actuating the up volume and music buttons. again, the usb port looked dry. this morning the watch was dead dead dead, with only a brief bootloader message when i tried turning it on. hooking it up to the usb on the computer was enough to get the juice flowing again and start to fill the battery. i was able to power up after about 15 minutes. the phantom volume has returned and won't go away.
i will be exchaning the unit for another at rei today. given the backup of rei's return policy, i will be sticking with the motoactv as my training data device for now. i'm writing all of this to inform people about what they might expect, and to encourage motorola to get their act together on making these things work for their intended purpose. from now on, i'll be cleaning sweat off with a moist paper towel. if it rains, the motoactv will be coming out with me like it or not, and i'll just make another trip to rei if the thing conks out. if rei sees a pattern, i'm sure they will do a better job of encouraging motorola to make the necessary changes than i could.
How to use the device with only heart rate and calorie burn (like weight training or other non-programmed workouts)? I would also like to use it in spin class but the bike don't have any ANT+ sensors - so a heart rate/calorie burn mode would be nice. How to use the device for a spin class? Also, how is the calorie burn calculated? Is it based on height, weight, age, etc. with an algorithim or is it simply based on a typical condition (basically guessing the burn)?Is it possible to upload my New Leaf testing profile to the device?

My workaround is to power it off so i dont have to constantly have it charging and so its ready when i need it. Is there a setting coming or present that will allow the motoactv to enter deep sleep mode after x amount of inactivity and then to only be awakened by button presses?
View 8 Replies View RelatedOver the past two weeks, I have observed that my MOTOACTV has twice entered a Failure Mode in which current drawn from the battery in Standby if far higher than spec and even higher than playing music through wired headsets only. The cause is unknown, but may be related to another MOTOACTV Failure Mode - music player freak out. In the first instance, I left the unit in Standby at 70% charge and found 14 hours later that it had turned itself off - battery depleted. I powered it up, charged it and was surprised during my run to find that my SF200 wired headset line switch was functional again - the music player had not responded to the SF200 line switch for several days.
In the second instance, late on Tuesday night Feb 28, I noticed that the state-of-charge of my battery was sliding rapidly and placed it on the charger. After my morning run the next day, I charged it fully and monitored the battery. The result is charted in the image below. According to published specifications, the MOTOACTV should last 325 hours on one full charge. I have conducted extensive battery tests on my unit and have never been able to achieve a Standby discharge rate much better than 0.71%/hr or 140 hours full discharge equivalent. The Standby battery life spec should be revised. As published, it is misleading at best. In Failure Mode - Excessive Battery Drain in Standby, I measured a Standby discharge rate of 6.73%/hr or just under 15 hours of battery life in Standby on a full charge.
I do not know why my unit enters this Failure Mode. But I know I am not alone. AlmariaTeach is probably replacing his unit right now to remedy what looks like the same issue. But his device could not be cured by rebooting or factory reset, so it may have been a more advanced case. In both instances, a power-off reboot restored 'normal' Standby power use behavior and revived a non-functioning music player line switch to perfect working order.
Upon turning on my Triumph, the phone states the phrase "Incoming Download Mode" once, then repeats the following message over and over, on a black screen: "polling, get oemsbl_mode = 1". Apparently this is the bootloader mode. I am Not inadvertently or intentionally holding down the volume down button or any other button at the same time as the power button, as many forums mention as the possible problem. I have tried: pulling the battery for hours; pulling the battery and holding down the power key for 30 seconds; pressing the volume up and down keys a lot when the phone is off and the battery out (in case up or down volume button is stuck), then powering up the phone. In none of the above scenarios is the phone connected to anything via USB cord. At the time my phone developed this problem about 48 hours ago, I was simply surfing the web on my phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHowever, recently, when I switched on my phone, it switched to Webtop mode, even though it wasn't connected to my dock nor to any HDMI cable. This happens every time I switch my phone on, and has been happening for a week now. The only workaround I've been able to find is to go to the Display menu, check and uncheck the "Enable HDMI cable detection". It works perfectly fine after that.
